  1. Having been lucky enough to get tickets for Parkhead some might think it easy or inappropriate for me to comment but just two things: I stand by everything I said earlier in the thread about the club's approach to this allocation, it was poor to say the least. Secondly it is not the fault of any member of this board there are not enough tickets to go round. PLEASE do not have a pop at GAV or anyone else whose view you disagree with. The view was proved to be wrong, that's all.
  2. True.....but I did tip you off
  3. and unrestricted. Started dialling at 9.00, got through at 10.39
  4. den - can you expand on that remark for us all? Do you mean unrestricted sale?
  5. Has anyone got through on the phone? or are you all to busy dialling to type?

    Fans Queue All Night

On a cold, wet, windy night Rovers fans queued for more than 13 hours for the chance to purchase tickets for the first leg of the eagerly anticipated UEFA Cup tie with Scottish Champions Celtic. The first supporters were reported to have arrived at Ewood Park at 7.45pm on Sunday evening to begin queuing for tickets that will go on sale at 9.00am this morning. At 7.00am the queue snaked two and a half times the length of the Blackburn End concourse, which was opened to shelter fans from heavy rain and strong winds. Stewards estimated the queue to be some 400 strong with more fans arriving every minute. The fixture with Celtic promises to be one of the biggest games at Ewood Park in recent years. Tickets for the second leg at Ewood will go on sale to season ticket holders at 9.00am on October 24th.
  7. I do hope you're right GAV but I suspect there will be a real queue tomorrow and every chance the switch board will be jammed.
  8. Prediction time: The away leg will sell out by 2.00pm Monday
  9. I don't go away often and rarely outside the north-west. First off - YES the Sofia fans will and should get priority. After that it gets very difficult - YES the committed regular away fan should get one. I can't recall how long I've had an ST - I started to buy it beacuse I wanted the club to have my money many, many years ago - when Rovers didn't have tuppence to their name. Like you waggy I have taken the juniors to every home game since they were 3 - that gives them 42 seasons of footie between them and the eldest is only 16!! The point is we ALL deserve a chance to see one BIG European away tie and I know this is my only chance unless we get to Seville. So I'm very, very disappointed Rovers haven't done more to TRY to reward us ALL. The ONLY thing that's stopping me from queuing all night is the fact my office manager is away - I could have changed that if they announcement had been earlier - and I have to be at work.
  10. I'm sorry Lee but how much longer are Rovers going to hide behind the Man City game? I understand all of the arguements for giving the Darwen End to Celtic and I agree with those arguements. What I can't agree with is the lack of effort to change the situation. Fans want to see big games, this is when they will be hooked and might just turn up for Walsall etc. If we are to ever change and grow the fan base we have to take the golden opportunities which come our way occassionally. There has to be a contingency plan in place to take advantage of these opportunities and frankly there isn't one. Consequently this situation will just roll on for years going nowhere with the same old 22,000 turning out week after week.
  11. We could have TRIED to sell out Ewood Park and just give Celtic 1500. We COULD have offered 1500 tickets with an option on another 6500. We COULD have told the home support exactly what the position was, we could have let ST holders buy extra tickets. We COULD have down a lot of things in plenty of time to find out the REAL demand but no.... .....same old story, most attractive (biggest?) home fixture for years and the club won't take the opportunity to TRY and sell the tickets, to TRY and BUILD the supporter base. Just think of all those kids who could have said "I was there the night we beat Celtic". I am desperatley disappointed with the club on this issue. JW really needs to come out with a considered statement instead of hiding behind the usual facts and figures. We cut the price for Walsall to try and attract a crowd and then we give away the biggest ticket selling opportunity in years. The Walsall game should have been bundled with Celtic. Some sort of offer COULD have been worked out...but the club are just too idle and apathetic to bother with thinking about this. It's a complete disgrace and I for one want JW to come out and tell us the truth. Blackburn Rovers really do know how to push us to the limit...time after time.
  12. SOLD DOWN THE RIVER. Less than 5% of the capacity as required by UEFA, restricted view, some VERY RESTRICTED, complete bloody shambles Rovers. So we are asked to shell out around £70 for 3 tickets, food, accomodation, diesel etc to watch a pillar for 90 minutes. We're expected to turn up and watch Walsall without a murmur and the club can't even TRY to get tickets for those who want to go to Glasgow. A perceived "no chance" of getting a ticket will become a self-fulfilling prophecy over the lack of away support. I've got 5 STs and the thought of being offered £250 for each ticket is very attractive - would pay off my overdraft in one go. I'll calm down but right now I can't even be bothered to think about going to the home leg. VERY, VERY, VERY ANGRY
