  1. Whittingham's a very good player for this level. The problem we have and have had for a long while now is, there is very little movement in front of him. The players up front, particularly Graham so far this season, expect the ball laid on a plate for them without them putting any effort into getting into a good position or moving the defenders about to open something up. You could have Pirlo or Scholes in there but with no movement from the front 3, they would be as useful as Whittingham is at present.

  2. GGG vs Alvarez last night. Really good, hard fought fight. Both threw some real bombs that would've taken lesser men's heads off, but both stood up to it unscathed. GGG basically stalked him down and hounded him all fight with Canelo ducking and weaving and moving brilliantly, throwing a few of his own. One right hand came from his toes in the 10th (I think) that should've flattened Golovkin thrice over, but the man is made of iron!

Ended in a draw, but for me GGG should've won by 2 rounds. One of the judges ridiculously marked it 118/110 in favour of Alvarez and quite frankly must've had her seat facing away from the ring to come up with that result. Can't wait for the rematch!

  3. Cleverly / Jack fight much more interesting than  Rocky vs  Thunderlips. I expect a hard fought win in 6 or 7 rounds to Jack though.

On the exhibition fight, Mayweather should jab the @#/? out of him for him 5 or 6 rounds, to give people their money's worth, then lay him out.

  4. Eubank Jr v Arthur Abraham last night. Was a really good workout for him. But Abraham had no intention of fighting him. Just stood still and took punches to his arms. The bloke's made of iron though! Most other fighters would have wilted more than once under some of the combinations Eubank threw at him. His hand speed is unreal. Needs to knock off the cocky showboating til the job is done though. A quicker opponent would've caught him at least a couple of times.

George Groves looked scared to death in the interview / face off afterwards. I think Eubank will have too much for him when they eventually meet. Should be a great fight!

Just watching a programme on India, they are burning purified dung from a cow they believe is home to 33 million gods and goddesses which live inside it. They are worshiping it's burning turds, they believe the goddess of wealth approves of this.

Never again ask why Venkys behave the way they do !!!!

This is true by the way :o

  6. If they'd put even this kind of cash in this time last year, even taking Coyle into account, we probably wouldn't have been in the situation of trying to get back to the Championship in the first place.. So forgive me for being frustrated rather than excited. Depending on how many leave to balance the books, we could be in for a relatively successful season, but its still a season in League 1. Entirely avoidable and spending after the horse has bolted is totally illogical, like the rest of the last 7 years. Hoping to be pleasantly surprised, but expecting to be disappointed.

This thread is proof that there is a market for UK customers and the EFL should stop being so stuck in the past about the televised 3pm fixtures. I cannot get to away games. I would buy a subscription to watch our away games.

But because I live in rip off Britain I'm discriminated against.

Don't worry.someone's bound to figure out how to get the streams on Kodi, or similar for UK customers. Hold fire for a bit and you'll no doubt be able to get it for free. And it'll serve them right for discriminating against UK (and Irish) citizens.

  8. Not for the first 2 years we weren't. With Newcastle, Norwich, Villa down here and the likes of Weds, Brighton and even Wolves spending big money, I'd argue it was much harder now. Bowyer did well to keep us up and signed some decent players, but then had no idea on how to use and organise them and should've been potted 12 months sooner than he was. Ironically, Bowyer would be a good fit for this DoF role as he could spot a player, but then get an actual manager to use them properly.

  9. Prepare to be very disappointed.

When in the last 6 years have they done anything astutely? Or invested? We've spent £250,000 in 2 years on players, whilst selling off every jewel we have.

Senior is a shyster who can talk a lot, but very little of substance comes out. Have you listened to his interviews? Have you read about his time at Sheff Weds? Really did well for them and progressed his career hasn't he? The club has been raped by agents and their hangers on for 6 years, so what do we do? Hire a "director of football" to handle transfers, whose wife happens to be an agent.. Which @#/? for brains thought that was a good idea? Wants to do a good job and progress his career? @#/? he does. Do a good job for his bank balance and progress to the next fool who falls for flannel when he eventually gets found out here more like.

  10. 3 rounds of Molina cowering waiting to be knocked out. I actually felt a bit embarrassed for the fella. Glad I didn't pay for it. AJ needs to fight a proper fighter soon. Someone who has the punching and a bit of nous to back it up. Personally I would put him in with Haye before Klitschko. He has the punching power to hurt him and has that speed and technique to make it a fight If he can get through that safely enough, give him the mega fight. My money would be on Klitschko though at the minute. I just don't think Joshua has been thoroughly tested yet and needs a 12 round war before fighting a legend like Klitschko.

The undercard was pretty good though.

Yafai's fight was good. That lad's gonna rule over that division for a long time!

Whyte / Chisora was an epic. Hope there's a rematch next year!

That punch from Quigg was a beaut, glad he's on his way back.

And that punch from Smith, holy @#/?. Bet Blackledge's teeth are still vibrating! Should have been pulled a round before, but still, what a hit!

  11. Eubank Jr was a class above tonight. Looked to me like he didn't get out of 2nd gear and was toying with him most of the night. Maybe it was a lack of power, but maybe it was just that he had settled into 2nd gear and couldn't raise himself enough to finish the job, I don't know. The ref should've stopped it 2 rounds earlier for me when Blackwell was up against the ropes getting punched in the head and returning nothing. Sad to see anyone in the state he ended up in.

Fury and Saunders showing a complete lack of class and I hope Eubank sparks Saunders when they eventually meet. Eubank Snr is still twice the boxer either of those classless turds will ever be.

Channel 5 coverage stopped without any more live boxing. Didn't hear whether the other Fury's fight was cancelled or not.
