Without doubt, better to have tasted the riches.

For me personally Venkys changed the way I saw Rovers. It shouldn’t have done, but it did. Things they can never do though. They can’t take away those memories of Ronnie Clayton running out of the tunnel with the ball under his arm. They won’t ever take away the memories of the class of Bryan Douglas. Nor can they take away Jack Walker taking on the biggest and best clubs in the country and beating them. That was some team at Man Utd at that time, but for a short time, we were better.

When I get totally pissed off with the turmoils that we are currently going through, I’ll console myself with those memories. Even if the club went to the wall, Venkys and this crew could never take that away.

Cherish the club as you best remember it.

They were mainstays of Mowbray's squad, a squad which finished 8th and subsequently 7th. The trouble is that my strongest 11 still has 8 players from Mowbray's tenure.

I know there are many reasons/excuses, but the recruitment has been pathetic since Broughton and his extensive new team came on board.

Our permanent signings since GB came in are…

    Sammie

    Brittain

    Hyam

    Leo

    Sigurdsson

    Tronstad

    Fleck

    Ennis

    Mcfadzean

    Telalovic

There’s definitely been more failures that successes.

I don’t why people are surprised by these results. It happens at the end of every season. Teams that appear to be “ dead and buried “ start fighting for their lives. Tomorrow we get a chance to do the same. Let’s see ether we can do the same.

I’ll be beyond amazed if we can.

So if you don’t think we’ll win at Leeds, as the evidence points to it being unlikely, you have a ‘negative attitude in life’?

So I presume we should all just predict us to win every single match?

Our last 21 matches have seen us pick up 15 of the 63 points Chaddy has backed us to get.

This should really be in the Leeds thread but I don't know how to do it 😃.

I have written to Waggott and sent him the link advising him that Saturday's referee is a confirmed Sheffield Wednesday fan. I got an email back thanking me and saying he has forwarded my email to the Secretarial Department.

    Leadership eh?

Does your ref’s kit still fit?? - if so perhaps you should bring it, your whistle, and your cards to the match next Sunday…

I see, apologies for not reading the full thread. I guess that means the real FFP numbers are hidden and we as fans don't really have any way of tracking them with the publicly disclosed accounts alone.

That said, the Wharton money doesn't have any bearing on the 22/23 accounts and are irrelevant to my post.

If the FFP calculations result in a loss exceeding the lower threshold (£15 million over a rolling three year period) than a club has to send the EFL future financial projections covering the next two accounting periods.

If these projections show a potential breach of the upper threshold (£39 million over a rolling here year period) then the following regulation comes into play.

This means the Wharton money is already of use for FFP purposes (although I doubt this was their main motivation for pushing him out the door)

We’ve currently conceded 71 goals in the championship this season. The most goals conceded since relegation from the Premier League.

    22/23 - 54

    21/22 - 50

    20/21 - 54

    19/20 - 63

    18/19 - 69

    16/17 - 65 (Relegation)

    15/16 - 46

    14/15 - 59

    13/14 - 62

    12/13 - 62

I thought I’d check whether we’re on course for a club record (we’re not as we conceded 102 in the 32-33 season.

1954-55 looks like it was exciting though, 114 scored 79 conceded!
