If that's what you want to do then having Armstrong playing alongside Graham would make sense.  I'm not a great fan myself, I'd prefer to look at the players and decide what system to play based on the skills they have. Fitting players into a system that may not suit doesn't normally end well. With three centre backs it should enable Charlie to carry the ball out more than the current system does.

Agreed. We would need a deep playmaking midfielder somebody who can pass the ball and start moves. Whittingham was obviously brought in to that role last season. Perhaps this Hibs fella we have been linked with can do that job

Good thing about this summer is that Mowbray doesn't have lots of players who offer nothing taking up a chunk of the wage bill. There are a few that we could do to get rid of but I doubt they are on big money as the wage bill is only £8.5m. Caddis and Whittingham are two I think we can do without but beyond that you could make a case for most other first-teamers staying.

The wage bill was only 8.5 million last season but I presume our higher earners in the championship had to take wage cuts last season. Not sure how it works but now we are promoted do their wages go back up to what they where?

15 games is no time at all, from what I read he had a clause in his contract that release him if they went down? sensible management from Barnsley but it sounds like they weren't that confident in him from the start

Although I do agree that manager's should be given time but sometimes it obvious a change is needed.Case in point is Pardew at West Brom, I bet the owners regret not giving him the sack earlier if they had they could well have stayed up this season

Let's not forget we have Feeney and Ward going off the wage bill, that will be around £20k a week in savings too...

Yeah but do the players who took pay cuts due to relegation from the championship go back to their original contracts now we have been promoted? Our wage bill this season is quite low but if those players do go back to their original contracts then our wage bill could rise significantly before any new signings arrive

I agree we need 6 or 7. We need a centre back, centre mid, 1 or 2 wingers(if we sign Chapman), Armstrong back, target man, if we sign Payne.

I would keep Evans, Samuel and Gladwin(unless we get Payne)

Why would you keep Gladwin? He had one decent season at Swindon a few years ago he has done nothing here or at his previous club.Has Mowbray said he is part of his plans next season or something as I'm really struggling to understand why any rovers fan would want Gladwin to still be at the club next season

Might be mistaken, but I think he signed a 2 year deal yeah.

Yeah you are correct.Suprised he got a 2 year deal although I doubt he could be on much of a wage.So if he wants to play then maybe both him and the club will come to an agreement which will see him moving on

One thing I will say, people are suggesting Caddis and Whittingham (who id keep around) should go, whose going to buy them off us, both are under contract, and I imagine the latter is on a decent contract. Same with Gladwin to be fair, one who Id look to get rid of straight away.

Really hope we dont recruit towards a 3 at the back. I know it can be a good system and a couple of our players, notably Bell would potentially benefit but theres alot that wouldnt.

When we played it last time we had Mulgrew stepping out from the left, last time we used it it looked all wrong because Mulgrew was in the middle to accomodate Williams.

Nyambe is seemingly a big part of our defence, hes a defensive full back hes certainly never a right wing back.

And if you play that formation it would break up the Dack and Graham partnership, most likely leaving Dack as one of 2 number 10s, reducing his influence.

Hopefully Mowbray wont see fit to change a winning system. Just add to it.

And @chaddyrovers why do you see a player that has got nowhere near the Sheffield United team to be a good potential signing? Yes we were linked last season but hes literally not played all year. And Gladwins a donkey ive seen that with my own eyes and if he never plays again for us itll be too soon.

Does Caddis have another year?I thought he only got a 1year deal?

People didnt think Downing was good enough he performance good enough this season.

Ive agree tomphil assesment why to keep Conway. See that.

We will lose certain players in summer. People like Caddis, Ward, Whittingham, but we got under 23's who are good enough to be part of the squad

Not interested in what QPR fans think tbh.

We had a big interest in Henegan last summer. He would be available most likely. Hes a big tall centre back.

Morris a wide player who score goals and we need that. Plus can play in centre midfield as a back up.

Ive watched Gladwin a few years ago at Swindon. Hes was a talent but lost his way. Feel Mowbray could bring that out of him.

Exactly why I would keep him.

We will agree to disagree.I don't see Rovers being interested in Henegan. We did have an interest Last summer..a year is a long time with this new scouting system Mowbray has been talking up I'd hope we can do better than a Sheffield United reserve.

Downing did do well but he won't be starting  next season and we have no idea wether he will be good enough at championship level

You want us to sign two new wingers.Sign Armstrong and Payne. So can I ask where Conway and Gladwin fit in?I take tomphils point about his experience but if we do bring in wingers then Conway has rarely started this season so if we sign players in the position you suggest then he will be further away from the first team. The same with Gladwin who has done nothing of note since his Swindon days. You also want the youth to be given a chance which I agree with but everyone can't get a game chaddy so no point giving a new deal to Conway of being going to contribute on the field and not a chance in hell of Gladwin becoming a regular in my opinion

I would give Gladwin a chance.

I would sign Payne and Armstrong next season..

Then a tall centre back. Possible Henegan from Sheff Utd

Centre mid- Nolan from Shrewsbury. Travis would be the 1st team squad next season

    Wingers- Taylor, Chapman(possibly) and Morris..

Big target man. Dont know who tho.

Chaddy why do you keep suggesting Henegan from Sheff United. We were interested last summer but he moved to Sheffield United and has hardly played. They obviously don't think he is ready for the Championship so why should we be interested in him.

On Gladwin what have you seen from him that makes you willing to give him a chance?

Keep Conway....Keep Gladwin plus you want us to sign players this summer are you wanting us to have a 35 man squad next season.

We shouldn't be keeping the likes of Gladwin. Conway has been a great servant but his time is sadly up he should be let go to make room for new additions.

No thanks. Dont want his style or tactics at Ewood.

He end up at Barnsley next season in league 1 when they get relegated

He had Ipswich playing some ok football and was getting them  in and around the playoffs before they sold his two best players in Mings to Bournemouth and Murphy to Newcastle two player's McCarthy brought to the club that they sold on for 15 million. I think they paid something like 10 grand for Mings and sold him on for between 8-10 million and then sold Murphy to Newcastle for 5 and Mcarthy saw hardly any of that profit invested back into his transfer kitty. He did a very good job,he spent a pittance and made the club good money and kept them comfortable. They should be getting angry with the owner for not giving McCarthy a bit of cash especially with the profit on those two

Talk of a Norwich bid. Would you stick or twist. If the latter at what price? Can't see TM being willing to sell but will the Venkys capitulate? Be good if Dack came out and said "I'm going nowhere"

There hasn't even been talk of a Norwich bid. There was a couple of lines in the paper saying Norwich eyeing up Dack.No mention of figures.Norwich wouldn't be able to afford what we would want for him

Strange how his career has gone.

Remember looking on in envy when he was at Brentford. Remember at half time at ewood their players looking professional going through drills whilst ours played kickabout like they where down the park with their mates.

  13. Great result.Mowbray has stopped tinkering too much and in spells we have started to play some good football unlike at the start of the season.Fair play to the manager .

Happy to see Tomlinson get game time,I will be beyond disappointed if Harper comes straight back into the 16 and Tomlinson is demoted.Harper hasn't pulled up any trees in his performances and although I wish the lad well our own promising youngster like Tomlinson should have priority over helping develop some other clubs player

I watched half of the first episode. It started off really well, but then as you said, it was really slow and boring. My other half has carried on watching it, and seems to like it - maybe worth another try?

I enjoyed it.Would definitely recommend you watch it

Iv just finished The man in the high castle, an Amazon prime show based on a novel.Really really good series

Is this lad any good @Parsonblue and the others who watch the U23's? I saw him on the box playing for Salford in the FA Cup a season or two ago and he looked decent. He must be progressing if he's got a new contract.

It's nice seeing some of our younger talent putting pen to paper.I have to admit I thought I'd see a lot of our more talented youth moving on in search of more 1st team football

Coleman and Kean were big mates yeah, think Kean worked under Coleman in Spain before he come here, infact it was Coleman to recommended that Big Sam took him on here as a coach!

I think Coleman hsa come out since though and said that he was embarrassed to have recommended him here after all the shady goings on that happened once he was appointed.

He worked with him at Fulham too
