couple of celtic questions.. do you just get the seat the rovers ticketing system auto-assigns you or am i just completely missing the option to choose your own? does anyone have a clue as to where we'll be sitting? can't find anything for the seat # and row it's spitting out at me. the only info it gives is the option saying "restricted view" up front.

We have blocks 119 and 120, bottom right hand corner on attached stadium plan. Some of the seats in 120 are restricted view because of a couple of supports on the adjacent main stand to the left. Celtic season ticket holders are virtually everywhere else and the game is included in their 22-23 season ticket, so hopefully it will be a good turn out.

When I tried to buy online, it was only letting me buy one ticket and only giving me the option of restricted view. I rang the ticket office and bought over the phone. Got two tickets in the unrestricted view section.

Wish this metaverse mob would kindly depart for there and leave me a world where I don't have to listen to them tbh. Can't price a meat and potato pie right but can download the Riverside as an NFT. Aye, righto.

Just had to Google, ‘What Is a NFT?

For anyone of my age or similar (64), don’t bother. It may as well have been written in whatever language they speak in Borneo.

Friendlies aren't just about fitness as many have said. Of course it's important for the players to get game time but I thought today was important for the players to impress a new manager who equally wanted to run the rule over them and how they can adapt to his methods and tactics…..

Three weeks from now we will have played our first game and with each passing day I am getting more worried about the squad being too weak.

    Spot on Tony.

We’ve been told there’s a ‘healthy’ budget but do we need to sell Brereton to fund the (non loan) acquisitions? Can we keep Brereton and still have funds to improve the team in other areas?

Just watch some club come in for him at the death and leave us snookered.

  4. Just ordered two tickets for the Celtic game. The online system was only letting me order one ticket and saying that restricted view tickets only were available. This is not the case as I phoned the ticket office and bought two unrestricted tickets together. Just so everyone knows if they struggle with the ordering process.

We played Celtic in a hastily arranged friendly on a Sunday in 2010 when we were a PL club. There were a few hundred Rovers fans there and the ground was nearly empty.

Now it might be different this time with more advanced warning and it being a Saturday but I would still expect one block to be more than enough.

Also a large number of those seats, especially those in block 120, are obstructed views due to the old main stand pillars

Celtic’s forthcoming home friendlies are included in their 2022-23 season ticket, so there should be a decent crowd on. My lad went to Rangers for the friendly 12 months or so ago and I think he said that Rovers took around a thousand, so I would expect similar at Celtic Park. For ease of segregation, I think we’ll still get the full corner, even if we most certainly won’t sell all the tickets for that area.

I’ll be fecking pissed off, if the Rovers game is to be cancelled, because we’ve had our train tickets sorted for a couple of weeks now.
    Ditto!

What train you on Nick? Ours is the 9.00 from Preston, gets in at 11.30 ish, so it’ll be a taxi to the ground but we can grab a pint or two after the game. You too, Andy, if you’re reading this.

  7. Celtic have had their six pre season friendlies (including the Rovers) arranged for some time and, If I remember correctly, have had some sort of bundle out to watch these on Celtic tv.

I’ll be fecking pissed off, if the Rovers game is to be cancelled, because we’ve had our train tickets sorted for a couple of weeks now.

Wont happen until after we have veen through admin and got rid of the owners.

I reckon we could get to 13k+ despite the owners.

There are still 27k home fans out there as evidenced by the Oxford game in 2018.

Get the price right and folk will come. The 27k was a one off but shows that under certain circumstances, big crowds will happen.

Some of the ‘lapsed former regulars’ and ‘now and again’ fans have to be enticed into being season ticket holders by two things. Success on the pitch and a sensible, affordable price, commensurate with the current economic climate, especially in an area like East Lancs.

    Season Ticket Estimate

    Latest*: 7,180 (+108)

*Excludes season ticket renewals between 17th-30th June.

    Previous Updates
    Friday 17th June 2022: 7,072 (+8)
    Thursday 16th June 2022: 7,064 (+39)
    Wednesday 15th June 2022: 7,025 (first count)

    Notes

    • The count is an estimate based on the number of unavailable seats in all saleable blocks in the ticket seat map.
    • The (+xx) figure represents the number of tickets sold since yesterday based on the two estimates. Until 1st July, consider this figure as brand new season tickets holders (see point 5).
    • When a seat is added to the basket, it is marked as unavailable for up to 28 minutes. A small number of these will inevitably be included in the count, even if the purchase isn't completed. This behaviour will likely be consistent on a daily basis during the count, and whilst unavoidable, it shouldn't affect the gist of the estimates.
    • 712 of all unavailable seats are considered unsaleable, i.e., all front rows of all three stands (reserved for carers and so on), and a block of seats in W01 closest to the Darwen End stand. Please note that some of these will actually be season ticket holders and should be included in the figure, but it is not known how many.
    • It is assumed that 2,337 of all unavailable seats are currently reserved for last season's ticket holders who haven't yet renewed. It is not possible to view how many of these 2,337 have renewed because all of them will remain as "unavailable" until 30th June whether they have been renewed or not. 2,337 will therefore be deducted from the running figures until the loyalty scheme ends on 30th June, after which all seats should have an accurate status. This will likely boost the figures in the first available count after the loyalty scheme ends.
    • Finally, remember that this is just an estimate. I will stand to be corrected when official sales figures are released.

  10. Just watched the two interviews. Both Jon and Gregg come across as intelligent, articulate and share a sense of optimism. What’s good to see is that they both smile and look like they genuinely want to be here.

You would like to think that Venky’s have given them a true assessment of what is available in the form of a kitty for, at least, the first two transfer windows. Even if that pot of money is only say a few million, each window, and they know they’ll have to work on bringing in cheap youngsters and developing them, together with utilising the loan market. It would also be nice if they have been given the green light to keep Brereton, should he be persuaded to stay.

Well that’s the football side of things sorted. Now for the CEO and commercial side. Wouldn’t it be good to have people in those positions with similar intelligence, optimism and common sense and have the whole club singing from the same hymn sheet?

I have my doubts Chaddy. I’ll tell you why. Putting his coaching background to one side. Has he ever lived in this country ? Have you ever worked away from home and family for any length or time ? I have and it’s hard, really hard. Only guys who never wanted to get married in the first place enjoy working away. I’ve known a few of those but mainly guys find it hard. Living out of a hotel room is crap, even if it’s a good hotel.

That’s just one of the reasons why I’d rather have somebody who’s managed in England previously.

To be fair, TS, he is Danish and has either played or coached in Holland, England, Italy, Germany, Spain and Sweden. He would also have lived in all those countries with the possible exception of Sweden. I dont think he’ll have any trouble living and moving his family to England, should he be appointed.
