Yep. Survival is being marketed as a success by many.
Of course it is. It was Waggot's season objective at the beginning of the season!!!

Would he though?
More likely he'd be looking at the league below and thinking about how we've got to go to Stockport or some shit like that and play for a draw.
If he'd have been in charge for the Stoke game is all the extra time he needed we would have lost that so that would have put us in the bottom three so my point is still valid.
I knwo Chaddy will say he was in charge but his wonderful coaching had not had time to take effect.

Exactly, all we've done since he arrived is look down the table.
You should always be looking up the table.
To be fair, when you're bottom of the table all you can do is look up the table so with a little bit more time Eustace would achieve this

It's a balancing act - but was it 3 at the back or 5 ? There are possibly things I would personally have done differently - but though not enough, that point could be priceless come next Saturday. We had enough chances to win the match - having 3,4 or 5 at the back doesn't change the fact that we have limited goal scorers across the team.
Granted there were times when it was a back three, and at least once a back two with Carter appearing in the forward line. But other times especially with Trondstat on the field we were a back six.
But when we attacked the only player looking to break their two lines of defence was Ayari who tried to pass forward evertime he received the ball. The majority of the ball was side ways and backwards on front of their defence.
When they went down to 10 men there should have been a statement of intent by bringing an attacking player on but he brought a defender for a defender and a midfielder for a midfielder. The crowd

The problem is that we do not have players capable of scoring (Sammie aside). The only player shooting yesterday was Ayari, everyone else prefers to pass sideways. Even when we were completely on top yesterday I never thought we would nick a goal. I don't doubt that JE had the ambition to score, he simply does not have the ammunition. If we survive this season, the owners will not sanction the signing of any experienced forwards. We'll be relying on Vale and Leonard next season, neither of whom are the next Simon Garner. After 60 years of supporting my club, I despair for the future under these incompetent fools. They are the worst owners in football, aided and abetted by the charlatans SW and Suhail.
Agree with most but keeping five at the back tells you Eustace doen't have the ambition to score goals

But everything, might not be good enough, both have to win, draws not enough.
All we can do is hope for a repeat of the lasttime Argyle played a final game in this division at Home Park. The away team winning to make the play offs. I wonder which team did that?

I meant for a centre half. Not like for like with JRC.
Personally I'd have put JRC to right back and a centre half off and brought Ayari and Telavoic on. There was no need for 5 at the back and with Coventry not looking like getting out their half there was an argument that there was no need for 4 at the back.
Of course it was negative

Must win.
Cannot go to Leicester needing anything.
After the outfield players had a collective brain fart at Bristol, Pears was father Christmas for Ipswich and Wednesday and Eustace totally ballsed up the last game,
Is it too much to ask for everyone to be on their game today????
Im afraid it is.

The owners, board and our senior management expect us to forget and many of us do.
It's like the Maguire FU never happened, although as the ball in now back with Orlando they will be the reason why it never ever happens.
There will never be an outcome for this fictitious internal investigation into what happened in January.
They think we are stupid and they are correct in many cases.
Lunatics running what is an asylum.
And still I read expectations of a rebuild starting this summer.
I can't make this up.
forget what? No mismanagement here

Never that keen on Sherwood the bloke always thought he was a flash git looking down his hooter a bit back in the day and the move to Spurs suited him perfectly at the time.
Really grown on me since though he really understands the town and club which is no mean feat considering some spend years around it and still don't.
Could listen to him all day these days that's one of the best UtC podcasts, mainly because the 3 balloons kept their jabber to a minimum apart from Brown crying about Rovers fans as per.
To be fair, we still cry about Brown so the feelings neutral

Tim Sherwood used to live in Bromley Cross and dined in the Anaz in Darwen and the Red Lion at Blacksnape on a regular basis back in the day. He was always a really approachable bloke, happy to chat and seemed to genuinely love the club and the area. So I was particularly sad at the way he left the club, he fairly stabbed Roy Hodgson in the back by all accounts.
But he is and will be the only man to lift the premier league trophy in a Rovers shirt in my lifetime.
Red Lion at Blacksnape.........another one gone

His philosophies sound ideal for Rovers but Im afraid it'll never happen. Its a great listen especially if you own a football club and live in Pune

Haven't we already got cover at center-half ? I would prefer we get a first choice keeper.
After what Ive seen this season I expect Hyam to be first at the door asking for a transfer if we go down or stay up. Teams will be looking at Carter so Id expect him to leave especially if we go down. With Wharton out injured and McFad's contract up that leaves us with O'Riorden. That leaves three/four spaces which Id expect that at least two of those will be filled by players from the junior squads that will mean recruitment needed for one space probably two

He'd been playing at a higher level than Jamie Vardy (with a similar scoring record), prior to him signing for Fleetwood.
Rough diamonds are out there.
Telalovic probably isn't one of them, but it's sometimes worth a punt. You are correct and if we had bought him as well as bringing in first team ready strikers at the same time then I'd agree with you but we didnt. He was thrown in not in the deep end but into the middle of ocean and it appears to have swallowed him. In Janurary he should have been sent out on loan but again we kept him as a first team player, which this season has been a disaster.

Surely whether that was a fuck up by us depends on whether he’d have still signed without a clause/if the clause was higher.
As shit as our club is, I think ‘the system’ is the main culprit in this case.
It will probably end up the same with Finneran (if we even manage to keep him until he can sign a pro contract) and may well have happened with Wharton had he not been a Rovers fan.
Fair point but if your entire business model is based on developing youth and selling for profit then your plan is badly flawed and doomed to failure so yes the club is to blame for the situation.

How did the club deal with Phillips' transition to being professional in a poor way ?
Agreeing to such a small a release clause as 2 mill even when Philips signed pro was asking for premiership clubs to plunder.

To be fair, I don't think the club had any choice regarding Phillips and the Wharton sale was driven by a court case in India.
In the end the club had little choice regarding the sale of Phillips because of the poor way they dealt with his transition to being professional. The court case was a nicely timed coincidence to allow the sale of Wharton without many questions. He'd have been sold without the court case as the club had let it be known what their valuation was.

Agreed. Needs to show some cajones and drop Pears/Walstedt/Hyam/Brittain/Gallagher for good and stop trying to be everyone's mate.
Fine in theory but to be replaced by? Thats a problem, we have no replacements

He wasn’t the reason we lost last night but Bobby Madley was taken off the Birmingham game and put on ours at the last minute because he supports Huddersfield who are a relegation rival of Birmingham’s. Doesn’t seem to make sense to then give him to another relegation candidate https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/key-birmingham-city-v-cardiff-28969709.amp
Odd when you also see that weve apparently got a Sheff Wed supporter for the Leeds game

In many ways, aye.
But I do also think, those with an axe to grind with JDT deliberately overlook just how badly JE has done on the whole tbf.
You have a point but likewise the pro JDT supporters need to look at his record prior to going. We know there were reasons.
Eustace inherited a poor squad so he has a ready made excuse.
BOTH managers records in 2024 is nothing short of abysmal.
On those records alone both managers should be binned.

I would say the replacements for the position Szmodic plays are Sigurdsson, Markanday, Dolan in that order. None of whom have been played in that position because Szmodic has been so good.
I actually think that the one that would possibly be suited is JRC if he could stay fit
