  1. Hull 1 up. Hull could have a significant part to play in keeping us up.

They win tonight and Coventry are out if it. They win on Saturday against Ipswich and it would mean Leiceter will almost certainly be promoted by the time we play them. Going into the final day, Norwich would need a result against Birmingham to secure a place in the play offs whilst Hull would be desperate to beat Plymouth to have a chance of getting into the play offs.

Come on Hull basically! I have more faith in Hull doing their bit to keep us up than I do in our players.

We have a hell of a lot of recency bias on this forum and on socials.

Just one week ago Pears was our man of the match - playing an absolute blinder to seal the win away at Leeds.

You are allowed to give a player credit for having a good game. I don't remember anyone saying he was a good keeper though. He's proven time and time again that he's an incredibly poor GK but he has had a small number of decent games this season.

  3. Pears is dreadful and has made the worst GK error in the entire league yesterday BUT he's undroppable. The alternative is Leo who is not even conference level. At least Pears does have the odd good game like he did against Leeds.

Both are the worst GKs we've ever had though. Telalovic is the worst striker we've ever had and this is probably the worst bunch of loan players we've ever had. Not a huge surprise we are where we are when you factor in all those things.

  4. If we lose this one and Birmingham win their game at Huddersfield then we are screwed. They'd go above us on GD and there's no way we're bettering their result on the final day. Even if Birmingham draw against Huddersfield and we fail to beat Coventry, which is very likely, it means we have to get something at Leicester. Birmingham will beat Norwich who will rest a few players.

Plymouth and Sheff W have winnable games so they will get the required points. It's between us and Brum I think. I think they find a way and we go down.

A tired Coventry still have far more quality than we do so I expect us to lose. Yesterday's result was a complete disaster after things were looking so positive after the Leeds result.

The odds of 9/1 on us to go down were too tempting to me so I have done a mercer! Those odds will tumble after the weekends games.

  5. I don't even think a point will keep us up now that our GD has gone; we have to win one of the last two.

Huddersfield are going down but I expect Brum to get 4 points from their last 2 games, us to get 1 point against Coventry and lose to Leicester, Plymouth to beat Hull on the final day, and Sheff W to beat Sunderland and draw against WBA.

I think we go down on GD and Brum stay up. The championship is very unpredictable so I hope I'm wrong though. Just don't see us staying up after a result like today.

There’s a big difference between playing for a point and taking a point. Play to win then take a point if the circumstances dictate. Stood in the concourse right now heart beating ten to the dozen with nerves…would I take a point….100% yes! Let’s be honest, since Christmas we’ve got bloody used to it!!!

Playing for a point is never a good game plan as you're generally sunk if you concede the first goal.

I don't think we'll play for a point today but we won't overcommit either as we know a point is probably enough. Think the game is set up very nicely for us as we know Sheff W have to go for it which should leave gaps at the back for Sammie. We tend to struggle when we have to try and break other teams down.

  7. I think this will end up a draw and that will do us very nicely.

Lose and it will be a nervous couple of weeks, but we'll still probably be OK after that huge Leeds win. We'd have to lose all the next 3 to go down.

Our rivals have some nice fixtures tomorrow though which is a cause for concern. Huddersfield should beat Swansea, Birmingham surely have to beat Rotherham even though they have a new manager, I fancy Stoke to beat Plymouth, Preston are rubbish and done for the season so QPR will probably win that one. We could well be just a couple of points off the bottom 3 come the time we play.

  8. There surely can be no excuses for not spending money this summer. We are told that Venkys can now send money across, barring some small "minor technical challenges"; we sold Wharton for £22m; are getting circa £4m for Raya; more TV money to the tune of around £2m; and Sammie will go for around £10-12m. That's £40m+ in revenue. I know most of that is paid in instalments but we can also pay transfer fees in instalments too.

I fully expect a summer of spending buttons, making administrative 'mistakes' on any transfer involving a fee, and signing non-entities like Telalovic, though. We are now purely all about developing young players and have been for some time. There's no ambition to get promoted.

I wouldn't give a penny to Broughton anyway. I dread to think how much money he'd waste. His record in the transfer market is atrocious. Anyone who thinks we should pay a fee for Leo, our worst GK in history, clearly does not have an eye for a player.

  9. A terrible day for QPR. I'd be getting very concerned if I was them.

We prob have done enough now but 1 more point at least would be nice. We're decent at home under Eustace - only losing to Ipswich - so I'd expect us to get a point in one of the next 2 home games.
