Has to be Duff. Wilcox was one dimensional in my opinion and couldn't beat a man. He was also lucky to play in a team where the centre forward made a ball slung into the box look like a world class centre. There are no players around like Wilcox now basically because the style of play that best suited him is outdated whereas Duff can fit into any style as he is proving with Chelsea.

Couldn't believe my eyes when I flicked on the text this morning to see 'Yorke angered by racist chants'. Sat less than ten rows away from where the supposed racism took place and I heard nothing...not a carrot. I think headlines like : 'Rovers fans angered by Yorke's performances' would be nearer the mark. It all smacks of Yorke taking a ride on the negative publicity of the last week to further try and discredit a club he robbed for two years. What will the media say next week when Andy Cole gets a great reception off Rovers fans?

I'm sorry, but to bring him on at 4-0 down when we're getting a panning would do nothing for him. Personally I'd put de Pedro on the bench and Pedersen in the reserves for a few games. De Pedro seems to be coming to in the second string while Pedersen needs games to prove whether he's good bad or indifferent and IMO these games should be in the reserves.

Rooney is a fantastic player already and he will only get better. Only thing I have reservations about is his fitness. He's only 18 and has already had two bad injuries that have meant he's missed a lot of games. As for Man U, he's undoubtedly improved them massively but their dodgy midfield will drag them down and there's no way I think they'll finish above Arsenal and Chelsea in the Prem.

My view on Pedersen is pretty well documented and I must say from what I've seen I don't look like being proved wrong (although I hope I am). My question to you Rover6 is how do you know he's got the potential to succeed in this league? Are you going off a friendly appearance against Wolves or are you a sage on Norwegian football? I can only re-iterate that there are very few (if any) Norwegians plying their trade at a high level these days and I can't see Mr. Pedersen bucking that trend from what I've seen so far. Yes, players sometimes need time to bed in to a different environment (Henry, Pires, Okocha) but even they showed flashes of something. A decent long throw aside I've seen zilch.

He did well against manyoo and i don't think any played well vs newcastle. At least give the guy 5 or 6 games before you send him packing, he is a good player! I'm sure he will be, though I thought he was awful against ManU. Getting an assist against the "biggest" club in the world after half a training sessions isnt that bad. If taking a throw in and hurling the ball into the box constitutes an 'assist' I'm claiming one for singing during the game.

Agree with what you're saying there but the one thing that worries me more than anything in the squad of players we have is the total lack of pace. Even a team like Norwich can threaten with the 'out ball' to Huckerby, similarly Pompey-Yakubu, Palace-Johnson but we don't have that in our locker. Most teams in the Prem have that bit of pace about them, especially up front. Nothing we can do about it now mind you, cheers Souey. Isn't Jay Bothroyd supposed to be quick ? Yeah we're led to believe he is. Then again we'd all enjoy watching the world class DePedro, Andresen was an exciting talent and Grabbi had a great eye for goal. I'll believe it when I see it.

Dowie or Hughes would be good appointments as far as I'm concerned and I'm pretty sure that either would come if approached. Make it happen soon JW. Had my finger over the 38-1 on Betfair fro a tenner on Dowie before I saw the 14k thrown on Hughes so in that respect I'll be a bit sick.

Not a carrot T4E. It's a misconception that I actually know a great deal about the club. Only contacts I have is someone on the PR side, a football agent, and reserve team player. But, like I said, nothing doing at the minute.
