  1. Another statement that is full of words but says nothing at all.

Hasn't the problem always been "technical and procedural issues" with this case so nothing has changed at all. In other words, the statement is saying they have the money and do want to fund the club but cannot due to technical and procedural issues.

    Nothing has changed at all.

  2. Our fixture list may not be as bad as it looks. Bristol City and Sunderland have nothing to play for and are pretty average teams so they're the best type of teams to play at this stage of the season. Sheff W at home is very winnable if we have our full team out.

Leicester will prob be up come the last day of the season so I could see them being on their holidays at that point. Cov will now have a fixture pile up with being in the semis of the FA Cup. They may even know their play off fate by the time we play them anyway with some tough games to come, so that could be a dead rubber for them.

I don't see us taking any points from Ipswich, Leeds, or Saints though. They score too many goals for us to be able to grind out a result against those teams. We don't look like we have many goals in us right now.

It really feels to me like we have entered the end game now, and that Venkys will not own Rovers in a year. Just too many factors weighing against their continued ownership. Nothing specific - just reached a tipping point that occcurs when you know things will change - sort of similar to when JDT was denied access to the press you knew he was gone in a few weeks. This feels like that just over a longer term.

Id say the vital thing now is to figure out how to give the club the softest landing when the money properly stops as that is surely coming, and get it onto a feasible basis without their support.

What scares me is despite having a very cheap squad we still seem to be utterly dependent on the Venkys money. We really really need to change that. Other clubs have similar low cost squads but are not I believe losing as much money as we are. Why are we so unsustainable? What is our mitigation?

Oh that's incredibly optimistic. They will continue to own the club but say the club must become self sufficient. The challenge could potentially come in around 12 months time when we will have no assets to sell and venkys are not able to send cash over. We have big problems then.

  4. What a joke. Probably the best case scenario for Venkys. They can claim to still be committed and blame external circumstances for not being able to put money into the club.

Meanwhile, we sell every and any player of any quality to cover "operational costs" whilst continuing to sign players from the fourth tier of German football and semi-pro footballers.

One of two things will happen. Funding will be approved or it will be delayed again.

I'd be surprised if it gets delayed again given the time already spent on this.

Ultimately you cannot stop people from spending their money from how they want so I'm sure it will be resolved.

    But I could be wrong.

If it’s one step closer to life without Venkys then it’s a risk worth taking.

Relegation won't be a factor, they couldnt care less about that. Fan protests are not something that they care about either nor would they probably be aware of them happening.

The only way Venky's ever leave is if they are forced to for political or economic forces that are out of their control. The Indian government are probably our best hope.

  7. I don't think it will be as catastrophic financially as last time we got relegated. We've banked £22m from Wharton and have around £4m coming from Raya. We had zero assets to sell last time we went down but we have Szmodics and Carter we can sell for decent money this time around too so we'll be OK financially. Plus there's a new TV deal which means lge 1 clubs will get 25% more than they do now and the players will have clauses to slash their wages.

What is does mean is that player sales will cover any losses very easily, but how do we then replace the small amount of quality players we do have whilst also adding quality in other areas of the squad that desperately need replenishing.

Looking at the clubs in league 1, it's a very poor league that we'd do well in. The likes of Garret, Leonard, Gilsenan would do very well in lge 1. But a club like ours should not be anywhere near that league. Thank you Venkys.

    No, no, no.

The record of Eusless is 7 very, very winnable games, NO WINS and a measly 5 points.

Think he's a man out of his depth.  Speaks in cliches allied to copious amounts of bullsh1t.

Today showed, IMO, he's tactically useless.

Carry on like this and we'll think Coyle was Pep.

We are in the deepest shyte possible.

Bold action needed - sack him and let Johnson continue with the work he started against Stoke!!!

Harris has 3 wins and 1 draw in 4 matches since returning to Millwall.  That's a new manager bounce - a guy who can motivate and organise his players.  Eusless is too pally, pally - you can see this in interviews the way he refers to players.  I bet the players love him!!!  Like a feckin holiday camp IMO.

Millwall are slightly different. They were underperforming before Harris came in. They have a good squad and invested a good amount of money in the summer.

We were hoping for a similar bounce but it was certainly hope rather than expectation. Our squad is very poor and there has been a severe reduction in quality and experience in the squad every window.

My thoughts on the game are,

We started the game really well and on the front foot and Szmodics scored a good goal from good play from Ayari, and I thought we would win the game. After Sigurdsson missed that great chance, Plymouth took over the rest of the first half by playing some good passing football and making with real width and playing balls over the top/in between Wharton and McFadzean. We played far too high and allow Hardie to simply run in behind time after time. Plymouth missed a number of great chances and I was relieved to get to half time with us winning. I expect changes to the team cos Wahlstedt looked injured during the first half making a save at the Plymouth player feet. I expect Hedges to come on for McFadzean at half time with us moving to 4-4-2 or stick with 3 at the back with Pickering moving to centre back and Hedges at half time. Plus Michalski coming on for his debut for the Injured Wahlstedt. I was very surprised no changes at half time.

We started the second half well but then we were too high again and Hardie run in behind and McFadzean fouled him. I don't know how bad it was or whether it was soft but it could have been avoid if if Eustace had sub McFadzean off for Chrisene or Hedges.

After that it would tough and Plymouth carried on with playing attacking football and making the pitch as big as possible but they couldn't find a goal. Rovers had a couple of half chances but nothing more. When we would the ball back we were too quick to give it back to them.

Ayari was our best player for me. Szmodics played well. Wahlstedt and Hyam also had decent games.

Plymouth exploited the wide areas alot and their number 2 Mumba was their best player for me. Also Wharton and McFadzean slowest at turning behind them

So overall, its another point and its 8 points from 8 games since JDT left, and after today's games we are 3 points clear.

Its a big week for Eustace cos he has a full week of training to get his ways and methods he wants and get 3 points at Boro next Saturday we badly need.  I would like us to set either 4-4-1-1 or 3-5-2 next week at Boro.

P.S. I didn't understand the booing of Ash Phillips or the booing at full time either.

Also the officials were awful and one of the worst displays I've seen all season.

I do always admire your positivity but it's very hard to put a positive spin on the situation.

I don't blame Eustace at all, I think he's a good manager but there's no doubt he's had very little impact on results so far. The squad of players he has to work with though is awful so I don't blame him. He's also not had a full week on the training ground yet so it's not his fault. JDT is a very good coach and he couldn't get anything out of this squad either once the games came thick and fast. I completely blame the owners for all of this.

    Thankfully we didn't lose.

Now it is worry about Huddersfield v West Brom and Brum v Boro and hoping we are still 3 points above the drop when we go to Boro.

Let's see what Eustace manages with a week with the players.

Hudds will beat West Browm and Brum will beat Boro. We can't blame anyone but ourselves though. Two wins in 19 deserves relegation.

  11. These two home games were billed as season defining games before they took place. And they will prove to be season defining. To very little surprise, we didn't win either of them and played poorly in both.

We're the only team down there that cannot seem to win a game, aside from Rotherham who incidentally we couldn't beat this season; we've won twice in 19 games; we've had absolutely no new manager bounce; injuries to key players; and the toughest run of fixtures out of anyone down there.

I genuinely don't see anyway out of this predicament. We're relying on other teams being worse than us which won't work as we're the second worse team in the league. My only hope is that the championship is a bonkers league and can throw up some crazy results.

Don't be silly, we were getting battered way before that and would likely have conceded anyway.

Agree on Eustace unfortunately, he's got to go. He has less urgency than the players and that's saying something.

You go down to 10 men with over half an hour today gives you little chance of winning the game. If they'd have equalised then at least we'd have had a chance of pushing to try and get a winner with 11. With 10, there was no chance of that.
