  1. The management at Ewood cannot confirm a spend of over £5,000 without approval from Suhail. That’s the reality.
  2. I commented on Instagram that Rothwell was some player when he could be bothered. He liked the comment, I don’t know what that means… but I standby it. All of our best goals on that competition start with him tearing through a load of players, he just doesn’t do that anymore.
  3. I couldn’t agree more - very odd that anyone can find a way to criticise what is essentially a message saying “please communicate with the fans”.
  4. Currently watching Atletico vs. City. Obviously, I’m not in any way suggesting this is realistic, because it isn’t, but wouldn’t it be fantastic to get someone with the character of Diego Simone in? As it stands he’s on the pitch, screaming at his players, demanding more as they chase a last minute equaliser. He’s got the Atletico fans creating an incredible atmosphere, he’s egging the fans on. Over two legs they’ve played defensive - almost anti football - but do you think the Atleti fans care? I doubt it. They all believe, they have their strengths and they play to it and create a culture. Now again, I’ll emphasis this… I KNOW WE AREN’T GOING TO GET SIMONE! But please god give me someone with passion and a clear and defined “style”.
  5. West Ham are owned (or at least funded) by a man worth nearly 6 billion USD. I don’t know how much Venkys are worth - nobody seems to - but one thing is for sure they don’t put money in like (potentially the funniest name in football) Kretinsky. Leicester’s owner is worth 3 billion USD and again funds the club like money doesn’t matter. Burnley qualified for Europe and it very nearly relegated them because they couldn’t compete in so many competitions because they couldn’t afford to buy the amount of quality players needed. Of course I’m not happy we’ve fallen out of the playoffs and of course I’d rather not be in League zone - although I LOVED) being the best team in the league. And yes I agree it would be financially extremely good news for the club to get promoted. But that doesn’t change the reality - apart from a spectacular one off event, Rovers (and Burnley) will never compete in the top half of the Premier League again. Unless of course a Super League is created and all the top clubs leave. It’s just not financially possible without a local multi billionaire that truly loves the club. Unfortunately, the EG boys don’t really like football and if they had to pick, they are United fans… And in reality, what do we really want? Get promoted, Venkys sell up, some Middle Eastern investment group use Rovers as a vehicle for sports washing to try and advertise Saudi Arabia to the masses as a luxury heaven, when in reality they’re killing people because of their sexual preferences and restricting womens rights? Honestly, I’d rather be League One Blackburn Rovers, owned by the fans, challenging at the top of the league, developing our own young players to be sold on, investing in the local area and giving an opportunity for work, hope and inspiration to the Town. I haven’t yet seen a season since we where relegated where we looked like a Championship promotion winning side. Without saying I told you so, this season has been one of the most frustrating in a long time because I could see this shambles coming weeks… no, months, ago. We’re not going up because the club doesn’t behave like a promotion winning club. And that’s not going to change whilst Venkys are here because they don’t know what they’re doing and/or don’t care. So as far as I’m concerned… admin doesn’t sound too shabby at all. We’ll get relegated. We’ll lose our training ground. The ground is worthless. Then we can start again. Someone will buy us. And at this stage, that feels inevitable. So bring it on. It will give us something to rally around, rather than a hugely fractured fan base where 50% of the support don’t know any better and 50% are pulling their hair out because they do know better, an ownership that have no idea what to do to turn it around and a management team that are happy to bumble long making no progress, treading water on a slow but inevitable scaling back operation.
  6. I know for sure that I don’t want to be getting twatted 4-0 every week in the Premier League knowing that because of our ownership not spending as much as Russian Oligarchs or The Saudi Government, sports-washing for political gain, we will never achieve anything higher than 10th.
  7. To be fair I said a good team. Ie a team that wins most weeks.
  8. In the grand scheme of things Longers, in my opinion it’s much better being a good team in a worse league than the constant drag of “can we steal a point against this club owned by a multi billionaire?” as you try your upmost to finish 17th. The Premier League is a shambles.
  9. I honestly think the attitude of “Dackys coming on shortly, he will score for us.” is part of our problem. I’d rather we played him in the first half and took him off at half time.
  10. Kaminski Nyambe Lenihan JVH Wharton Giles Travis Buckley Khadra Dack BBD We really should be tonking these 3 or 4 nil. But we will probably draw 2-2.
  11. Bed time time Nuttall, you’ve had enough to drink today.
  12. I’m not convinced. In fact I’m pretty sure he’s only ever been hired because he’s got a German accent, wacky hair and Klopp is doing well.
  13. The way out this league is team spirit. Every team that is promoted has a strong team spirit. I don’t care if we’re not the best team in the league, but I want them to understand and always try. I don’t want anything posh or fancy, I want someone that gets what we want. Bring in Gareth Ainsworth.
  14. I was the same with Dack until I saw him against Coventry. He played 45 minutes and could hardly move after about 35. By the 80th minute he was moving so, so slowly.
  15. Don’t let it bring you down, finishing 6th only means you’ve got two more games against either 3rd, 4th or 5th. We wouldn’t beat any of them.
  16. They’re just not good enough, which is really unfortunate. We can all talk about fuck ups and what went wrong - but for me the biggest one was recruitment. Giles - decent player, but didn’t need him. Zeefuik - has been injured since we got him. Hedges - looks miles off it. Markanday - injured in his debut. Not one made a difference. When you’re in that position you need signings that either improve the team or are adequate cover and none of them are… bar Giles, who isn’t being played in his correct position.
  17. JVH has been good. Kaminski good. Travis has been good.
  18. This is absolutely unbearable. In the grand scheme of things it doesn’t really matter, even if we got a result it’s a chase to get tonked 3-0 by Forest at some stage.
  19. They won’t, Moerpho, please don’t get your hopes up.
  20. Given the scores at the moment this has become must win again…
  21. You’re guess is as good as mine. Perhaps he looked at his phone and saw the videos on Twitter? Perhaps his wife text him? Perhaps someone went in and showed it him on an iPad? Perhaps a referee friend gave him a tip off?
  22. He missed a Pool penalty in the first half and if you ask me he’s been told that at half time - which is against the rules - and he’s now therefore giving everything to Pool until it’s levelled out.
  23. Feels like a waiting game for Pool to score here.
  24. Has Rothwell had a good game since 1st Feb?
  25. Yep, the problem is who comes off today! Dolan least busy but that would mean Gallagher out wide. It would be harsh but if we can get to 70 minutes I wouldn’t mind… Kaminski Nyambe Lenihan JVH Wharton Pickering Buckley Rothwell Travis Dack BBD. Half time now. The ref is 100% going to be told he should have given Pool a penalty, so expect a decision at least against us second half. Need to score a second before that happens.
