  1. ...and it's the first day of the Download Festival in Glasgow today. As if it's not enough of a kick in the teeth that bands like Slayer and Cradle of Filth are playing the dates in Donington but missing this one, the b'stards have the audacity to charge more money for the first day tickets than the second because Metallica are playing. I'd have considered going as well if the prices were equalled out, but to pay £45 to see one really good band and a shower of crap ones....no thanks.
  2. Some people will never be happy unless were signing ronaldo or henry Erasing the last 6 words of the sentence would make it a bit more accurate. I'm of the opinion that he'll be a good signing for the money - he works extremely hard, has a bit of pace and can score a few in the Prem, which is good enough for me. The speculation about him replacing Cole had better be as ridiculous as it sounds, though.
  3. No, but I've neen given a copy of Chilfren of Bodom's Follow The Reaper in preperation for seeing them live in.......*quick mental calculation*.......12 days. I guess it's almost the same thing.
  4. Personally I find Jet about as appealing as Superman does Kryptonite, but that's just me. Although has noone else noticed that the song mentioned blatantly rips off Iggy Pop's Lust For Life?
  5. I got a second hand copy of Blind Guardian's Tales From The Twilight World for £5 the other day which is just fantastic when HMV sell all their albums for £17 at the very least.
  6. I finished Dante's Inferno today, as well as Porno by Irvine Welsh (I know you aren't meant to read two books at once, but hey, I'm a rebel).Porno omly took a couple of days to read and a great deal of it was very entertaining and often endearing (prettymuch any of the chapters narrated by Spud). Often, though, it was just a case of the same thing happening over and over again with different dialogue. I guess the key difference between it and Trainspotting (which pi$$es all over it) was that it had a plot. I've now moved onto reading Seventh Son by Orson Scott Card, which is really nothing at all like I expected but I'm finding it enthralling in a very strange sort of way.
  7. Michael Moore writes great works of imaginative fiction. Oh no, wait, they're not even well written. I've read better kids books.
  8. Bloody hell, I never thought I'd see that post.
  9. I was pretty shocked to find I quite like Morrisey's new tune. He's still a pretentious fool that can't sing though. And I'm still waiting for his lyrics to change my life.
  10. I haven't posted on this topic for a while (honest to God, nearly a full page ), so here's the songs I recently added to my 'mix' minidisc: Arch Enemy - We Will Rise; Blind Guardian - Mirror, Mirror; Children of Bodom - Children of Bodom; Grim Reaper - See You In Hell; Mayhem - Funeral Fog; Slayer - Angel of Death and Apoclyptica's cover of Fade To Black (string quartets covering Metallica songs~~ ).
  11. Possibly because this is the third club he's been discarded from for his unprofessional behaviour? I think claiming that he only booted Kiely in self defence after saying that we don't really know how it happened is a bit off...
  12. Todd has played comparativley well this term. But we still have two (arguably three in Nissa) centre backs that are better than him and I'm not too bothered he's gone - and gone for the exact reason I didn't want us to sign him in the first place. He is a timebomb and I'm frankly surprised the fuse was long enough to last nearly two seasons.
  13. Ronnie Moore, only in their wildest dreams. Seriously, though, he is very underrated as a manager. Bit like Stanleh, I suppose. Crazy Dingles.
  14. I'm reading Dante's Inferno just now, a translation by an Irish chap called Ciaran Crason. Interesting stuff, some of it is inevitably lost in translation though. If only I could learn coloquial (sp!) 13th century Italian. I'm planning to read David Gemmel's current book, The Swords Of Night and Day next, has anyone else read it? The premise sounds like quite a big departure from his usual style.
  15. This has to mean Okocha or Djorkaeff (or possible both) is off in the summer. How could you possibly play those three in the same team?
  16. I don't think anyone here's sticking up for Desailly, Gordon. But Ron was out of order, simple as that. He could have easily have said what he said* without using the word "nigger" and still got his point across. But he didn't and he's got his comeupance. Personally I'll miss his 'Ron-isms' but at least its one Scum fan off the telly. *(is "said what he said" something akin to a double negative I wonder? ) >Post-Edit And here begineth brfcs.com Racial Debate No. 549
  17. Today I got Blizzard of Ozz for 8 quid which is a bargain (back before Ozzy completly lost it). In Avalanche I went to buy a 2nd hand CD by a band called StormHammer only for the guy behind the counter to notice they'd been stupid enough to buy a copied CD from some chancer, so he sold it to me for £2. And it actually works as well (bonus)! Went to see BLAZE last night at the Cathouse, now that's Heavy Chuffin' Metal! Support band Syth were unexpectedly brilliant as well.
  18. Sorry I asked! The video's OK, but i don't really care for flashy promos. Usually a means of covering up a songs inadequecies (sp?).
  19. C'mon dan, do you listen to anyone else?
  20. Me and tucker.....agreeing about music....twice in the same day?? I've changed my mind, Franz Ferdinand are brilliant!
  21. Franz Ferdinand really get to me - in the bad way. What is it with Scottish bands and being guff? Idlewild being a happy exception.
  22. Unless of course you're really a Celtic fan eager to see Souness and his ex-Rangers players ruined. Then relegation for Rovers would be a blessing.
  23. Interesting little gizmo that... rover6 is usually panned for his posting (often by me ), but at least he sees fit to make posts about football generally and not focus on a single tirade. Tom007's record is comical. KSB's and Jan2's are pathetic.
  24. Further to my slaverings about getting to finally see Blaze in April, I've just go my ticket to see Amen a week earlier, wehey. Bought Judas Priest's Turbo album second hand the other day...WTF? Talk about a let down.
