On Radio Lancs MH sounded a little frustrated a further hearing had to be held and he wondered if the punishment should have ended up being harsher.
-
Well, Scotti ( you cad!) is going to score for them, and Jeffers is going to score 17 for us. Interesting.
just looked on the sky website and went back to the home game against Salzburg and it shows Bentley being booked, so Mr Bentley will have to be on his best behaviour tommorrow night
Blackburn v Basle
UEFA CUP
Group E: Blackburn v Basle
Date: Thursday 2 November
Kick off: 1945 BST
Venue: Ewood Park
My ticket says 20:00. Will I miss part of the match?
-
I hope MH gets what he wants in terms of the crowd.
Is anyone else a tad disappointed we have not had fans from Basel on this website? It has been really good when we have had Europen visitors as it has helped in the build up to the game.
-
Can anyone shed some light on the 16-21 club for Rovers fans. I've signed up, but I'm unsure whether it can be used in the European games as well as Premier League games??? I'm assuming not?
According to the Rovers website, Young Adult season ticket holders pay £5. If this does not apply to you, have a look at the rovers.co.uk

There's only 1 Graham Poll after all. Apperently it was Lampard that was booked.
-
We really need to protect our only two forwards now (until Nonda returns) so playing just one is the best way to do that. Benni played that at Porto I think, and I'm sure that Jeffers could make a decent fist of it too. They are strikers not midfielders so pick one / bench one is the safest option from an injury point of view. The guy behind at attacking mid would be Bentley. Emo right wing, Oijer behind him with an olive branch shared by Todd and Sparky. Rest of the team virtually picks itself.
If you wanted that set-up, you could have Henchoz instead of Todd.
-
MH on Radio Lancs seemed to suggest Savage would be back.
-
Mackay had brought Ossie in so that he could play on the plastic pitch at Oldham in a key match. Unfortunatley he got injured in the away game at Plymouth (his first game?) by some thug. Called Marker.
-
I think someone has mentioned it might be on Eurosport.
-
an absolute joke in the 1st half, better in the second though.
but if you take 5 of our guarateed 1st team out of the equation (nelsen, emerton, reid, sav, nonda) then yes we would always struggle!.
i got kicked out after bentleys (it was him wasn't it?!!!)consolation, for, wait for it...SWEARING!!pah,should have kicked out 30-odd thousand other people then.
one thing that did shoc me though was how mute many of our fans are.i dont get to many rovers games as i am from southampton, but now i am london based aim 2 get to a whole lot more.its a joke that people leave 20...YES 20! minutes before the end of the game, what the hell is that about?!.
i do however think that hughesy can talk a half time talk though,as on a few occasions we have been abysmal in the 1st half, and much, much better second, and that seemed 2 b the case 2day.
was benni offside for what would have been the equaliser?.i thought that mickey gray wasnt too bad, well certainly not that bad in comparison 2 the rest of the team anyway.
The Radio Lancs team said they were not able to see a replay for themselves but were told that Benni was at least level.
-
It was quite obvious we were going to lose today.
The only thing I regret was I didn't put a bet on.
Mind, the last time I put a bet on, the horse had to be put down-that was nearly 30 years ago.
-
Sky just showed we had close to 60% of the ball second half. Why is it that we dominate possesion EVERY game and never back this up with good chances that the possesion should provide?
Radio Lancs said the final ball was often poor and this also applied to the crosses.
-
Tchocky's right about the injury crisis.
Still, it's disappointing to know that we still should have come away with a point: Sparky will be absolutely livid when he sees the replay on the play that led to their corner.
Radio Lancs said it should not have been a corner.
-
Jeffers nearly scored from a very good Gallagher cross.
-
-
McEveley looks nervous since he's come on-nearly set them up for a goal.
-
McEveley on for Gray-Radio Lancs said that Gray improved during the match. But then looked tired.
Another unmarked striker scores against us.
-
-
Gallagher going to come on for Aaron for his 50th appearance.
-
Free header from Zurab put wide from a corner.
-
Radio Lancs suggest MH will give the team a good talking to.
-
I am pretty certain I've seen Rovers playing in their red and black away kit at Ewood but I am struggling to remember when. Did they play in it against Lyon? Also I have a feeling an away tie got switched to Ewood in the domestic cups and Rovers played in their away strip.
Back to Basel- they won their second successive game yesterday beating leaders Grasshoppers 2-1 away (2-0 at half time).
Might that have been against someone like Millwall, maybe late 70's?
-
Roberts has now gone off and been replaced by Jeffers.
-
Don't Basel have a Croatian striker who scored 4 goals against Andorra or some other equally poor team?
You're right that it is a big game for us as the first 2 times we went out of EUFA we did badly at home and reasonably well at home-trelleborg and Lyon.
