  1. Not disagreeing we sold from a very weak position and yes in the summer we Probably would have got a few million more but it would not have been one of the big boys buying Palace or a similar standing club would have bought him .If a big club was going to take him it would have been in that window because he was going in the summer regardless the other best plsyer getting sold Szmodic we wouldn't have built around them so fan or not he wouldn't have seen progression or a chance of Premier league here We can all agree that Palace got a bargain but the interest from the bigger clubs wasn't there at 18 million yet people think clubs would have paid 30 million as a championship player playing for a team who were losing most weeks , it would be lower to mid teams in the prem doing the bidding in the summer for him and it wouldn't have been much more than what we got The comparisons with Hackney are a bit daft with it being used as a stick to say the people with a similar opinion to myself are wrong as Gibson is selling to a championship rival and there have been reports it's 15 million rising to 20 but even if it is £20 he is going to Ipswich because no Club in the prem will pay that for him
  2. I know what we have spent in previous seasons , I know we have been buying from relegated overseas clubs and they don't appear to be expensive deals to me So I don't have to have insider information or be Sherlock Holmes to work out that we ain't going to be spending anything like 3 million on a single player this window or any under this ownership going off the last few years at least they had the occasional splash of the cash in the past
  3. Preston have bid £3 million for Kone at Wycombe according to the BBC. No major sales and they can bid 3 times what we will be bidding for players I wouldn't be surprised if the hold up on further spending is them wanting to know what's happening with Brittain, not because any of his potential fee would be added to the budget though, it will be because we will have to stretch the already shitty budget to bringing a right back in as if you take what Rudy said as truth the budget is what it is
  4. It's not a fixation but it's a pointer towards him being appreciated by the wider football community not just his own club. Daft you don't think it is.Playing for the national team at any age group gives bigger exposure than not being involved. He was playing in the under 21 tournament in the summer that scouts from all the major clubs and leagues would have been taking a major interest ffs.Poor players that have gone on to do nothing in their careers have played for underage teams nationally have I ever said they didn't. And if Whsrton was being appreciated as a world class talent outside of our fanbase and club(i include myself thinking he was )when with us you can guarantee he would have been making the under 21s and bigger clubs than Crystal Palace would have been in for him whether it was January or not I'm not comparing Wharton and Hackney, 1 of them got a move to the Premier league the other is moving to a championship club willing to pay more than prem clubs for him
  5. Rigg is still at Sunderland and hasn't been sold . Hackney has been a regular for boro for 2 seasons now and had was has been involved with the England under 21s.And also some reports are suggesting the fee is £15 million rising to £20 million which prem clubs haven't bit at ,so Boro wouldn't have got that fee for him from a Premier league team, as if they could Hackney would be wanting that move not staying in the championship We ain't unique with Phillips, Finnernan etc championship clubs lose their better youngsters in the exact same way all the time, even the prem clubs get their young players poached by bigger prem clubs for similar fees We did it with Tyjon ourselves to Rochdale. The rules need changing but crazily it's the efl clubs who voted these rules in
  6. On Hackney various reports are suggesting that the initial fee is £15 million which could rise to £20 million so its a lower fee than Adam Wharton if that is the case
  7. What millions have Sunderland or Boro received for players similar to Tyjon who have barely played any competitive minutes for the 1st team?
  8. They signed a midfielder for £3 million yesterday or day before
  9. Gestede said more than once that incoming fees will not be added to the budget that was set. We are fine with ffp...we spend penny's on incoming transfers and the playing squad wages have been cut way down from what they were previously. So going off your logic we should sell Hyam, Brittain, Tronstad and Travis this summer as they all have one year left. Do you think we would still be a championship club going into 26/27 if we do this?
  10. Why? We have been told by Gestede that none of the transfer fees received will be added to the budget for recruitment. I'd feel more confident of not being relegated with a bit of experience in the team in tronstad rather than having a central midfield with no championship experience. If the situation is the same as Gestede said that incoming transfer fees don't effect the budget then replacements for whoever we sell will have to come out of the budget set by the owners at the beginning of the summer Not a hope in hell we would be able to replace Travis; Tronstad and Brittain with anything close to similar quality without using their fees.
  11. Quite probable they will cash in on Travis before the window shuts but I think Tronstad will be here for next season. Ismael said that Tronstad doesn't want to leave this summer and he ran his contract down at his previous club so I think he will give us one more season and then look at his options
  12. He was sent back from his loan at Bolton due to injury. He also got injured when in Scotland. His injury issues didn't just appear when he signed here
  13. His other loans away he got injured quite a bit aswell, quality player at this level but injuries would have to be a concern going off his history
  14. My mistake it was Valentin who Preston signed
  15. Yang Valery signed for preston earlier in thr summer
  16. So according to you nobody wants Dolan. Yet he won't entertain signing another contract here. Why? Surely if he hasn't had any decent offers elsewhere he would have been more inclined to reopen talks or sign a contract with us? He will 100% have offers like
  17. How do you know he doesnt have offers from Championship clubs?Just because he hasn't committed to anyone doesn't mean he hasnt had offers?
  18. They can take Windass without having to come to an agreement over a transfer fee or factoring in what it would cost them at tribunal. Dolan will 100% have interest and no doubt taking his time considering them it's a big move in his career.
  19. Yeah but in fairness jdt had one of the full backs pushed on playing like they had a free role, they had the worst goalkeeper I'd seen in Whalstedt behind them and players like Markanday and Garrett starting a number of games yet riding the bench in League One and 2 the following season In JDTs first season we took a few hammerings but in the main the defence was solid
  20. If he goes to another club in this country then yes we will get compensation Set by tribunal If the club getting him can't agree a fee with us.
  21. If a championship club is taking him they will be trying to agree a fee with Rovers rather than letting it go to tribunal .He won't be a "free" for a championship club With the amount of appearances made it will easily be over a million if it goes to tribunal more if someone is offering Dolan a decent contract as his salary at his new club will be taken into account If the tribunal are setting his price
  22. Challenging...but not getting in them. And that was with some experience ans we werent just recruiting players with no championship experience and who had just been relegated with their previous clubs. We lose Brittain and even just 1 or Travis and Tronstad we certainly won't be getting anywhere near the playoffs
  23. We will miss Brittains crossing. He will be a big loss Is Drameh any good. Why are Hull looking to get rid after only signing him last summer?
  24. No wonder the rb was so happy, coming in as first choice ffs.Brittain will be a huge loss
