Thought there might a bit of positivity with deal back on, regardless of buy or loan, nah same crap.
Why should we be positive?
Kaminski, Phillips and Wharton gone for £25 million + and all we get in return is loans of untested players
The head coach hasnt got what he wanted again!

Blackburn loaners
Christ we can't even sign a permanent deal when we sell a top prospect for £20 million
What the fuck was the plan if Wharton wasn't sold.
The shit absentee owners once again changing plans no doubt

Because his stats in a tinpot league are hardly impressive and the fact that only us and Sheffield Wednesday were in for him Says everything
His stats ain't bad not far off 1 in 2
He also recently received his first call up to the United states squad who ain't that bad these days

Defence is okay for now, we need a Striker & CM if we are brining in more than 1 player - Winger would be nice.
We only have 1 fit left back who hasnt played many games at senior level and one fit rb in JRC who is better in a different position
Defence isn't sorted

Well if Brekalo isn't in England right now he's not getting a medical done in time, so that one isn't happening.
Not saying it will happen but the medicals can be done abroad and have been done that way in other deals

The lack of any info from Elliot or any local press suggests nothing is happening. edit my negativity has prevailed
Elliot gets his stuff from twitter.

Im trying to see when his contract expires but it doesn’t show anything….If he has a few years left he will be expensive - But he’d be a great signing.
He signed a a 3 year deal the summer of 22 when he turned down a move to Blackpool after they had a bid accepted

And got how many goals? Trash loanee coming in
He isn't a striker so wouldn't be judging him on his goal record
Id rather more experienced and a permanent but he isn't a bad player

£1.5m- £15m in 6 months!! Wow fantastic business by Boro!!!
Wish we would behave in this way
It's an initial £8 million loads of clauses to be met before they see £15
And Man city have a reported 30% of that money

The American sources wont be abrest of the Wharton situation. They wouldnt have known about a potential snag that has since been ironed out, so if that had fallen through, then that could in theory explain why we may have no longer been able to spend fees.
But as others have touched on. Why would be specifically say deal off mid flight and be so definitive? That suggests maybe its not as simple as a snag that has been ironed out.
Or India have turned round and said irrespective of the Wharton deal we won't be paying transfer fees out
I wouldn't put it past us having an agreement with palace to announce the Wharton deal as late as possible

Jackson will just be regurgitating twitter transfer rumours all day, he doesn't have an inside line.He hasnt even done an interview with Waggott ffs

The mid flight thing doesn't really add up, considering it's usually pretty difficult to contact people mid flight.
We contacted Orlando to say we couldn't go ahead with the deal
McGuire was mid flight

I don’t believe the local media reports for a second. They stink of reporting the Rovers PR line.
Think about it - why do you inform people at midnight that a transfer isn’t happening, for a flight that lands at 8AM if there’s a potential hiccup in the Wharton deal? You don’t! You wait until the morning when you get clarification on the Wharton situation because the player is on a plane regardless. The plane isn’t turning around, there’s no need to inform anyone the deal isn’t happening until the player is at Brockhall with a pen in his hand.
Exactly.
India have said no to paying a fee for a player.

If Wharton stayed I wouldn't give a feck about not bringing in McGuire
But we know how this ends Wharton is announced later on today and we bring in a loan youngster from an academy
Then told we couldn't find value in the January window at such a late hour
Then a portion of our fans blame Broughton for not signing an Alan Shearer clone with his wage budget of £500 a week
Venkys out

There is a certain training ground loan that needs to be repaid as well as funds to the end of the season.
Max we will do today will be an incoming loan.
And they didn't know that before bidding and agreeing a fee for a player?

You'd like to think that a deal, with both the club and the player was basically all agreed (even in principle) BEFORE he jumped on a plane and flew half way around the world.
Surely, surely Rovers aren't that fucking stupid?
Didn't one of the journalists who initially began tweeting about it say a 3.5 year contract had been agreed?
-
Obviously in an ideal world Wharton would stay but if the deal is happening I wish they would announce it rather dragging into tomorrow and giving the club more of an excuse when we fail to deliver what the manager wants.

I can’t see how anyone can be looking at our squad without Adam and saying we don’t need a centre midfielder. I think it might even be more important than a striker at this point.
Unless they have decided JRC will be playing that role but we would definitely need a RB then
In fairness we did show some good form when Costello was in the midfield

Half hour ago Romano tweeted that Wharton had passed his palace medical

I wonder if the plan (if they have one) is to be competitive until the summer then use the Wharton money to improve the squad in a window which is easier to get players I.e good frees but offer increased wages etc
No doubt GB and JDT will be led to believe that there will be money to spend in the summer but when the time comes there will be some other excuse as to why they can only bring in frees and loans without selling anyone else
That *was* the January Window
