  1. Get it right... He didn't get rid of Berg, Berg got rid of himself by refusing a contract extension. Utter rubbish. Henning wanted to stay but your great manager wanted Amaruso so badly. Dont even think about calling Berg, one of Blackburn Rovers best players in the last decade above an arrogant, self centred, bigotted, aggressive man who cant even admit to his own mistakes. Now from the quality wordsmanship of that post I don't know whether the "bigot" you are refering to is Amoruso or Souness (since you seem to have an unbound hatred for both in equal measure). Either way you are talking nothing but malicious garbage. Amoruso was the first Catholic to captain the (tragically) historically Protestant Glasgow Rangers. Souness was the first manager of said club to sign a Catholic (an ex-Celt, no less). He is also married to a Catholic lady. As for your "unable to admit to his own mistakes" thing, again, nonsense. Amoruso has fully admitted that he has not started well at Rovers. Souness, well didn't he quickly get shot of Diawara, Sukur and Unsal after it became obvious that they weren't working out?
  2. Who cares what Sunderland fans did? What does it have to do with us? To say something like two players being the sole reason a club had a successful season is nothing short of idiotic, really sums up about everything else you've said since joining this board full of old men that you hate posting on. 175 posts of smug, contradictory bullsh**.
  3. Serious bad news regarding Cole. It would be nice to see Gally given a start against Liverpool in the CC to see how he copes.
  4. Well McLeish has won more trophies in a year and a half than O'Neill has in over three years.
  5. Yep, 451, outrageously defensive, that'll never work for anyone. Oh, hang about, Fulham just went to Old Trafford and won 3-1.
  6. Having an opinion most people are opposed to is one thing, moaning like a spoiled brat when things start going wrong is quite another. People like Jim and Revidge are an example of the former, rover6 is an example of the...erm...other one.
  7. We've had bad runs in every season under Souness, but the board never reacted stupidly. 00-01 - started very poorly, eventually got the finger out after about 12 games and finished second. 01-02 - appaling in the second third of the season. Did the board panic and sack Souey? Or did they let him dig us out of trouble so that we finished halfway up the table and won the League Cup? 02-03 - none quite as damaging/sustained as the previous two seasons, but we overcame the occasional dip in form to take points off of every team in the top 5 and finished6th in the 'difficult' second season back in the big time.
  8. Strange, I think the first album is the best of the three (Rated R being the worst). Regular John is an amazing song.
  9. How about listing the most disappointing purchases we've made recently? I'll start with: Evil Empire by Rage Against The Machine (yes I know I ought to have heard it ages ago) was a real let down next to the quality of the first album The Golden Age Of Grotesque is nowhere near the standard I'd come to expect from Marilyn Manson (apart from Smells Like Children, it was God-awful). Winterheart's Guild by Sonata Arctica. Strange, this one sounded great when the guy in the shop was playing it, but when I heard it at home it was just keyboard-heavy generic Power Metal.
  10. I picked up my mate's copy of Dark Moon by David Gemmell a couple of days ago and realised after the first chapter that I had to read all of it. Got it through the door via Amazon yesterday and I've hardly put it down since, it's really superb. Anyone familiar with his other works?
  11. The Darkness sound nothing like Iron Maiden. And I do mean nothing. Completely different style of music.
  12. Sorry for posting twice so close together, but........... The Darkness are not "ironic" or a Spinal Tap band or whatever. What they are is a Classic Rock band (not Metal) that wear the same ridiculous clothes as that original Classic Rock bands did back in the 70s/80s. Which in some people's eyes makes them a joke. It's not like they're some overnight sucess story like all the Pop 'ldle' dirges out there, they've been gigging and writing songs for years.
  13. Got Dance of Death through the door this morning, and it sounds great on the first listening. Rainmaker and Montsegur in particular are superb. I've also been listening to a lot of Manowar recently - cheesy Heavy F**king Metal at it's best
  14. Oh I see what you did there. :'> Much as I like Darkness, I'm afraid they're paving the way for a wave of crappy 70s-style bands like the terrible Kings of Leon, just like all the crappy "The" bands that were dragged along behind The Strokes hype wagon. Most recent purchases: Ecliptica and Winterhearts's Guild by Sonata Arctica, A Night at the Opera by Blind Guardian and Sword's Song by Battlelore.
  15. ........Good Charlotte, I could write a f**king book here.......... .....but I won't.
  16. Got my Maiden ticket on Saturday. Roll on December.
  17. On a similar (but not identical) subject has anyone noticed that the chorus of the most recent "song" by Girls Aloud has pretty much the same music as Wonderwall? Sampling/covering is one thing, but plagirism..........
  18. I disagree. Zack voice was so much more original and grungy than Chris. Also Zack was a lyric genius and knew how to rock...hard. Some of you have real bad taste: What to listen to: Mudvayne System Of A Down Metallica Glassjaw Alkaline Trio [spunge] The Libertines Less Than Jake none of this 'fiddy cent' crap Mudvayne System Of A Down Glassjaw Alkaline Trio [spunge] The Libertines Less Than Jake great selection of well respected great performers there. bad taste? I'd leave System out of that list before shooting it down - they're a cut above this Nu-Metal/"Grindcore" crap polluting the airwaves. The rest are truely gash though - Mudvayne make Slipknot sound like Mozart.
  19. I got see The Darkness perfroming *free* for about in hour in Virgin on Saturday at a signing. Well worth the cramp in my calf muscles!
  20. It was always my opinion that nu-metal guitar "players" didn't solo because, with all that sacreligious drop-tuning they do it would sound awful. That, plus the fact it's easier to make a radio-friedly song with no bothersome widdly-widdly bit in the middle.
  21. Black album is the most over-rated metal album in history. The production on St. Anger is dreadful, and the songs still aren't growing on me which is worrying. Too many strained vocals and lyrics that would fit into songs by he likes of Korn for my liking. And again, no solos.
  22. The last albums I bought (same day) were one by Pegazus and Heaven and Hell by Black Sabbath. The latter definitely shows Tony Iommi (and not Osbourne) was the driving force behind Sabbath - Dio's vocals are excellent too.
  23. Aren't Zwan meant to be the anti-Pumpkins? As in all chirpy-happy-crappy as opposed to manic depessive? I don't really like either of them, Corgan's voice does my nut in.
