  1. Evidence from the beginning of this season would suggest otherwise. He was poor when he started the first few games there. JRC best is playing the inverted full back role drifting into midfield rather than the up and down the wing full back that Eustace prefers.
  2. You must have rotten guts then, I suggest a doctors or a bookies for those two goalscorers
  3. agent fees and loan fees would be my guess
  4. I think Baker will be the one selected in place of Travis. I think people are over thinking JRC. It is quite simple. He is not good enough to play in a midfield two as his positional sense is not good enough nor he is good enough to play as an out and out full back for the same reason. What he is good at is playing at right back who can drift inside and play through midfield as an midfield overload but the risk there is he gets caught of position. JDT exploited this but at the risk when the attack phase broke down he was out of position but Eustace prefers his defenders to keep to a tight system. The only place I see JRC playing is in forward three as that can drift into spaces.
  5. A couple of points 1. How can you compare Trondstat with Atkins? Atkins scored goals where people will have chats about where you there when Trondstat scored? 2. The season before we won the title Batty was the best midfielder in the country, he was never the same player after the injury he had
  6. Thats Hyam's problem though, everything he does is slow......even getting onside last night
  7. Last night's goal is karma plus interest for last season Didnt Lee Crooks score at Ewood last season when in an off side position?
  8. The performance of several of the brighter stars of our Academy on loan this season suggests it may not only Rigger who feels this. How many are playing regularly at the moment?
  9. Danny Graham scored the team goal at Derby
  10. To play that system the one thing required is just one of the thing we lack..........pace. The width both offensively and in defence comes from the wingbacks means they need to get up and down the wings quickly. The back three has just lost a race against a snail. If I was going to play 3 at the back, it would be 3-5-2 or even 3-6-1 with Pickering rather than MacFazdean in the left defender position, and Cantwell the freedom of the park. I know Im going to villifed for this but I'd also use Hedges at RWB as I feel his best games for Rovers in this position
  11. I know this might hurt but didn't we beat Stoke in Eustace's first game playing from the Darwen End first. I seem to remember Ennis scoring in the Blackburn End as a consolation but cannot remember if it was first or second half?
  12. Like to point out that for all the ability that Cantwell has, he too blazed high and wide with a clear shot of goal in the first half. Also I also think a reason he is at a middle of championship team is his severe lack of pace, just like the rest of the team. And when I say lack of pace in the team it isn't just physical it is in thought too. Passes seen to slow, pace of pass, decisions when to move or tackle it is just all too slow.
  13. OK I accept what you are trying to say but the penalty appeal was all down to Cantwell shoving someone over. I agree he is not a good keeper.
  14. It has been tried several times before - Souness with Dunn, Cairney was played wide right under Bowyer. It is thought that there is more space for a wide player to float inside. If they play centrally then central midfielders or defenders can pick them up and nulify them. The full back can provide additional width with the overlap which give the defending full back the question of who to cover, go with the drifting wide man and be exposed to an overlap or leave the wide man and hope a central player picks him up.
  15. I maybe wrong but it one foul throw per side both given by the same linesman. If linesman were to watch throws more carefully then there would be 10 given in every match. The linesman on the Riverside last night never watched a single player take a throw. His eyes were on the players in the playing area so didn't notice feet over the line, one foot in the air or the 20 yard encrouchment down the line by the tallest full back I think Ive ever seen.
  16. Youre right for 50%. Promotion seasons youre correct, relegation seasons youre incorrect, wins are a bonus 😉
  17. Not necessarily, avoid defeat and draw every game will see them stay up.....possibly. A win is a bonus
  18. Really, tell that to the bottom half of the premiership or the yo-yo clubs. Surviving is the be all and end all and if winning an occasional match happens then thats a bonus
  19. Prices, constantly winning are two of the contributing factors of poor crowds as well as you say dodgy streaming. But their are other things such as ease of getting tickets, car parking costing the earth and where to go before and after the match means that the whole experience is not worth the hassle especially if the football is crap
  20. Didnt at Coventry....poor first even worse 2nd
  21. Actually think that Left back or LWB is his best position. At half time I was suggesting putting him to RWB and going three at the back with Pickering at LWB. Pickering being ill actually helped Eustace's decision but what ever way the decision was arrived at it was a great one.
  22. As you say the Sky Commentary team made a big thing about the time it took the ref last week saying how composed he was. There are times when refs can be too quick to react at times and make rods for their own back.
  23. I agree that selection should be based on tactics and form but not the opposition as I think you should set up to your strengths and not to nulify the opposition. When was the last time we started with two strikers, genuine question? Colin Hendry started his life as a striker but it is clear that his best position was centre half so I dont get your point that because Dolan started his Rovers career as a Right Winger he can be utilised there. I would argue there is a case for both Hedges and Dolan if you are going to play inverted with the wide men cutting in and shooting or for Dolan if you want to apply the high press as he will do the closing down playing centrally.
  24. Last time I listen to Chaddy 🤣
  25. Today's ref was a premiership ref. Says a lot about the standard of referees
