  1. With Brereton, unless someone makes a £20m bid he will be here for the season. I think we can safely say it's unlikely he'll be sold
  2. I think the plan is to bring in 2cb's, one permanently and one on loan. I think after that we still need a LB, a striker and a right side forward to replace Gallagher.
  3. That is the merging of both sites which Waggott wanted to do. This is different, Mowbray wanted to close the academy when we were relegated and tried again when we were promoted to inject more funds into the first team. I will send through the articles later when I get in
  4. Although Mowbray did want to close down the academy and was over ruled by Venky's so I am not to sure how much credit he should get for everything coming through now. I think all credit should go to the academy and academy recruitment team.
  5. Norwich generated the cash though. Just after Farke was appointed they were on the verge of administration and they have had to trade their way to this position through their Academy. They only had the cash to go straight back up as they didn't spend on their first season back and developed their youngsters unlike when they were promoted under Lambert. Remember Deliah is not rolling in it, Stuart Webbe has been very smart as their DOF and built the club and their cash pile slowly. Fulham I do agree with.
  6. Although if you look at the last time Burnley got promoted they used 17 players all season. Norwich used 19 players for their previous promotion. It can be done and sometimes is beneficial to have a small squad. We need another 3 players but then it's all down to their conditioning and training.
  7. As a subscription you could also contact all local companies to offer it as a salary sacrifice benefit to their employees saving a little on tax (this bit would need to be checked with a tax advisor).
  8. If we got rid of season tickets and turned it into a £30 a month subscription instead we would get a higher take up. Paying each month of the year instead of in one go or over 8 months would ease cash flow as well.
  9. As food and drink is outsourced, we wouldn't get any additional income from more fans through the turnstiles. It's one of the reasons I think we should bring everything back in-house and run it ourselves. Only thing we would benefit is more footfall through Rovers Store potentially.
  10. The problem being the 6 wins followed our worst ever home loss. Also you just knew in January we'd collapse again and we did every year under him. Promotion excitement was tempered by not going for the title and just settling for things. There was just no ambition there and any fans had were just drained by mediocrity.
  11. Unless the BBD offer hits Venky's £20m valuation, he won't be sold. The likely hood is he will leave for free next summer.
  12. Barca have to or the Spanish FA do not release him to play. All Spanish registered players have release clauses in their contracts that have to be met. All funds have to go through La Liga/Spanish FA to ensure that everything is paid
  13. After this I can see a Gallagher hat trick and you coming on at 5 to eat humble pie.
  14. Wenger couldn't replace as he was having to balance the books and fund the building of the stadium at the time and he had very strict allowances. If they had stayed at Highbury you will find he would have spent the funds on quality replacements. Also the board told him he had to qualify for the Champions League each season which he duly did with those kids you talk about.
  15. Every appointment is a gamble. Look at Wilder, he was a lower league specialist before he got Sheffield United promoted. Also Cooper, Wagner and Fark had never managed a side, just worked as coaches before their appointments. JDT has managed and had success, we'll find out soon if he will be able to adapt. I think playing the high pressing game for 2 games a week will be a struggle on the players later in the season.
  16. Most managers who have been promoted recently haven't had any championship experience. All of Watford managers, Wagner, Fark, Parker etc. It seems to have been the experienced championship managers who have struggled Pulis, Warnock etc
  17. A friend who also told me about the sale and lease back of the training ground which I said early last summer. It's a pretty solid tip but as always as I haven't seen the contract soI can't say it's a 100% accurate
  18. We have paid £500k upfront, £1.5m in performance based payments based on promotion, appearances and goals as well as a 20% profit sell on clause. I think that is pretty low risk transfer to be honest.
  19. I'm pretty sure 18 months ago we were trying to ship BBD out to the Dutch second division who also wouldn't guarantee first team football. Players can suddenly just click on a position.
  20. How is Dack being held back? He has been injured and hasn't had a pre season. After his past 2 seasons we have to be careful how we use and bring him back. We don't want him breaking down again and missing another season.
  21. I think probably missing a Danny Graham hold up specialist to make the system really tick
  22. The players mentioned will have their positions for the majority of the time and be able to interchange during a match creating a more fluid attacking threat.
  23. Nixon linked us with a loan move last week if Brighton agree a new contract with him.
  24. Brittain was a player the recruitment department suggested last summer and in January. Both times rejected by Mowbray.
  25. We definitely need 6-7 more signings and I would prefer them all to be permanent signings. A couple of injuries and the squad is looking very bare.
