I think, in the main, the people still attending are those who are prepared to put up with it due to loyalty to the club, or force of habit.
There is certainly very little stomach for a fight, and many of the people who protested in the early days of Venkys have simply stopped attending.
Not attending is the only real ongoing form of protest.
If we go down and Venkys are still here next season, the attendances will be pathetic.

With the recent news of Waggott going rogue and involving himself in both player acquisitions (at least Fleck, giving him £20pw) and directly appointing what appears to be a disastrous managerial appointment in Eustace.
And he's been consistent that the owners have always agreed to send money / assist with the club whenever asked.
You have to wonder if he has been the single point of failure over the last several years.
Did he make the decisions to let contracts run down, or to not sell players like BBD and Rothwell?
We're told 'the board' made the decision; he is paid to be the most senior member of that board. And that's before we go into horrific season ticket strategies, or embarrassing PR releases.
The more I think about it - and the more you read into interviews by JDT and GB, the more I come to the conclusion that Waggott is THE issue at the club.
He’s certainly one of them, but it all comes back to the owners, (who put him there).
Look at the “calibre” of his predecessors.
A succession of hired goons , and then there is the ‘real’ CEO, Suhail Pasha.

That reminds me, wasn’t there supposed to be another fan takeover day before the end of the season?
There may be a ‘fan takeover’ of a less cordial nature if things go completely pear shaped prior to the final home game.

I thought Ipswich were very poor yesterday , if they hadn't been played us or Rotherham , they probably would have lost..
The lack of talent in our squad is quite frightening and only very few of our players , stand up to be counted !
That is exactly what I meant by "those are the type of wins that get you promoted".
They have followed up a 6 - 0 home thrashing with an ugly 1 - 0 away win.
They are top of the league for a reason.
We are where we are for a reason, (and I agree re - the squad).

A good win for Sunderland yesterday, and another defeat for us, (yes, we did okay but it's just another defeat).
Not confident and hoping for more favours from other teams.

Ipswich looked like a team used to winning and instinctively passed between themselves whereas our passing was all stop and look for someone.
We got lucky with the nailed on penalty Ipswich weren't given and they got lucky cumulatively with the three times we got it into their net when the officials could have missed their marginal decisions against us and the Moran volley was an extremely marginal call. That was keeper collision with Wharton without the keeper having control of the ball.
But it came down to Pears howler being a goal and their keeper's howler wasn't because he got lucky with where his left arm was when Szmodics struck for goal. In the replay it is obvious his left arm goes out without looking and unlike against Newcastle Szmodics gave it elevation.
If he had chipped it against Newcastle we go through, a flatter trajectory yesterday we equalise.
Those are the type of wins that get you promoted.
I only saw the second half, but we were definitely a bit unlucky not to take a point from that game, but them's the breaks when you're down the bottom.
Re - the save from Szmodicz, yes the keeper got a bit lucky, but you make your own luck.

Close game, you get the breaks when you’re near the top and vice versa when you’re in our position.

Gallagher , what a sick note. He must get injured pulling his shorts.
Probably told Ipswich he’s coming in the Summer.

Half my job cancelled today, so I can watch the second half on the box.
Not sure whether that’s a good thing or not 😂🙏

Disagree about last season. The Cup runs were excellent no doubt about that. But in the league the results came in fits and starts. At the end of the day he reached 69 points. Mowbray, who for some reason gets castigated at every opportunity by some, achieved exactly the same the previous season.
I admit, that JDT's football was easy on the eye and I enjoyed watching games. But, ultimately, he failed to get the results that were needed and for me the Southampton away game was the one where I started to believe that he'd lost some of the players. I don't think the fall out with Travis helped his cause and the more I hear the more I agree that he needed to go - as you say probably sooner than he did.
Nail on the head.
I was a fan of JDT, and he was more sinned against than sinner, but certainly not worthy of sainthood.

Fair play to Andy - he does press Gregg on a number of items. True to form though I feel like Gregg dodges pretty much all of them. Nothing against the bloke but he clearly has zero influence. There’s only one bloke who it would be worth hearing from at Ewood under a grilling (not Wagott) and it won’t ever happen.
Yes, a bloke more anonymous than Coldplay's drummer.

It us EFL development week. Ends today.
He spoke about our academy and the pathway for them here at Rovers
I’m not debating that. I’m saying he also spoke about things which have nothing to do with the academy.

The reason for the interview was about EFL development week as it said at the start of the interview. So he hasn't gone rogue
That’s as maybe, but he didn’t just talk about EFL development.
Still wouldn’t surprise me if he left in the Summer, one way or another.

We have indeed learnt several things...
The Club is run like a dysfunctional Circus with chancers taking massive remuneration for sweet FA.
I think we already knew this.
They are all a bunch of dickheads who should be nowhere near the club, other than to clean the bogs.

Well, given the interview wasn’t via the club’s own media department, if Broughton has gone off on one without authority he will soon be working elsewhere.

One thing that he did clearly dismiss was this myth that Szmodics and Hyam were already serious transfer targets before he arrived
Two hired goons engaged in an argument indirectly.
Personally, I don’t care what either has to say.

If he was then it was totally out of order not involving JDT in discussions.
If he wasn't, then obviously he still wasn't aggrieved enough to take the moral high ground like JDT did and negotiate his own departure.
Speaks volumes.
Broughton will hang on as long as he can.
There won't be a queue of clubs wishing to acquire his services.

Surely, player trading is chiefly a responsibility for the Director of Football.
I wonder if Broughton was aware of what Waggott and Pasha were up to?
Obviously, any such decisions should only be actioned after full consultation with the Head Coach. It’s just another example of how dysfunctional the club is, because the owners fill key positions with hired goons, who don’t work together as a team.

That wouldn't matter in the slightest. Loan players have been forbidden by the rules of the game from playing against their parent club for years now (in England anyway). Although I gather this can be allowed if the parent club expressly permits it in the loan contract. Hopefully even we weren't that stupid.
I wasn’t being entirely serious, but you are right about the second part.
I don’t think it’s a case of us not being that stupid, more that attention to detail isn’t our thing, so we should be okay.

A bit harsh, @philipl
I think we all need to be saying a few prayers on Saturday and Tuesday when Ireland are playing.

I would imagine Travis is ineligible to play.
Surely to God, but knowing us we’ll have forgotten to add a clause in the loan deal forbidding him to play against us!

With only 3 people having pledged so far, it is unlikely to work and would be pointless.
I will still get a quote, but think we need at least 500 people to be wearing them, for it to make an impact.
Given what was posted yesterday about JDT getting away with saying anything, but once he mentioned Suhail, his feet didn't touch the ground, I do think it is an ideal opportunity to expose them/him on TV so for anyone of the sam opinion, get your pledging in.
I will buy five, but can’t attend due to work, (normal day on the railway).
The only form of protest still ongoing is to stop attending.
In a few years time the only folk going will be the happy clappers, and the club motto will change to whatever the Latin is for “We deserve this”.

That's a given, but winning has become very rare, and miserable journeys home have become the norm.
Compare how a matchday feels now to, let's say the mid noughties.
Sitting in a half empty stadium, generally devoid of atmosphere, with the lowest of expectations.
This isn't Blackburn Rovers.
It's a parasite pretending to be it's host.
