Why has it taken so long for the club to ban the reporter over a tweet over Travis, which was made several weeks ago. I suspect the club have tried to get the LET to dismiss him and replace him with their own PR dept.

We cant be at all sure how good the window is until the players we bought have a decent run of games - probably till end of October. But the balance of probability based on the lack of Championship track record for any of them is from absolutely disastrous to surprisingly okay.
So somewhere between 1/10 (massive downgrade) to 5/10 (just about maintained the overall quality) Its very unlikely we will have improved overall. But stranger things have happened in the Championship I suppose. We get the "fun" of finding out.
We are ultimately comparing
Gudjonsen vs Weiman
McCloughlin vs Batth
Miller vs Hyam
Alebiouso vs Brittain
Baradji vs Travis
Morishita vs Dolan
Henrickson vs Leonard
Grady-Macken vs JRC
Tavares vs Buckley
Plus how Montgomery and Tyjon step up.
I think the lad from Birmingham is JRC replacement. Youve got the wrong double barrelled name there.

His hold up play looks impressive and the goals at international level suggest he has something.
Im actually really excited by this signing and with decent delivery we may finally have someone who can head some goals in!
With the number of chances we create he is going to have be very clinical

Actually thought Cantwell was poor yesterday. The number of times he tried tackling on the wrong side of the Norwich players was alarming although he was far from the worst Rovers player.
Kargbo is just poor, full stop. The new Japanese player looks more light weight than Ohashi. Tavares needs to get to the pace of the championship. Wharton and McLoughlin both too slow.
Gueye isn't the only player who does not understand the offside rule as Ohashi also likes to stray. The attacking ball from midfield is usually released that split second too slow, I could go on.
It is a sad review that finishes with the words 'IMO Ryan Hedges was our best player'

Looking forward to today's match which is usually a bad sign.

These striker links are a little strange. Either we are just bidding for random strikers or Nixon is just throwing darts at a dart board.
I cant for one second see us getting 2 strikers. One seems more likely now we are getting an unexpected fee for Leonard. And even if we did plan for 2, I would prefer to put any money together and just get 1.
Neither of the 2 mentioned seem like anything other than cheap youngish punts with underwhelming goal returns in inferior leagues.
I think a lot depends on when Leonard's started to stir. We were in for one striker before Leonard's exit became public so if Leonard's transfer has dragged on then we probably have that wage earmarked for the one. But if the deal has come out of the blue possibly there is enough for two wages.
Please note how Ive not included the fee as we all know the fees dont effect the transfer budget.

Would have loved to see Leonard come good, but I never saw anything, even when he was fit, which suggested he'd be able to cut it at this level as a first teamer. If we've got £1m for him with some add-ons/clauses then I think that's great business.
Tend to agree with you especially after the seriousness of his injuries but there is still a nagging doubt that this transfer we may regret .

Or Rovers using the scatter gun approach?

Two things I remember Hildersley for was scoring a worldie at Shrewsbury and scoring at Welling in the cup.

🤣He's got significant physical disadvantages compared to a lot of others, short legs, stocky build so i'd say the fact he has carved the career he has so far is a big credit to not only his effort but the ability he does actually posses.
He's like a modern day wide attacking Ronnie Hildersley, if you remember him.
How can we forget him?
Arrived on a free from 4th Division Preston, maybe even seeking re-election at the time. I can just imagine the reaction on here if we were to sign a similar player now.🤣

I think it was McLaughlin, hence why he got booked, and to be fair he does take the man out but the loose ball is picked up by another Birmingham player.
No, whichever centre half it was, he lazily stuck out a leg and tapped the ankle half hearted after the ball was moved on by the Brum player.

You're right!
According to Ismael some of the staff will have to take responsibility as well. Anyone except himself, maybe?
I find this 'throwing everyone under the bus' approach of his lately quite disturbing.
JDT had earned his right to call out mistakes done by staff due to that he had made Rovers perform. Ismael has done nothing of the sort.
To be honest I think he trying to deflect the blame but at the end of the day he can blame who he wants, he is the accountable one.

Kargbo was a half chance at best
Karbo's was a great chance for someone confident heading the ball. It was a relative free header well inside the box.
Gueye's header should have broke the net but it was a good save from the keeper.
If Hyamn leaves the header and allow Miller coming from a different angle to head that would have a great chance as well rather than header across goal to no one.

The argument can be made that Tavares was heavily involved in close to every aspect of that second goal 😅
Agree but an experienced centre half should know what to do in the circumstances. Under no circumstances should he allow their player to break with the ball.
If ever there was a case of taking a yellow for team it was then and showed why he is no longer captain.

Going to West Brom last week we spoke about the lack of creativity and as a consequence the lack of goals in the squad. And in the three games so far it is glaringly obvious that this is an area which will see us at best in mid table. I have been reasonably content with us defensively in the two league games so far.
Yesterday we started the game well and it looked like the plan was to out number Birmingham in midfield with Ohashi and Cantwell playing quite deep when Birmingham had the ball. This slowed down the intensity they like to play at. Cantwell's goal was excellent, a skill which not many other Championship players could execute.
We knew that soon after going ahead Ismael would go to a five at the back and play on the break. Some poor defending allowed Laird to beat three of our players and win a penalty. I haven't seen it back yet but from my seat in the JW Upper it looked so similar to the challenge on Ohashi last week when we didn't get a penalty. Toth guessed the right way but was beaten by the well struck shot.
The winning goal was calamitous from our point of view. There were so many things wrong with it I don't know where to start but sometimes players have to take responsibilities. It's not like we were chasing the game or anything. My point about responsibility was hit home earlier when we had a throw in over by the Riverside. Despite the prodigious throw of Miller (which he did use most of the time) Tronstad went over for a short one perhaps I thought to pull a player out. Miller actually gave it him and then tried to dribble last an opponent and was extremely lucky to get another throw in. Silly in game decisions are sometimes on the players.
Overall I thought we were worth a draw and the players worked really hard as they did at West Brom. But hard work, whilst being an assett will not win games on its own. We need some quality and that comes at a price.
Over to you Venky's..................
To me if the new number 2 I dont think either Brum goal happens. I think his injury turned the game and the way many Rovers players looked mentally knackered after 60 minutes was also a major concern.

Obviously you're referring to last seasons Travis. He now wants to leave so even if he played he wouldn't have given that 100%.
You dont know that.

That second goal doesn’t happen if Travis is in the team, but I’m hearing he won’t be a miss and he’s replaceable.
It wouldn't have happened if Hymn takes the player out properly rather than just stick out a leg and tap the players ankle.

Number 6 (and 5) traditionally are centre backs. 4 is holding midfield.
Isnt Montgomery a natural central midfielder rather than a right back?
No.4 and 8 were midfielders not holding not box to box, just midfielders. They were expected to do it all. When one attacked the other held or vice versa.
Although at Liverpool, Stevie Nicol usually wore 4 and he was a right back
POLL : Who is the worst Rovers manager whose name begins with “I”?

Iley was the first manager Rovers had that I was brought up on as a seven year old so its a bit vague. Ince was a strange one arrived with a 4-0 win at Everton and it was downhill from there are on in.
Ismael started badly and it ain't getting better so if there was option all equally inept, I would vote for that.
