  1. colin..its not just the innept refs, the over zelous stewards, the @#/? served up,the no terracing ....its some of everything....i used to buzz on a friday ready for saturday whether it be home or away(i actually had the buzz back 2 weeks ago albeit when i went to mile hile) its a case of going out of duty at the moment and the will to go is being drained.

  2. The spirit of the game for some of the Blackburn enders has certainly been tarnished with the club issueing threatening letters to certain individuals. This is bang out of order and the people in charge of the club need to repremand these club employees who instigated such proceedings.

the spirit of the blackburn end is slowly but surely being sucked away...

  3. We should be careful on this thread, that we don't confuse the situation.  I don't think we should be discussing the issue of standing/sitting during games. The issue is what was going on in the BBE last Saturday.

The club must realise that at this time, with the fans pretty much up to the teeth with the so called football on display for the last couple of seasons and drifting away in hordes, that even THREATENING to throw the fans out, is counter productive to the extreme.

Hopefully, during the Liverpool game, the stewards will take a much more tolerant view and we wont see a repeat of last weekend.

    That's my viewpoint, anyway.

With all respect Den IMO this interlinked and was the basis of the problem -including what was happening on the pitch.

The club insist that no-one has been ejected because of standing. I suspect that as long as the fans in the BBE don't start to stand en-masse [like that? smile.gif ], that particular problem wont crop up.

But if they start ejecting people again on the slightest whim of misbehaviour, then big trouble awaits.

That's all I'm saying, the club must tread very carefully and the fans must also behave.

someones lying then den because the lad 2 rows in front of me had his season ticket removed for standing.....the club say he got it back but his mates say he hasnt and hes not been on for the last two games...you say earlier its only a thread for last saturday but beg to differ because its been ongoing for three/four games now.

  4. Kiwi,

Having made my views to John Newsham and Stuart Caley via email twice in the last fortnight (and very reasonable I was too!) and neither of them having the courtesy to even reply speaks volumes about the way these individuals operate.

That doesn't totally suprise me. This matter has been mentioned on several occasions at meetings when John Newsham was present. I know many fans have communicated their concerns to the club and they have known about this issue for a long time.

The attitude I have always found is that they will not listen to us because, as long as Rovers fans stand up, we are in the wrong.

Early in the match today you could count the number of Rovers fans in the BBE standing on your hands, while nearly half of the Boro fans stood for the whole match! What happened today was unpleasant - I hope it is a wake-up call for the club to act.

thats true hardly anyone stood up until the boro fans started banging the windows and the police started on the home fans.....fair dos standing not alloweed but lets have it enforced on both sets of fans..

  5. do not blame the ref. Tugay was a complete and utter pillock and this was a sending off tackle never mind the earlier yellow and it was 2 or 3 meters from the ref.

I cannot see where the next point, never mind win will come from. Perhaps the site should have a betting page with any profit going to pay off the contracts of Reid, Tugay, Amo Neil etc.

Also does anyone have the email address for Bob Coar or Williams so they can can understand what the fans really think and home much we really care.

Time for a bucket of ale. mad.gif

I know it was bad and tugs was stupid but how can he get 2 yellows and boro not even one for the exact same thing ...sorry but for the league to let someone who works in nelson college .... wink.gif allegedly.....ref a blackburn football match again after sending lucas off last season buggers belief.

  6. it was a disgrace today i sit in front of the guy arrested and it was totally wind up by the stewards again who stood there staring all game and then the police came and just stood there but it all started by the monkey hangers banging on the windows and giving wa???kers signs to the rovers fans....WELL MR WILLIAMS IF THE ANSWER IS TO LET AWAY FANS STAND ALL GAME WHILST SHIITTING ON YOUR HOME FANS(OUR SEASON TIX KEEP YOU IN A JOB REMEMEBER) AND THEN LET CORPARARTE OOOOPSSS SILLY ME YOUD RATHER HAVE THERE COIN THAN OUR PEASANT ONES BANG AND HARRANG THE HOME FANS ..THEN YOU WILL GET YOUR WISH NEXT SEASON WHEN YOU WILL HAVE ANOTHER 5 THOUSAND BLUE SEATS EMPTY FOR THE PRECIOUS AWAY FANS BECAUSE ITS GETTING TIO THE POINT WERE U CAN SHOVE IT UP YOUR ASS. mad.gif

  7. There can only be one winner-

                                                    Stuart Ripley

There speaks the voice of experience.

To anyone who does not vote for Bryan Douglas, the greatest player to wear a blue and white shirt, I hereby give warning that I shall personally come round to their hovel and stand on their heads.

    thats me decided DONISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

    BRING IT ON JIMBO biggrin.gif

  8. Happens in the states all the time, at sporting events and concerts. The only time incidents have happened is because there were no seats, it was "festival" style standing (essentially the same as terrace). If there are no seats to stop you from moving forward, it's a lot easier to crush someone.

Then you put metal bars up every so often to stop this happening...it's bloody easy.

I'm not of the opinion that one disaster out of goodness knows how many matches should still be affecting our game. That might upset some people but if we re-acted like this with every incident that happened then there'd be nothing left in this world, we'd have no cars, no trains, no planes...

There were lessons to be learned from the incident, better regulations of ticketing, better policing and stewarding, support bars to prevent crowd surging...but to abolish the whole thing entirely has took away something from the game I feel.

GOD BLESS THE MILE HIGH STADIUM......................................

    IN~~@O SUX

  9. not only did we get letters but the lad in front of me has his season ticket taken off him and as been banned....i had a go at the police for the villa fans standing up and was told ALTHOUGH ITS LAW IT WAS NOWT TO DO WITH THEM.

ON THE LETTERS WE GOT IT BASICALLY SAID SIT DOWN OR ELSE BUT AWAY FANS CAN STAND UP .

At the back of the darwen end there was one guy in a white jumper who was not only stood up but stood on the staeps right in front of 2 stewards who never batted an eyelid and they even walked around him to get by.

The police at the bottom of the blackburn had their video camera out as well.

If it wasnt for my little lad i would give the ungrateful concerned my season ticket back.Lets have it right the same rules apply to both sets of fans but just to take the cowardly bully boy tactics in the blackburn end way out and ban people is the best way to entice more fans in ....

as we sang... sh!t on your home fans.

more empty seats bet your ass there will be.....btw i was a good lad today and sat down and couldnt see the first two goals.

then at 1/2 time my mates lad was playing footy with a plastic bottle and this female steward stopped them and said she was going to throw him out ,he said she would have to let his dad know and she said she would do no such thing.

ive never had a more unjoyable day at rovers before and if this is the way its going to be they can stick their 380 quid up the ass

  10. did you put 1 hour at sandbach.

The tickets start as was said earlier from about 20 quid up to whatever you want to pay ie 1000+ for boxes.im actually paying £54 for my first ever visit ,thats only because my aunts appendix burst on the day of tickets going on sale, and i/we missed out on the cheaper tickets.

as capn says anything over 30 and they can shove it because its a rip off.

I remember season tickets being 30 quid and its not that long ago,i trhink it was only 75 for my first premier game. For those who are slagging people off for not paying it ...ARE YOU ON AN AVERAGE WAGE,WITH A MORTGAGE,CAR ,BILLS ,XMAS ETC.?Because its a big chunk out of peoples earnings.
