So why the secrecy? Why no announcement from the owners, CEO etc. at a fans forum meeting or on twitter to reassure concerns?
If it is a mechanism to overcome FFP then how come we slashed costs in the summer, sold Armstrong for £15 million and spent a couple of hundred grand on a full back from Lincoln and have failed to secure any senior players to new deals despite a critical need to do so? A £16.6 million boost to the accounts along with the Armstrong cash would surely put us in a great position to resolve the above?
They have created a situation where we have only 9000 fans turning up. You make it sound as though they are innocent powerless bystanders in that. Want more than 9000? Don't run the club like this and let Mowbray and Waggott continue. Appoint a commercial director. Get a kit manufacturer that delivers shirts to sell.
They have created these problems. Maybe this is a way to overcome it. So what happens in another couple of years when there are no more assets to sell off and crowds have dwindled further/we are in League One due to a lack of investment?
Investment is linked by the constraints of FFP due to low income.
I don't in any way believe Venky's are as you surmise, far from it.
As other posters have intimated, there appear to be changes in the club, new appointments , a leaner organisation, but for reasons beyond our thoughts, do not seem to want to announce these.
At the end of this season, we drop off, within the 3 year cycle, an expensive recruitment season. With Armstrong's sale and this cash injection through the training ground, hopefully allied to the expected departure of Mowbray and Waggot, we may be looking to a brighter future,
On non attendance, my father stopped going after the Wembley 1960 debacle.
When we were at our lowest ebb, early1970's he started attending again. He ruefully remarked that his non attendance had achieved nothing, only the demise of the club and denying him watching the club he loved.

The amount of paranoia on here is frightening.
It's a way of creating funds outside of FFP.
I would be more worried if they did nothing and allowed us to run the club on income generated by 9,000 fans.
Regardless of all the mistakes , ignorance, complacency and arrogance portrayed by our owners, in the cold light of day we are poorly supported. I don't disagree with people's personal motives for non-attendance, but FFP will always restrict our growth due to the lack of income.

Devil's advocate mode on:
The owners have confirmed their continuing commitment to the Club by pumping in a further £16m worth of funding and have shown for the first time that they are prepared to be creative in an attempt to get round FFP.
At last a bit of common sense.

Exactly. A goalkeeper with minimal long term experience who was 22 is much more likely surely to sign long term compared to a goalkeeper coming into his peak years.
I meant I bet Pears couldn't believe his luck.

You would suspect that Kaminski is not on a longer term deal because of his unwillingness to commit for such a long time as a goalkeeper in his peak, moving to a new country, not wanting to tie himself down for too long initially.
Pears conversely ecstatic on being offered a 4yr deal.

Another reference to fitness levels and intensity of training.
When is the intensity of training going to come to fruition?
We have, as last season, not seen a performance where our fitness levels in a match seem superior to the opposition.

We are 9th in league and overall I would imagine The owners and Waggott are happy with it so far.
What was your expectations league position wise at the start of the season and would you take 9th place finish at the start of the season?
They was no negative chanting towards Mowbray during the game. Did you hear anything?
Another example of accepting mediocrity, the whole set up reeks of complacency , hence as I suspect do the players not willing to renew contracts.
The whole set-up needs a refresh, starting at the top.

It really is a strange situation down at Ewood, poor crowds, an inevitability that we will not break into the top six.
A manager who consistently makes the same mistakes regarding tactics.
Sat at half time knowing that we would at the very least, be hanging on to 3 points at best.
There needs to be a spark.
A CEO that has alienated thousands of supporters by unrealistic ticket pricing, lack of a local board of directors with their finger on the pulse.
An acceptance of mediocrity, whilst relying on an absentee owner to plough ridiculous amounts of money to keep us afloat, albeit through their own mis-management
Can only assume that the players not agreeing to renew contracts can see that the future at Ewood is far from rosy.
There has to be a point when major decisions have to be made about the current set-up from top to bottom.

There is not enough bite in midfield, no strength or defensive nous.
Mowbray wants to play tombola, no consistency other than the inability to hold on to a lead, never mind a clean sheet.
3 at the back doesn't work,
Substitutions other than Brereton, like bringing schoolboys on to a man's game.

Well credit where its due, some decent offerings there.
It does beg the question of where was this kind of imagination pre season though.
I saw us advertising for a new head of marketing (not 100% on the job title but it was marketing related). I wonder if this role has been filled and its that person's first key decision. If so maybe things are looking a bit more promising. Or maybe it's a direct result of Waggott talking to the fans in previous away games.
Clearly the influence of new personnel will hopefully shake the club out of its Covid slumber.
Whether circumstances around the furlough of staff, or the delay in appointing new people contributed to the pre-season malaise, is up for debate.
The season ticket package is as generous as can be expected without undercutting full season ticket holders, but the adjustment to walk on prices is one that hopefully will encourage people to attend.
Cue another Mowbray death spiral.

So if there's a massive restructuring behind the scenes, why all the cloak and dagger innuendo.

If we keep getting results, attendances will improve
Not at the walk on prices at present, totally out of context with the area and situation.
If walk on prices were realistic, and conversely season tickets were aligned price wise, then perhaps, but for this season it is a catastrophe.

My understanding is the same as yours, but by clearing out the old guard on massive (for Rovers) salaries the rolling average will give a new manager more leeway than Mowbray has had.
The FFP calculations take in previous two years and the projection for this season.
We have obviously had to reign in our salary levels as a consequence of the mis-management and Covid effect.
So any new manager would not have the usual "new money" bounce, this presumably ties in with the supposed u-turn on sacking Mowbray.
We are effectively on a self imposed embargo, due to the profligacy of the previous 2 seasons.
Not really surprising that in April whilst a decision had been made, the lack of funds made the position unattractve to potential managers.

Could the strategy be explained by the coincidence of Mowbrays contract and the FFP cycle?
So basically Mowbray limping on with no investment to clear the FFP balance and then giving someone new a clean slate with significant resources in the summer?
It's my understanding the 3 year cycle is rolling, not a 3 year cycle and start again.

The comparison between Souness and Mowbray one you would die for, and one you would fall asleep listening to.
The choice is yours.

Rangers central defender George Edmundson has agreed a 3 year deal with an unnamed club, doubt it will be us but I always though he was fairly impressive anytime I saw him play for Rangers, he would be an instant upgrade on Ayala since he isn't made of glass
Most likely Derby County.

Bolton have allocated areas that have social distancing, if people require.
I know of a few Rovers season ticket holders that would prefer some flexibility on season tickets, be it social distance seating, TV coverage, flexibility as per Covid restrictions.
The silence from Ewood is embarrassing.
Presume with projected sales of tickets, the club assume social distancing will not be a problem.
A supporter lost rarely returns.

If everything is viewed as negative, then that's paranoia.
The only problem regarding points deductions is the relative amount of the sale, Derby and Sheff Wednesday were massively disproportionate to the actual value..
90% of non attendees will not return if Venky's depart, that is the crux.
