Yes. I thought he looked disinterested when he came on. And he can't play anyway. Get rid

Absolutely. I think I've seen him touted as a potential replacement for Graham. He has a mountain to climb to achieve his level of professionalism, game intelligence and finishing ability. Obviously he doesn't have Graham's experience but crucially, on what I've seen of him, Nuttall doesn't have his ability either.

    Cheers, I aim to please.

Try not to be so sensitive. Suggesting someone is interested in building a good pension is hardly the same as calling someone corrupt. We all need a little nest egg, and if that comes through finishing in the bottom half year after year and dumbing down expectation then so be it. It's pays to be prudent(ial).

I hope this response has cleared up any misunderstanding.

Try not to critique people's personalities when faced with a legitimate question.

You're one of the main contributors on here and your content is 90% negativity towards the manager. Some of it, in my opinion is unfounded ("finishing in the bottom half year after year"?) so I think it's reasonable to ask why.

For what it's worth, I have lost faith in him and think we can  do better but suggesting that he's at the club purely to feather his nest has no basis in fact and being asked why you posted that seem fairly reasonable.

Definitely, looks more like a footballer than most of the other members of the team. If Mowbray is looking for players who can keep possession, then he’s the best placed young player we have......in my view anyway.

That's sort of encouraging. I remember the Academy being criticised a few years back for producing athletes instead of footballers. Is that the case with this current crop?

Yes. Tony and Steve are building a pension club. It will take years.

A few weeks ago we engaged on the subject of TM and I asked why you were so down on him. To paraphrase you said something to the effect that you liked him but you didn't buy his "open, honest" reputation and that you believed that he'd say what was necessary to placate the fans and the owners. How have you gone from that to this which seems to suggest that, at best, he's underhand and at worst he's corrupt?

By the way you did great work on finding his quote on leaving Coventry and I admit that it shook my confidence in him.

Johnson has been back at Rovers for 4 years, which is an age in football.

I'll bow to your superior knowledge on that. I'm not aware of any suggestion that he'll move on (unless someone can illuminate me on that as well!) although I'd be surprised if clubs higher up the food chain aren't casting envious eyes in his direction. If such a club comes in then I'm not sure how much we'd be able to do about that. Maybe we should enjoy his work while he's here.

I don't think anyone has built him up it's just everyone is expecting that one to go through.

I saw him play against Sunderland at the start of the season, big chap seemed OK but impossible to judge a centre half in league 1 to see if he could play in this league.

If Bauer is decent and available on a free then I'd imagine that it's far from a forgone conclusion that he's joining Rovers. If there's no competition for his signature then that would concern me.

I think perhaps people have been a bit too circumspect with him to be honest. How many times does it have to happen before somebody has a go at him for it? He keeps making the same mistakes - how many goals have been down to him in the last few months?

I think he has the potential to be a really good keeper. His shotstopping is as good as anyones but something has to be done to cut out all these mistakes. He is not a tall keeper so I would be telling him to not bother coming for balls like that and to just stay on his line. Friedel knew he was pretty bad at coming for crosses so just wouldnt do it.

Probably lessons in that incident for two relatively young players. Lenihan, who seems like a natural leader, should perhaps curb his frustration and dish out the bollockings in the dressing room. The lessons for Raya are more obvious and urgent.

Lenihan future captain. Loved how he tore Raya a new one. Mulgrew usually just walks away looking at the ground.

I get where you're coming from and I liked his passion and frustration. Raya should take responsibility for his error and his recent poor form but if, as has been suggested, his confidence is fragile shouldn't Lenihan have been a bit more circumspect?

And if we are good its down to Mowbray's managing and if we are crap its not his fault?

I'm not sure where you got that from but I've never said that at all. When we've been in good run of form most people on here are fairly sanguine without getting carried away (with one or two eye rolling exceptions). We've been  terrible  this calendar year and I've posted on here that the managers position had become untenable. I just haven't said it about 500 times.

You say that like it's a succession of posts, when it's one at best.....

I said that there was a negative reaction which there was. There was no suggestion of a number of posts or "succession". I'm not sure how you reached that conclusion?

I'd be guardedly optimistic if both or either player were to sign. I'd at least hold the opprobrium for a few weeks.

  11. We're being linked with a couple of tall central defenders which I'm under the impression that we really need (certainly the goals against column suggests so). Granted, it's early days and said Centre Backs aren't Van Dijk pedigree but still, why the negative reaction to this speculation?

After the cool breeze of the dynamic young England side I suppose it's back to the fetid, dreich misery of this place.

  12. I've only seen Dack over Christmas and New Year of this season and wasn't overly impressed. Obviously, that's a very small window on his Ewood career and regulars tell me he's special. There was talk of a fee north of 20m if he went which seemed very optimistic. Is that sort of fee (or a fee that might fund a rebuild) still seen as being realistic?

  13. I'm really sorry about the way things have gone. For me Tony Mowbray has been such a force for good at the club but our form since December (excluding a brief pick up) has been as alarming as it is unacceptable. Our defensive frailty and TM's seeming inability to address it makes me very concerned about next season. I don't want the players getting off scot free though. So many platitudes about what a great coach and guy the boss is but those platitudes evaporate once some of them cross the touchline. If they are even vaguely aware of our owners previous they'll know that they are unpredictable and liable to pull the trigger on Mowbray at the next concession of 3/4/5 away goals.

If TM survives to the start of next term and we get an iffy start it's doubtful he'll survive the October sacking season. What the **** do we do then?

    Who's Derekkkk ?

It's a terrible user name but one I'm stuck with. Deryck Guyler was a comic actor from 60s and 70s sitcoms. I once had a drunken disagreement with someone as to whether or not he was also an accomplished spoon player. Apparently he wasn't. Not the first or last time I was to be proved wrong.
