I can't see it. Waggott knows full well the reaction would be even more negative than it is already.

Did people at the club not know the reaction appointing Owen Coyle would have.

People at the club wanted Warnock we ended up with Coyle.

If an advisor is whispering in Venkys ears that Fowler can do the job at half the price of Eustace then it will be Fowler they go for.

Put him on Gardening leave and let's Johnson take the team

We need a permanent manager in our position isn't one for Rookies

Johnson is part of the existing team ,it will be someone from the existing coaching  team initially but it shouldn't be .

Also if he is on gardening leave you are still paying him his wage.Just pay him off, waive the compensation. Its ridiculous this carry on

Personally can see us appointing someone until the end of the season, and then going back to the list/plan in the summer

Wouldn't surprise me if Broughton is out the door and it's a new model

Selling everyone of value and replace them on a league 2 budget(well to be fair that model has been in play the last year)

Before turning to Broughton and play out from the back style , a manager had to have a promotion on his CV to get appointed here

If he is going I wonder who replaces him?

You would think given the shambolic nature of the last 6 months that Broughton has a list but we should never under estimate the clubs ability to be incompetent.

We should be forgetting about that Broughton list we need a different type of manager now

Quite clear from that interview Broughton did on that academy documentary it would be the same sort of coach as JDT with a similar playing style

Someone who knows the division like Rowett should be appointed

  5. Waggott needs to go but the chanting should be aimed at the owners .Our focus being on Waggott or anyone else on the ground is more likely to keep them in the job than lose it under these parasites

Plus it will be just be another Waggott when he eventually does leave we had Derek Shaw before him

  6. Well the players have been informed our boos, chanting and discontent isn't about them so I hope winning ,drawing or losing we will be hearing plenty aimed at the owners and Waggott

Even now we are still acting disgracefully...holding meetings without the head coach present ,it's obvious he is going so wtf is the hold up just pay the man off or waive your right to compensation if he takes another job in the next 16 months

I was there - got the phone call last night. Not really sure why me specifically, it wasn’t specifically through BRFCS. But I thought it’s better to be there than not, so I went down.

Basically what Glen has tweeted was how the meeting went. It was an informal chat with the players then Waggott. There’s no minutes.

The general discussion was the players mentioning the atmosphere at home games and specifically the end of the QPR match and during another match (they couldn’t remember which) where they were boo’d off at half time. They said the senior players spent half time keeping the younger players in the rate state of mind and that’s not the best use of time.

I made it abundantly clear to all the players that any booing is directly at one of Venkys, Pasha and Waggott or JDT. Szmodics especially said “we’re open to criticism, we were shit against Huddersfield and we know it”.

I also explained to the players that unfortunately this club has had ‘ownership issues’ for 14 years now and whilst the last five years have been relatively stable, until the issues with ownership and senior management are addressed it’s only ever a stubbed toe away from discontent amongst the fan base.

The players also asked how we could get more fans in the stadium at Ewood. I explained to them the issues with ticket pricing and season ticket pricing — which I described as “abhorrent” — and the horrific deprivation in the local area meaning that fans would love to go but frankly have to pick between eating and heating, meaning there’s little spare money and not enough to be spending on tickets.

There was further discussions which everyone in the room agreed to not disclose at this point. I gave my word - as did everyone else - so I’ll honour that.

Was JDT aware this meeting was taking place?

I get how Waggott might massage ticket sales to hit target. Its a bit of a stretch for him to purposely sabotage transfers to try and earn a bonus or earn brownie points. If anyone has done it on purpose its the owners.

If he has trusted Silvester to do it without checking it himself after last time, then again, obviously Silvester should go but its also on Broughton who clearly hasnt learnt. Obviously it doesnt mean he was twiddling his thumbs, nor do I think he was responsible purposely. But hes another I think we would be better without.

    On the owners behalf .

But the reports suggest the only issue with the deal is we didn't submit it not that there was any issue with the paperwork , my point being if Broughton had checked all the paper work was in order then he should not have to follow the fella employed to submit it, a person who had submitted the other paperwork of the players signed.

Again, I totally agree with your stuff on the real problems. The budget slashing, the moving of the goalposts. These are the quite frankly unsustainable issues that will lead to relegation, maybe not this season but next.

But what I cant get my head around is that you cant seem to acknowledge that Broughton holds ANY blame in the debacle. If it is a case of purposeful fucking up of the deal, and im not ruling it out totally, then surely he wouldnt be at the club now. IF the issue is as reported, following Broughton promising that this wont happen again and the processes will be changed, yet he hasnt found time on deadline day to just quickly 100% check to be sure the submission has been done on the most important deal of the three, that simply is unacceptable.

Just because Tomasson didnt mention him is immaterial. Internal politics. The people he did mention are bigger problems, most notably the owners who are the problem and the rest including even Waggott are just symptoms. But Broughton is still a problem.

Because what I'm saying is I don't believe the narrative, someone wether the owners ,Waggott whoever didn't want this deal going ahead and no I don't believe he should have to follow Silvester after contracts have been signed that does not happen at any other club if it is a case that it's just human error instead of my belief the papers weren't submitted on purpose, if you don't think Silvester is capable then you replace him if everything had been looked over and ready to be submitted then I just do not think he should have to follow Silvester to watch him do it,he could of had to been in talks with other players signed

He could have easily asked Silvester ,Waggott whoever did everything get off ok and have been told yes.I don't think Broughton was sat twiddling his thumbs while all this was happening like Revidge suggests

One thing we all (well, almost all) can clearly see is that Broughton is not THE problem. Nor the primary reason for a shit show of a transfer window where we again end it weaker than we started it, with cut backs and moving of goalposts galore.

But he does have an element of blame. He is responsible for overlooking recruitment, the buck stops with him. Moran had a shocker as a deep lying midfielder on Saturday, Tomasson gets the blame for that even though it wasnt him sat deep in our midfield. He should have been extra vigilant to make sure it went through, he has now overseen 3 incidents like this and has made his stay here (in normal circumstances under normal owners) impossible. This idea that hes a busy man dealing with other things doesnt wash, especially when the bit that fell through was the most important deal.

Broughton needs to go, not as a fall guy and not on his own.

I just find it too suspicious that this could happen three times and too convenient that it's the signings that cost a bit more than usual .

Fleck was confirmed after and there wasn't a mention of his name all day.Have no issues with paperwork when it comes to the other deals

Listen Iv said many times I do not think Broughton is doing an outstanding job in fairness some of our recruitment has been shocking but when he thought he had a better budget even not a decent one much better players were being targeted and last summer when money was spent then 2 hsve done very well and one average but not bad for a million and the signing players up to contracts (which wasn't happening before) have been good things .Like some blame him for the fact no experience was brought in in the summer

If we had new owners in the morning I would want him replaced and a clean sweep across the board including JDT even tho I rate him big time and think he could do good things with backing , too much of the support base have their set opinion of him now

He isn't responsible for it but since last summer £22.5+ Raya money incoming million worth of player sales has been brought into the club along with losing some higher wages and he has had probably just over £1 million pound to replace them

If he goes under the current lot we will get equal or worse ,and I expect JDT knows more than us what went on and he did not mention Broughtons name

Procedures were put in place. GB promised it would not happen again

Or someone at  the club didn't want the deal to go through

Listen 24 hours earlier Broughton was permanent bids for players but again lastminute.com Venky scum turn around and say no you can't have any of the Wharton money.Making his job even more impossible in trying to get the players the manager needs

If you and others want to make GB the fall guy fair enough, but I ain't doing that and seemingly the head coach isn't either

Again GB can't be expected to do every single thing on deadline day when other players other than McGuire needed to be brought in.All other deals fine but the one that looks like costing messes up cmon it is it's feck Broughton's fault

Where else did Broughton have to be other than check everything went through smoothly?

Like I said previously we still hadn't completed the fleck signing. They were trying to get other players In the door

    Was Ennis fully completed?

He could have been doing a number of things ,taking calls from clubs enquiring about our players ,taking calls from clubs/agents offering players, contacting clubs asking about loans, negotiating with fleck .

We dont hear about everything that happened on transfer deadline day but I'm pretty certain at other clubs the dofs ain't sat around submitting documents .Now if it turned out the documentation was filled out incorrectly then I would be putting blame on Broughton, but an error like clicking save instead of send, i dont think Broughton can be blamed for not believing someone would be stupid enough to do thst

He does have a big degree of responsibility. He took it last time and said processes will change to ensure it doesnt happen again. And it has. He is overlooking the whole recruitment side of things so he is responsible.

The whole "he cant be everywhere at once" line doesnt wash. He should be overlooking the whole process being especially thorough after last time.

Mind you, working under these owners moving the goalposts constantly (Athletic mentioned that we were in for Brekalo so I suspect Koumentio was a desperate last gasp alternative)  is obviously a difficult task. But he should be removed from his job. And wont be.

Yeah but according to the athletic everything was correct with the paperwork it just wasn't sent off, someone clicked save instead of send

I don't agree that's Broughton's responsibility,we were trying to get other players in aswell. If the paperwork was checked over and it's true that someone clicked save instead of send then the blame lies elsewhere for me.

In saying that if I was Broughton I would leave of my own accord, budget slashed in summer and then being told you can't have any of the Wharton money after making bids for players earlier in the day.
