Football is a squad game nowadays and it is more than just the starting 11 but we are adding what Ismael wanted which is pace and athleticism to this squad.

I don't want marquee signings but players who fit into how we want to play

Abit like you do every week over Forshaw or other things.

Paranoid? 😂 clueless comments. same old comments just a different day

yet we have been challenging for playoffs for the past 3 seasons over 4 seasons.

I can't give my opinions on these players we signed cos I haven't seen them play and so no I can't give any proper opinion.

Rovers seem to be targeting specific qualities in players to suit Ismael's tactics

    Challenging...but not getting in them.

And that was with some experience ans we werent just recruiting players with no championship experience and who had just been relegated with their previous clubs.

We lose Brittain and even just 1 or Travis and Tronstad we certainly won't be getting anywhere near the playoffs

3million for Brittain and I think they will accept! Replacing is a worry if we are not reinvesting monies received 😬 but IF they replace with Cody Drameh it wouldn’t be the worst he's a decent player and certainly quicker than Brittain which is what VI is after……..every cloud maybe? 🤷🏻‍♂️

We will miss Brittains crossing. He will be a big loss

Is Drameh any good. Why are Hull looking to get rid after only signing him last summer?

And? Good bargains out there if you scout for a range of fees like Tronstad on a free or Dolan on a free or Szmodics for 2.5m or Brittain for £1m

And? Irrelevant. Its about the quality of player we sign and the fee paid doesn't determine how good the player will be.

Some people are more obsessing over the fees than anything else

No one comment of player did we

Because we are doing everything on the cheap whilst our rivals spend big money on signings

If it was easy to make a successful team with cheap signings then every club would  be doing it

You don't think it is a worry that all our signings so far have been cheap by championship standards, they have all come from clubs that got relegated last season and they have zero championship experience?

Nobody has said that you can't pick up good players for low fees

  4. Is this supposed interest from Sunderland not from when they were a championship club?

They have already brought in a couple of midfielders for big money are they really going in for this guy at £1.5 million?.Surely if they really wanted him they would have that deal done not coming in at the 11th hour when he has already flown to another club to get a deal done

Our budgets is for players that suits how Ismael's style and formation.

    Football is a squad players.

    Nominal fee?

Of course it is a nominal fee.

Or do you think £500k is big bucks as a transfer fee in the championship( it probably only reaches that figure if clauses are met appearances etc)

We have probably paid an initial 300 grand for him

Maybe this is the year we get a few exciting and stud loans in - after the dreadful bunch last year (excl. Beck).

Some players who could move for the right opportunity to maybe look out for (at positions of need) are Tyrique George (Winger, Chelsea), Ben Doak (Winger, Liverpool) Ayden Heaven (CB, Man Utd), Vitor Reis (CB, Man City), Joe Gelhardt (CF, Leeds) and Chido Odi (CF, Man Utd). Plus whatever else Brighton and Liverpool have on the reduced isle.

Some of course will push on at their clubs, get loan to other Prem teams, others will certainly come down.

Besides Harvey Elliott, I'm struggling to name a loan we were genuinely excited for in 13 years... Van Hecke, Tosin, Reed, Cairney, Armstrong (etc.) did excellent once here, but none were met with delight on arrival. Rovers seem to loan at a 20% success rate (at best) nowadays.

In this league, 3 Quality loans are very likely literally the difference between 18th and 5th.

If we are going to loan in a young player from the Premier league then I'd like to see us take a chance on Danns from Liverpool.

No chance Doak or George will be loaned to the Championship. Doak will get a prem permanent transfer this window and if George goes on loan it will be to a Premier league team or European top division side

I've got nothing against the club trying to unearth some gems from more obscure sources, I think it's potentially a good strategy and if a few come off then those involved deserve credit. The only thing that annoys me is the misleading of the transfer fee's.

Seeing as we're not signing another CB, I'd say this will probably be the final perm signing of the window, any others will be young prem loans I think.

We are still looking for a centre back? The articles are saying we won't be signing a batth replacement, so only interested in bringing in 1 centre back not 2

Coventry are a good example. Raked in about £35m from sales and spent about £25m on new players. They don’t have parachute payments, they just reinvested the proceeds from players sold.

We’ve raked in similar and spent fuck all.

    Those are the facts.

Championship financial heavy weights Millwall sold their star young player to Palace last season and immediately broke their transfer record and signed other players on permanent deals for cash.

Worlds away from what we did when we sold our biggest talent

Of course they do It's call running a business and the club is insolvent if it wasn't for the owners hate them or l9ve them and your correct we do run on league one finances that much is clear.

What do you actually think will happen if they sold us the next owner will come in and put 100mill into the team no they will look straight at the P and L and will most likely put a salary cap in and sell our best value players and highest earners because they will also not be willing to sustain a 20mill loss per year

Do you think all the other championship clubs don't lose money? No matter how big our wages are, no matter how much we spend in the market its a 20 million loss per year.

When we had Rhodes on 35k a week and other big earners and spent more than we do now then it costs the owners 20 million to keep the club running.

When we have one of the lowest wage budgets in the league and spend minimally on transfer fees and sell players for big money it still costs the owners 20 million to keep the club running.

    Why is this?

Were are you getting no investment in the team do you think the 2 players we have signed are interns on no wages.

I'm not In the know but from reports I've seen we've spent 2.5mil on them and again I'm guessing they will be on 5k a week could be more in fairnes if any one else knows the wages correct me this would be around 1.5mil in wages over 3 years so that's an investment of 3-4 million on the squad already this window

Yeah they have been signed out of the budget that has been set by the owners.

Gestede said on both podcasts he did that incoming transfer fees are not added to the budget. So I'm getting it from the club

The Championship is ranked approx. the 11th strongest league in the world. The Scottish Premier League is ranked 43rd. If your dream is to play in the Premier League then you don't move to a weaker league.

You get to play in Europe if you are playing for Celtic or Rangers and many of their players end up moving to a stronger league for decent money if they perform well for them.

Either of those teams would be a good move for him

That's the point we have owners who are only willing to sustain the club keep the lights on so the club needs to make its own money salary cap will help but player sales are vital to be self sustainable and hopefully profitable so we don't have to rely on the owners. This will only work if we have the balls to sell these players at a time and age we're we can get the best value,

We cant keep losing players for free it's pointless holding on to them for another season in the hopes we get top six.

But none of the money will go towards a replacements. So the squad will be weaker

Why would we as fans want our experienced players sold just so the owners have to send less money over?

We will never be sustainable as a championship club, just dreams by Pasha and Gestede.

Sell Travis,Tronstad and Brittain and replace them from the low budget set by the owners with cheap foreign players then the only place this club is going is league one

As a fan, it would only make sense to want us to cash in on the players with only 12 months left if the incoming fees where going to be used on replacements. Should we flog Hyam aswell because he only has a year left aswell?
