  1. The club had made him available. Do you think it was a secret and only Crystal Palace knew we were looking to sell? Do I think we should have sold him in that window? No But I think the player himself would have surely for the sake of his own career been looking to move on in the summer.Yes I think 18 million was too little for him and we would have got a bit more in the summer but its pie in the sky to be thinking we would have been getting bids like 30...40...million whilst playing for us a middle of the road championship side which we have become under this ownership. I reference the under 21s which matty blue keeps digging me about because if he was being recognised outside the club as a world class talent he would have been in their squads and bigger clubs than Palace would have been in for him.
  2. He has played in the Premier league and played well. Keep digging. At the end of the day he was available for 18 million.Crystal Palace where the only club to come in for him. Fact.
  3. Higher transfer fees? Wasn't it just over a million quid? The option to buy does protect us as we have a fix fee sorted so if we choose to make the deal permanent nothing other clubs can do about it.The players terms will also be agreed Him singing a new deal with the Swiss club protects them...Raya signed a new deal with Brentford before signing for Arsenal on loan
  4. Ohashi..Gueye...Toth all signed last summer
  5. Parking prices increased...low pay staff having to pay for parking ...Sky sports removed from the blues bar ....wouldnt surprise me if the next step is charging people to take pictures of the statue of Uncle Jack Years of hell for us long suffering supporters and it doesn't look like ending anytime soon.It Is all very depressing
  6. Will listen to it later We need one of these prospective buyers to go public with their interest in buying Rovers
  7. Yeah that could be due to squad size and them not willing to add more players to the wage bill without moving others out. Where has the 3.5 million gone that we got for Brittain?
  8. What Is Gestedes idea of success here tho? Staying in the division? Hoping to hit the jackpot with a few bargain basement signings to make a few million profit to lessen the money required from the owners to keep the club running? To develop some players from the academy to sell at the earliest opportunity? Imo he isn't here to try help build a team that can get us promoted. Promotion is not on the agenda here. Broughton might not have been very good at his job but imo he wanted the club to progress and wasn't just looking at saving the owners a few quid
  9. I'm sure Gestede said the same thing in the Allardyce podcast. Eddie put him under a bit more pressure with his questioning and he blurted out "My job is to make sure academy players develop so we can sell them" Going off both those podcasts he is an absolute clown." The fans should be happy we have a team to play on a Saturday and Tuesday night"
  10. Every window seems to be strange and difficult here
  11. They played Brittain in meaningless friendlies
  12. Strange that they have decided to use a central midfielder in Montgomery at rb in favour of Duru any idea why? Won't have seen as much of either player as you have but from what I have seen of Duru iv liked
  13. He has said numerous times that the players with only 1 year left are at risk of being sold. It won't have been a secret to the other players that Travis was looking to move on. Quite plausible that he doesn't plan on starting Travis until the transfer situation has resolved one way or another so how would he explain it if Travis doesn't start v Brum? Travis isn't staying now
  14. The bean counters were happy to get him off the books but JDT did say that him and Travis had spoken and Travis wasn't happy that he wasn't playing . He hadn't started a game In central midfield in something like 3 months as far as I can recall Utterly stupid to send him out and then sell Wharton like , but they had told JDT that Wharton wasn't being sold
  15. I didn't hear you complaining and saying we should have signed 3 players for the money we spent on Brereton. Wrexham have signed other players and will most likely add more before the deadline
  16. He was in a no win situation with the question He bats the question away and then Travis ends up at Derby a few days later them some would be saying "Ismael was covering up for regime above, he knew Travis was going " He is 100% going to go
  17. Just my opinion but I think Gestede wants the older heads out so he can play championship manager with our squad hoping to hit the jackpot with foreign signings and that 1 or 2 of them can be sold for a decent profit. Sometimes you can just tell and I do not believe this guy has rovers best interests as top of his priority list. The podcasts he came across as an absolute tool But again he is a mere symptom the owners need outing and then the rest of them will be shown the door
  18. Did you listen to the podcasts with Gestede? Why could Broughton get contracts signed? Gestede was in position all last season no contract discussions started .Why?
  19. No chance how could we possibly start negotiations now when we won't know what division we will be in until the end of the 26/27 season ?
  20. Down to the recruitment department? They have fuck all money to work with and if teams could build championship sides on buttons they would all be doing it.
  21. Owen Coyle and the board were aligned Steve Kean and the board were aligned. Our best seasons have come under coaches who wouldn't work under these crap conditions and tried through the media to make people aware of what they where working under.
  22. That's not me who is saying that no idea why my username is quoted as saying it
  23. You keep saying this "historic failings" Was Gestede not in position all last year? Was Pasha not here? They chose to wait until the summer(Gestede said this)
  24. But what will you be saying if the replacements (if there actually is any) are more cheap foreign imports and it leads us to being relegated. When we start next campaign in League One will you be rubbing your hands together and saying well at least we got £2 million for our captain and 500k for our most experienced defender? Your point is valid at most clubs who would use the majority of these fees on replacements of a decent standard. We don't do that here
  25. He was asked Travis response to the bid from Derby and he responded by saying that Travis has asked to leave. He has said numerous times the contract situation isn't good. And to be fair he doesn't dictate how much or little we offer our players. The anger and criticism should be aimed at those above and the owners the actual people who are coming to these decisions over when we start negotiations over new contracts and how much we are offering established players. Ismael was asked a question and he answered it so for me the idea he has thrown Travis under the bus is just a bit silly
