He probably will...………..now.

Ouch!?

I'm a bit shocked that K-Hod hasn't stepped in to sort out this little circle jerk of mutual misery. (well, when I say shocked...……….)

I imagine most messageboards up and down the country resemble the moaning/frustration on here tbf. I can't be arsed looking but will Burnley be happy signing just Pieters and Rodriguez? I very much doubt it. Preston with losing arguably their best player and only signing Bauer.
There are clubs, a lot of them who have done a lot less business than us, at least we haven't lost anyone of note either.
IF Mowbray doesn't sign a CB and a keeper by the start of the season he loses pretty much all credibility for me, but hopefully it won't come to that. I point blank refuse to believe he will do a complete U turn on his comments about defenders coming in. If he didn't bring both in hes either A) lost the plot been told he can't because someone is still meddling in transfers and thinks defenders are irrelevant.
I lost belief in TM during that horrible run last season (not enough to join in with the ridiculous whinging though) If he doesn't sign a keeper and big, nasty, preferably experienced Centre Back that would be sackable for me.

The thought of signing anyone, permanently or on loan, from that club gives me the absolute creeps.

in all your honesty could you see yourself if you was a footballer being impressed with mowbray though?
Bradley Dack is...…….so is Danny Graham.

The dozens of Geordies the dingles used to sign in the old days. A pal of mine told me when their reserve team played in the North East in the old Central League days the coach would come back more or less empty after the game. The players would all be staying at home for the weekend. The North East terms were notorious for letting top young players slip through their fingers.
Didn't they have a scout called Hickson or similar who went to work for Southampton and got Shearer down there?

Good luck to him and hope he becomes a success at Ewood.
But in the football mad North east, if he was that good why didn't the likes of Sunderland or Middlesbrough snap him up?
How would you explain Shearer starting his career at Southampton? or Bryan Robson at West Brom? Bobby Charlton at Man Utd? Carrick at West Ham? Beardsley at Carlisle?

That’s what I was thinking. A possible new start down under.
The standard of the A League is pretty poor. If he's serious about his career he'll shelve any down under plans for a few years.

I think we are almost certainly heading towards Carson, Hart or Ruddy.
Hart gets a lot of stick but just like Friedel did, maybe he can restart his career at Ewood.
Ruddy would be my choice but wouldn't complain at either of the other 2.
Carson or Ruddy please. Can't bare having a Dingle cast off.

All these midfielders being linked too...now Butterfield....and I hope you don't mean daft money like the B+M fee for Cairney!
Travis is a good un but I don't see how the club could knock back anything north of 10m.

Just now, Leonard Venkhater said:
Oh God.. Travis would fit into the possible pattern...i.e having been marginalised by TM in the past....I would be with you over that edge!
I'd be pretty pissed off too. What if it was daft money from the Prem though? (Not the Dingles, that cannot happen)

Ya, I actually liked him over the years as well. I would hope that if we do make an offer, serious due diligence will be shown by the medical team during his medical.
It seems Stoke fans wanted him to stay.
On the trials thing. I actually say fair play to him. Some players with his cv would think it beneath them to have to come and basically audition for a deal
Mowbray says that Adam contacted him and asked to train with the squad so it doesn't seem like a trial. I agree with your assessment of him as a player but I don't think he's what we need and I doubt there's much in his legs at our level anyway.

Not a chance Gallagher would choose Wigan over us. If he goes to Wigan it’s because we’ve decided to go elsewhere. We’ve got the money.
Hope you're right (about the money if not Gallagher) I'm not sure about him but you can see how this will be spun if he joins Wigan. This place will be more toxic than Chernobyl.

Do you reckon?
I'm agnostic about the Bauer thing but if Gallagher chose Wigwam over us that would seriously damage my moral!

Says from the sun on sky sports. So probably Nixon.
Says palace asking for too much money at present .
Only played 50 games 8n last 3 seasons
He'll be relatively fresh then.
I'm not overly excited as I thought he was ok whilst with us (albeit I only saw him live a couple of times). He wouldn't justify the wages for me and there were rumours of him being a wrong un as well (offered a Rovers fan out at Bolton by some accounts)
Keep searching I reckon.

Nailed it. But who needs nuance when you can have hyperbole?

Where's your view of Adam being a go getter from? Was great for Blackpool but since then a bit part player who has never made that much of an impression. Only played 13 games last season in an average stoke side that finished below us. Can't really see how anyone can expect him to do well.
He's got quality but he's had that for a long time and done little with it. At least Johnson and Downing played a lot of games last season and performed well by a lot of accounts.
Got to agree on Adam. He was never the most athletic and there have been a number of intervening years since his peak. Even without that he would seem superfluous to our requirements. Whilst accepting that Adam is a talented footballer I'd be concerned if we're hanging our hat on him. No sign of that just yet but I'm not keen on him padding out the squad and eating into the wage bill.

I see that Raya is on the way to saint status and a hybrid of Joan of Arc and Gordon Banks. I'm shocked.

Good age for a keeper, experienced at top level, taller than Raya...………..and free. Sounds like he's worth a punt (leaving extra to spend on a bully of a Centre Half)
