Actually thought Cantwell was poor yesterday. The number of times he tried tackling on the wrong side of the Norwich players was alarming although he was far from the worst Rovers player. Kargbo is just poor, full stop. The new Japanese player looks more light weight than Ohashi. Tavares needs to get to the pace of the championship. Wharton and McLoughlin both too slow. Gueye isn't the only player who does not understand the offside rule as Ohashi also likes to stray. The attacking ball from midfield is usually released that split second too slow, I could go on. It is a sad review that finishes with the words 'IMO Ryan Hedges was our best player' -

Looking forward to today's match which is usually a bad sign. -
I think a lot depends on when Leonard's started to stir. We were in for one striker before Leonard's exit became public so if Leonard's transfer has dragged on then we probably have that wage earmarked for the one. But if the deal has come out of the blue possibly there is enough for two wages. Please note how Ive not included the fee as we all know the fees dont effect the transfer budget.

Karbo's was a great chance for someone confident heading the ball. It was a relative free header well inside the box. Gueye's header should have broke the net but it was a good save from the keeper. If Hyamn leaves the header and allow Miller coming from a different angle to head that would have a great chance as well rather than header across goal to no one.

Phillips only played due to the lack of experienced cbs. At every opportunity that there was experienced available he was dropped. Wharton's long term injury gave Phillips a boost up the pecking order. JDT's first game Phillips wasnt even the first choice Academy player to come on with Barnes coming on ahead of him. Barnes' long term injury gave him another boost up the pecking order. If those two hadnt been injured Phillips COULD have been even lower down the pecking order and so his first team playing time was limited. Phil Jones one the other hand held onto his first team place when circumstances prevailed because he looked comfortable in the first team where as Phillips sometimes looked uncomfortable at times so I think Phillips wouldnt have got as much championship experience now if he had stayed at Rovers

There are other factors but I agree money was probably the driving force. But joining Spurs opens other doors to career progression. Even at Under 21 level being at a London or a big 6 club increases the chance of International recognition. You ask why top championship clubs havent signed him, that is sample. They want proven talent as they want promotion not somebody else's project. Time will tell if he has chosen the correct path but I agree with RF99 in that if he had stayed here he wouldn't have played the number of games in the championship that he already has. JDT played him only because he had to, if we had signed Batth the season before, like we supposed to, then he wouldn't have played that number.
