  1. Can I again say a big thank you to Cletus for the way in which he's kept the interest going in this thread all season.

My Bolton supporting colleague, who I made the wager with, is telling me that I’ve nothing to gloat about because only just beating Wigans average attendance is nothing to write home about. I pointed out to her that if I’d have taken the alternative wager of us finishing higher than Bolton I’d have won that also.

Doubt she'll pay up but I’ll keep you posted.

  2. Thing  is Gav did you say anything to him?

Not having a do , just its the same thing from Rovers fans we like to moan but we see/hear something that we complain/moan about  but let it pass.

Told him to stop moaning, but not in a confrontational manner, he remonstrated with me about the form and I said just fill it like everyone else.

Whilst I was being served he went to the next window and started having a go at the woman, he looked at me and said, "I'm doing it again aren’t I" i just laughed.

Many people wouldn't say a word and plenty were in agreement with him but you have to challenge some people and he was one because he's ranting loudly about such a trivial matter.

  3. Bought my seven year old his first season ticket this morning, £90 is great value and he'll be going for many years to come.

I was stood in the queue and one bloke was going mad about having to fill in a form:

"Why do I need to fill in a bloody form when I’ve been a season ticket holder for the past 8yrs"

MOAN MOAN MOAN MOAN MOAN...........just fill the form in like everyone else you moaning **** mad.gif

  4. Great result against a very poor Charlton side and all credit to the fans who made the trip, looked a good following for a live game.

    Just a couple of observations:

Lucas Neill in the first half was yet again caught marking space instead of the player, when will he learn? That shot either side of Brad and we could have been 1-0 down.

Mort Ped yet again was awful for me; ok his throw lead to the goal but his overall contribution was terrible. I agree he's only young but he's going to have to improve considerably to cement his place in the team.

Steven Reid must be the most improved player in blue and white, every game he looks better and better, we'll struggle to keep hold of him at this rate.

Great day indeed, Rovers 3 points and brum going down biggrin.gif

  5. If anyone hears of England tickets going from a reliable source please let me know. Didn't really bother this time because of family holidays but thats changed so i'm now desperate for tickets.

No chance i know, but if you don't ask.......

Tris, why not give me your ticket, thats what friends are for biggrin.gif

  6. He wasn't exactly setting the Premiership alight earlier in the season but he was scoring goals, which made up for his poor performances. Once the goals dried up he's been exposed as just an average player who can't beat a man, has no pace but does posses a good left foot.

If Spurs or anyone else offer anything remotely like 5million we should cash in and laugh all the way to the bank.

  7. Thank God for that, he's retired, I couldn't take another week of this constant media cr@p about a bloody injury to a guy who's had a fantastic career and is one of the countries richest footballers as a result.

What about the players who don't have a pot to ###### in after finishing early through injury.

Pity he never won anything during his career........ blink.gif

  8. Just got back sad.gif 3hrs to travel just over 100 miles sad.gif ..........

Poor performance, they just about shaded the first half.

Second half we started the brighter then they scored against the run of play. Savage goal was worth the journey but all in all cr@p defending and messing about with the ball in vital areas cost us.

We've not played well for a while as far as I’m concerned and although this season has been better than any of us could imagine, I fear its going to end on a sour note.

    Bedtime.

  9. Notice how the BBC now are implying that shearers career only took place at Newcastle over the last 10 years.  Yet again they expressed incredulity that Newcastles best ever forward is retiring empty handed! tongue.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

Must be a Beeb thing, Debs came home from work last night ranting about 5 live going on about him never winning anything in his career.

    Poor Al.

  10. The one thing that has really impressed me about Hughes is his focus on bringing in younger players instead of the over 30 brigade looking for a final swan song.

I fear that selling Pedersen would send out the wrong signal to the current crop despite anything over 6 million being very good money for a limited player.

    Who'd be a manager.......

  11. In all my years following Rovers we've never performed well against struggling teams. Lets just hope we don't continue that trend on Saturday.

    Sunderland 1 Blackburn Rovers 1

16 of us going in a mini bus with one spare place if anyone’s interested. Price will be £15 with a stop on route and stop coming home for light refreshment biggrin.gif PM me if interested.

  12. o  Make a 'universal' or as near to a universal price for all areas of the ground. Too many times have people walked away because all that is left is the JW stand - and people just don't want to pay £32 to watch Rovers vs Everton!

o  Give the away fans the Riverside - let them be rained on when they are leaving and have to put up with the @#/? facilities.

o  Relocate the family stand. Its current position just does not add up for me.

    391101[/snapback]

I've absolutely no idea how to address the poor gate situation, if people won't come out and support a club 6th in the Premiership they'll never come out and support us, simple as that for me.

But the points raised above should be looked at closely by the club because they'd make the ewood experience far better from a home supporter’s point of view.

Obviously giving the riverside to away fans will cause problems for some fixtures but our own fans should have the new part of the stadium and its better facilities. We give them the biggest pub in close vicinity to the ground then house them in the best stand when 3000+ home fans get rained on and can't get in the bogs or have a beer!

The family stand should be moved and the Blackburn end on mass should be where the hardcore more vociferous support is located. Having been in the family stand several times in recent seasons it’s only ever half full for the less attractive fixtures so could easily be moved elsewhere.

Lets treat the fans we have with a little more respect.

  13. Little old Rovers 5th in the Premierleague,a town club taking on the big city boys and beating them at home with entertaining football.I cant vouch for others but I have a strong feeling of pride in my club at the moment, the town of Blackburn should be buzzing.

What more can the club do if we dont see home sections filled against Villa? huh.gif

Why dont these 'fans' who frequent the likes of the Royal oak and the town centre shyte holes show their support at the ground?

Come down against Villa and bring the kids, bring the neighbours kids and lets see if the lads in blue 'n' white can re-light your fire.

    P.S.

Cant afford a ticket?....@#/?! you can afford to shovel f'kin ale down your throats eh!

    Amen
