  1. Gestede saying that they wanted to keep some of the players and offered them better deals than they are on now is absolute horseshit. If that was truly the case then why couldn't we have used their transfer fees and the contracts they were offered to sign experienced players instead of basically predominantly using the cheap end of the European market We need the owners out or people like Gestede will continue to get important roles at the club Sorry Rudy but even if it was Hyam pushing the move(I don't believe it was) you can't be selling with no replacement lined up.He can't be that stupid to believe we have enough options at cb especially with Whartons and Carters injury issues
  2. Millwall have had a decent window again
  3. Staying in London probably a big pull for Fofana
  4. Has hyam definitely gone?I'm catching up
  5. Can't even get a couple of decent loans in Honestly we would have been much better off if Waggott had stayed and Pasha and Gestede went, fuck all championship experience signed with the exception of one signing and a yes man as a coach willing to accept it, who will be under no pressure even when results are terrible I'm not writing any of the signings off or calling them shite but the owners and whoever is making the decisions on recruitment have ripped apart a squad close to a play off place and turned lnto likely relegation candidates Some ego on the people making the decisions thinking they can let go of near all their strongest 11 from last season and replace them with cheap league of nations 11 Gambling with our championship status
  6. Preston trying to sign Cannon on loan according to Nixon Browne not gone anywhere yet we should be doing everything we can to get him In.we won't be doing anything though gonna be sickening listening to Gestede talk up our window
  7. Even though I don't think he is outstanding someone like Dan Barlasar at Boro could be brought in on a cheap enough deal Gestede ...ismael...Owen.. etc have seen our games it's frightening if they are not concerned over our options at centre mid
  8. Pathetic if we don't sign anyone a decent centre mid is a must.Taveres hasnt been great and looks like he can't last more than 60 minutes and they don't know when Baradji will be fit to play This has been a shite window, ripping apart the team that finished 7th and nothing but cheap gambles as replacements Gestede ,Owen, Pasha and Venkys out
  9. Brittain was 1 million hardly decent money at this level Szmodic cost more than him.
  10. Sheaf to Wrexham £6.5 million
  11. Nixon doesn't sound confident that we will be signing anymore players?
  12. Surely we can't be letting Leonard out anyway until another striker is brought in
  13. Surely Browne will be wanting more money than we will be offering and would he come here after all those years at Preston Other Championship clubs will be in for him and I'd say Sunderland would be preferring to move him out permanently rather than loaning him.I don't see that one happening would be a good signing though
  14. Swansea have put a bid in for that Lorient Striker according to Nixon
  15. Football insider where linking Celtic with a move for him earlier
  16. I stand corrected. But he was still in the squads wasn't he? Look If you think we would have got 30 million in the summer then good for you but I disagree and I have given my reasons why
  17. It isn't just that He was available for 18 million , it would not have been a secret and only Palace came in.I accept we would have got more but not 30 million and every time a young player makes a move its made out that its proof we would have got a similar fee for Wharton Like earlier this summer the defender real Madrid signed from Bournemouth was used a Spanish international after earning plaudits for a strong season at the top level Dibling after some decent performances in the prem and others they are different circumstances I'm obviously gutted Wharton left so soon and I said we would get a bit more money but not 30 million like some think because Spurs happened to pay that for Gray Whether I'm right or wrong it makes no difference anyway whether he was sold for a million or 100 million we know it wasn't going to go back into the team anyway so yeah be gutted about losing a talented home grown player a fan who was an exciting player to watch but I wouldn't be getting too upset over the fee if you think It could have been much higher.its been said a multiple time by gestede and Pasha it doesn't effect budget
  18. Not sure how many caps but yeah he was playing for them when at Bristol City
  19. 25 million Scott was with reportedly no sell on fee again I think Scott was being appreciated more than Wharton (wrongly) side and was starting ahead of young players at prem clubs for England u-21.I have previously said 25 max I think we would have gotten for Wharton I take your point about January spending but its rare a club are trying to push out a player as talented as Wharton for the price we sold him for .And for eg Spurs where looking for a midfielder like Wharton and if they favoured him over Gray they would have been putting a bid in when they knew we were desperate sellers rather than pay 30 for Wharton In the summer. We were playing poorly , Wharton had his share of poor games also as you would expect at that age It's my opinion that clubs had doubts about wrongly so...why is a lad who is obviously so talented not being picked for the England underage teams all the way up.The coaches must have had a reason for not selecting him, even with big club bias plenty of players from other championship clubs were being involved I wasn't sharing their doubts and every big club would pay a fortune for him now but after letting him prove himself at another PREM club
  20. It was 18 million. That is not a big fee, it's paid over his contract so he signs a 4 year deal less than 5 million is going on that seasons books. If there was zero doubts about him then bigger teams would have been in for him at the 18 million not waiting until the summer and paying 30 Also do many clubs make world class talents available for such little fees in january usually they add a premium ffs?.There was an opportunity there to get a top talent for peanuts really but nobody bit apart from Palace.
  21. Adding 5 million to their books for that year would have made them fail Psr? Imo he would have gone in the summer anywhere for between 22-25 million. I think his talent is worth more but I genuinely think its pie in the sky to think we would have been receiving bids of 30 million for him a few months after teams could have bought him for 18. Wrongly I agree but Archie Gray had a bigger reputation than Adam Wharton and again I know some think it means fuck all but Gray played all age groups for England was in the under 21s at 17 or 18 years of age and had been involved in a Leeds squad in the prem. Dibling was a bright spark for Southampton last season in the Premier league hence the ridiculous price tag If we had been in the Premier league and got relegated with Adam Wharton and he showed the quality he had done for us in the championship then we would have been getting massive bids
  22. Spurs could have done the Wharton deal in January instead of Palace tho? What was stopping them?
  23. More interest I agree with but I honestly think it would have been clubs like Palace and other mid to lower teams bidding for him and iv said we would have got a bit more but not the 30 mill + that some on here seem convinced by I think there was something about him that was putting the big boys off...there was an article about Newcastles interest but they didn't follow through with there interest as they had doubts over him.
  24. I could see the talent, and i disagreed with us selling him in that window. My point is though why did none of the big boys not come in at that price?A world class talent and they let Palace have him for the 18 million? And again rated so highly outside of our vlub but wasnt making the under 21 squads. Why?
  25. Promoted we hadn't won in a game In ages and we where on a downward spiral.Wharton was not having a great season like the rest of them.Moments of great quality yes but not consistent. He wasn't playing like he did v Blackpool every week Yes we would have got a bit more but it would not have been a lot more
