  1. a few good players here lads. "Bojan" from the barcelona youth team. he is a strikerhe is rating for finishing is 20, so can't get any higher. also, the rest of his attributes are very good and he is only a young lad still. "daniel sturridge", young english lad, a striker and again has very good attributes and will bang in 20+ goals for you every season. and lastly, marc crosas, forget which club i signed him from, but he is spanish and a defensive midfielder, he has been an excellent signing for me and in tandem with joey barton in central midfield....a very good partnership.

  2. I am now convinced that lucas really does have NO idea, what planet he is living on at the moment. he has just been on australian television, regarding his move to the hammers and out of his gob came (and i quote) "Moving to west ham is a massive step forward for me, compared to where i was at blackburn":lol::lol::lol:

  3. I am not angry at lucas for leaving rovers, not at all. however i think i would speak for nearly all rovers fans in saying that we are all more baffled and perplexed.....in his reasons for choosing west ham

In the interviews he has given since agreeing terms with the hammers, some of the things he said also confuse me.."it is about being wanted", lucas, rovers have had an offer of a new contract on the table for the best part of 12 months now, and i believe have more than once tried to renegotiate the terms of that contract, with improved numbers...so if it is about being wanted, then there is only one club he should have still been playing at next weekend. not just to rovers fans, but probably to liverpool supporters aswell and footy fans in general his move to london just defies all kinds of logic, in terms of football. rovers in the uefa cup, top half of the league and progressing in the fa cup. even better, a move to a club who are into the last 16 of the champions league, top 6 in the premier league......:huh:

some people on here have an issue with lucas because of the things he has said in the print media and on numerous interviews, aswell as the silly thing he did after scoring against nancy at ewood.....if he doesn't do any of that and just says " i would like to leave for something new".....then IMO nobody on here can grumble at him and call him everything under the sun, all he has done is given folks the ammunition of which to fire at him.

what his move south shows me is that he has absolutely NO ambition. it shows that he thinks he is too good to want to fight for a place at one of the worlds great football clubs, in liverpool fc.

  4. I am a little emotional this morning people. I have just taken rovers to the fa cup final where we beat spurs 2-0, and here is the team that did it:

    1) Zak Jones

    2) Glen Johnson

    3) Stephen Warnock

    4) Joey Barton

    5) Ryan Nelson

    6) Jack Hobbs

    7) David Bentley

    8) Steven Reid

    9) Matt Derbyshire

    10) Keith Barker

    11) Morten gamst

    Subs:

    Freidel

    emerton

    mcarthy

    denilson

    Ratinho

what is even better is that we played all games away from home. denilson is quality, 19yrs from brazil and gonna be a very good player.

  5. So it was about money and not ambition after all. After the Dunny signing I'm happy tonight but now we need a new decent full-back

I have to agree with you ciren. the fact that lucas always said it wasn't about the money but more about ambition/change of scenery....what a tit!! he was playing in the knockout phase of the uefa cup, then had a golden chance to go to the champions league knockout phase with liverpool and now, because of his greed, is going to be playing for a team that is in neither of the euro competitions and fighting for a place in the premier league.

we all would like more moeny to do our jobs, but has this guy got rocks in his head

  6. Read back through this thread Blueboy and you will see the pain that this bloke has cost me. After 4 seasons of having him and trying to get him a work permitt with out sucsess I let him go on a free (he was worth about 8m too) tried to sign him again on a free and it said that I still couldnt get him a work permit.

Anyway, he now plays for Fulham

oh cocker, please don't say that to me. i think i am gonna have to cut my losses and try and sell him and then try to get him back, cause he is a fantastic play and very useful in the squad. what formation do you play??

i still need to know where i can go to apply for a work permit

  7. i have just signed lebohang mokoena from orlando pirates in south africa, but i am being told that he needs a work permit and because of this i am not allowed to play him in any of my teams, wether it be 1st, reserves or u18's. during the in game, how do i apply for a work permit for him??

i would have thought that sending him out on loan to my affiliate club would be the way to go.

  8. Don't be ridiculous Brownie. Neill is perfectly entitled to move on and I know your view is in the light of Lucas being your best mate or something but there is no way at all he should play against Liverpool. It will be a tough enough game as it is and his long term loyalties must clearly lie with them not us.

Whether he plays against Arsenal, Boro and Wigan is a different matter entirely. I've no doubt Hughes will pick him if he feels he is sufficiently committed. Personally I still wouldn't pick him if Emerton is available, and he definitely shouldn't still be in possession of the armband.

come on rev, of course he should play against liverpool. i know that he has lost a lot of respect from fans on this board for the things he has said in the media to try and engineer a move away from rovers, but his professionalism as a pro footballer (on the day) should see his immediate loyalties with the club that pays his wages. liverpool fans would agree aswell i dare say. if he does play, which i am sure that sparky will pick him, and it is obvious that he is playing and ducking out of tackles then the scousers won't like it either.

  9. i would agree with that bazza. i also think it is another case of a player leaving rovers for what they percieve to be sunny climbs, and for it all to not work out how they wanted. which only begs the question that the players would be asking themselves "should i have left rovers in the first place"?? i think lucas will find out when he leaves next month.

we have had some outstanding footballers play for us only for them to leave, and it is my belief that it is because although we had those outstanding players, we couldn't really get the job done on the international level.

    duffer/dunn...bring em both back!!

  10. somebody who wants to leave to the club, whilst we as fans should not boo a rovers player just because he is leaving, he should NEVER be given the captaincy because his heart and committment are not with this club. whats more, i am struggling to come up with a reason why sparky continues to give him the captains armband, when it is plainly obvious that lucas won't be signing a new contract, now or at any time in the future. i would maybe give the armband to andre ooijer or tugay!!

  11. Superstella - i totally agree matey. for a long time now pedersen has been very very mediocre at best and i think we are in trouble if all we have to rely on in that position is a young kid not 20 years old yet (i think). off the top of my head i can think of possibly 3 positions on the field that we need to make an upgrade.

  12. when we have taken the lead against a team, and then maybe score again, then aaron in front of the back four is a useful player. however, only in that instance is he any good to us. if we are chasing a game then there is absolutely no point in leaving him out on the pitch or even leaving him on the bench. he has no footballing skills and in my opinion, is really only good at cutting out the long ball before it gets to our defence. if it came down to it, then i would not be sad to see him go as i reckon sav could do a much better job in that position.

  13. i don't think we are punching above our weight, as i reckon we should be higher in the table, much higher!!

we began the season with a almost a fully fit squad, as i think it was nelly that was the only long term injury at the time. fast forward to the 23rd of november and in my eyes a combination of poor performances, injuries and so many games in such a short space of time has caught up with us. the sooner we get rediy and nelly back playing again, then you'll see that with a full strength squad we will move up the table.

  14. i am not an advocate for the video technology, but it is rather frustrating that decisions made rightly or wrongly are having a profound effect on games. me, i am more in favour of the following - if in the case that a player is brought down, much like the incident with tuges yesterday, and the penalty is converted, then tugay would stay on the park. however, if the penalty is missed then the red card is what i would say is fair to both teams. just can't have the double wammy like that, a goal conceded and a red card, when the ref wasn't even gonna send him off until he had spoke with his linesman.
