  1. On a side note, I was very surprised last Saturday that the pub I called in at Middlesbrough was showing the Spurs-Sunderland match on dodgy foreign tv rather than Sky. And this was a large city centre pub, not a little back street one out of the way.
  2. Inside a plane is normally a better bet than hanging onto the wings. Seriously, Manchester airport is by far the most convenient airport for the north of England as American, United, Continental & US Airways all fly into there. When looking at fares, it can be a gamble on when to book. I've had some excellent transatlantic fares by booking as soon as they are available, and other times have had what I thought where reasonable fares only to see them plummet a few months later. Generally I do some research on Expedia or Opodo first and see what their special fares come out and then check the individual airline websites as sometimes they can be a lot cheaper (and sometimes a lot more expensive).
  3. Tying Samba down to a long term deal and ensuring that Nelsen and Samba play together week-in, week-out, is a way to build a long term defensive line. Add in Warnock and Emerton (on the assumption Bert plays like he did last year and not like he did the year before) and we've got a pretty strong back four for the next few years. With back-up of Zurab, Ooijer, Berner and Henchoz... I'm more than happy with the defence Sparky has constructed.
  4. And where did I say that? You're making judgements on me now based on one post, just as you seem to be judging Henry's entire personality and level of 'nice bloke-ness' on one or two aspects of his professional life!
  5. I'm fascinated when fans make statements like that. What exactly is it based on? Do you know him personally and see him trip up old grannies on their way to bingo, or spit on passing kids pork pies? Ok, he might have suggested he was staying 'for life' at Arsenal - but in the last few weeks, the situation at the Emirates has changed somewhat. Perhaps he was naive for making such a grand comment, but I can't see how he can judged as 'not a good bloke' for this or taking the odd alledged dive.
  6. Why shouldn't Alan post editorial comment? His sig states: "[views are]... based solely on the authors point of view and not those of the sites administrators or moderators." It's a different slant on news than is offered by up to the minute sources such as BBC, Sky or any other number of other sites. Haven't people been saying in the 'way forward' thread that brfcs.com can't really compete on the breaking news front? I like the approach Alan's trying to adopt here.
