It was 18 million.That is not a big fee, it's paid over his contract so he signs a 4 year deal less than 5 million is going on that seasons books. If there was zero doubts about him then bigger teams would have been in for him at the 18 million not waiting until the summer and paying 30 Also do many clubs make world class talents available for such little fees in january usually they add a premium ffs?.There was an opportunity there to get a top talent for peanuts really but nobody bit apart from Palace.

More interest I agree with but I honestly think it would have been clubs like Palace and other mid to lower teams bidding for him and iv said we would have got a bit more but not the 30 mill + that some on here seem convinced by I think there was something about him that was putting the big boys off...there was an article about Newcastles interest but they didn't follow through with there interest as they had doubts over him.
