This would be my worry too---a disconnect between Senior and Mowbray over signings in summer. Of course that assumes a)Mowbray lasts till summer, the Club lasts till summer and c) whether we actually make any signings.

If Senior was any use he would have tried harder to sign up Mahoney as Coyle apparently wanted.

I do feel a bit more optimistic about Mowbray. He wouldn't have been my choice but he has more and better experience than any of the other 6 managers other than Lambert and Rovers may have sounded others out who refused the job for all I know. A steady hand I'd call him.

I always felt we were going down this season so anything else is a bonus but the plans for next season mean we will struggle again anyway.

In short, we will never prosper under Venkys and who the manager is, who is administrative head, who decides transfer etc are all part of the side-show.

If Coyle wanted Mahoney to sign a new contract so badly then perhaps putting him in the starting 11 ahead of the has been Conway and the never was Feeney would have helped

  2. Definitely recommend the the founder.Michael keaton should at least get a nomination for best actor for his portrayal of Ray Kroc.

Really enjoyed The Arrival it would be one of my films of the year too.

If you haven't watched Gold put that on your to watch list. It's loosely based on a true story the Bre-x mining scandal and like I said before a fantastic performance by Matthew mcConaughey

  3. Watched "The Founder" last night.Film about the mcdonalds empire, was quality.Great lead performance by Michael Keaton.

Other good films I watched this month The Arrival,Trainspotting 2 (although not a patch on the first one) and Gold again another great lead performance by Matthew mcConaughey

  4. Thats why i said certain injuries. You cant legislate for the kind of thing that happened to muamba, for broken legs etc but there are a lot of injuries that occur less often if training is good.

I do agree with you in the sense that a proper training and fitness regime leads to less injuries.Just saying that in that instance the injuries at Bolton didn't have much to do with the way Coyle was training then,Holden had his leg broken in a match if memory serves me correctly.Hopefully with Chris Neville being involved with the fitness and conditioning side of things then we should be ok with the fitness of the squad.
  5. Why were a lot of his players injured. Good managers can be unlucky but certain kinds of injury suggest poor care and training

well I don't think it was his training methods that caused Fabrice Muamba to have his problems.Stuart Holden has proven that he is an injury prone player so again don't think Coyles methods can be blamed. And the Korean lad who is now at palace also had a long term injury that season. Those 3 where key players for Bolton at that time
  6. It really is like Kean all over again. He gives "a good presser".

Sorry but how does it look like kean all over again?Same accent?

Did he make promises of champions league football?Did he liken Shane Duffy as the second coming of Paulo Maldini?

I'm dissapointed with his appointment and as I said in an earlier post was bemused by his apparent lack of knowledge regarding SEM,but he isn't represented by SEM anymore, and posters on here who have encountered him and his family have described him as a decent guy.Bad manager maybe...but like Kean I don't think so.

He did well at Burnley and in Scotland before that. His time at Bolton was mixed, yeah they got relegated but in fairness to Coyle a lot of his key men that season wer injured. His time at Wigan was terrible.

A lot will depend on how he does in the transfer market and if he listens to the rest of the backroom staff

  7. He may have been given assurances but those assurances from the Venky's yes the very same Venky's who have given a lot of assurances but didn't stick to those assurances

I curse the day the venky's bought rovers and can't wait for the day they are Gone. However regarding the Rhodes transfer they turned down sizeable bids for Rhodes in the past,to sell was what Lambert wanted so surely he will be given funds?

Lambert and the backroom staff won't have come cheap added to the fact that they worked to lift the embargoe leaves me believing funds will be available this summer

  8. Got to agree same can be said for Marshall two players here before Lambert who'll be sacrificed to rob Peter to pay Paul

To be replaced with cheap dross .. If anyone thinks the Rhodes cash will be pumped back in they can forget it.. No more parachute payments it's now going to be used for running costs

You may be right. But why would Lambert have come here without assurances that he would have money to spend?
