  1. No mate it's cherry picking but leaving out the full details. Lambert would be a better example, he was promised but it didn't materialize so he asked why, was ,met with silence so said ok i'm out of here. All very amicable by the sounds of it.
  2. Really is that the best you can do.
  3. Paul Hunt also aked for a pay rise at the same time let's have the full story if you're going down that road. The guy was 100% after his pay off he knew questioning Keane and Anderson was the death knell for him but he stepped up and took the bullet.
  4. Rubbish. You don't have to be doing it in a threatening manner.
  5. Don't be so bloody clueless man the world isn't full of sunshine and rainbows there'll be all sorts of rows go on between managers/chairmen and owners. It's stupid and ridiculously naive to think otherwise it's all about having the balls to step up to the plate. Those in little self preservation societies never will.
  6. The board of directors of MD or CEO are there to do what is in the best interests of the club and team not themselves. Seeing as we don't really have that it falls to the manager & his sidekick so they should press the issue as the matter of urgency it is. And let the owners know in no uncertain terms that it's holding their club and team back badly if they don't get on with it.
  7. No doubt the player himself is largely at fault here but why did they chuck such a decent contract at him when it was a big risk, he was already injured and nobody else would've touched him ? Another of TM and his mates little projects here methinks and another that's blown up in his face. If the little plonker won't graft he should've been hauled across the coals ages ago but he's just winging it on his fat contract whilst his arse gets fatter. Then again he probably sees them spend 5 million on a striker to play wide, sees Samuel walk straight back in and Brereton take up the cameo spot when fit. He probably thinks what's the point. Another jobs for the boys gone wrong here.
  8. If he is the Mr BRFC some like to make him out to be he should have been on the blower to Pune daily for the past week. But he won't will he he'll be a good boy and wait in line to be told what to do whilst protecting his million pound contract. As for Waggot well he's probably sitting waiting for Tony to tell him what to do, in front of a load of pre arranged contract extensions for the pals if the money comes good.
  9. Hanley & Duffy went for around 4 million a piece having clocked up quite a few Championship and International games. I know it was a few years back but considering the pandemic i don't see Lenihen being worth double at the min. He's still in the 4-6 mill bracket i reckon Rovers would cash in at that price.
  10. Have to agree with this agents acting on behalf of the club/player/themselves will go to any lengths to start balls rolling. Remember Nixon constantly peddling the Rhodes to Bolton/Wigan line claiming Rovers couldn't pay the last installment and wanted his wages gone asap ? Outright bullshit. It's really odd that even a bot or 12 year old Coventry fan would dream up the Travis thing. He certainly won't be going there but like Rhodes a good Championship side might have his card marked and the water is being tested.
  11. I believe Gally was in the 3 million plus add ons range so that maybe about right but the Brereton deal imo stinks, a lot. If ever a player should have been in the 1 to 2 million before add ons range it's him.
  12. Remember we are talking before add ons, we got Armstrong for 1.75 initially. Travis has no more standing that Nyambe at the min, other than being a midfielder probably less experience. He doesn't have the Raya or TC pedigree either. I could see a package for a decent fee but initially it could be very realistic it all depends on who and how many might have concrete interest. Then there is his contract to take into account.
  13. 3 million bought Raya, 3 million bought Tom Cairney... Let's just think about that when putting actual sale prices on some of these lads. I could easily see Nyambe or Travis going for that of a bit less before add on's. Armstrong and Dack will have the premium prices but maybe not as daft as some would think.
  14. Some if not all of those should have been moved on before now but that's not how he works. I think some of the 'i build football clubs' spiel is a covering line for him keeping all the pals together.
  15. Apart from the 3 million they invested in Akon.....
  16. We've nothing to play for because the team isn't quite good enough - neither is his approach to too many of his team selections and tactics. Two facts which go hand in hand.
  17. Somebody assumes something and he is straight in with the old 'you know this how ?' line. Then in true hypocritical fashion runs around confindently stating nobody else will work for these owners whilst not telling us how he knows this. There'd be an absolute barrow load of applicants for this job managers are mercenaries and the thought of the next pay off is as attractive as anything. We just live in hope that a decent one eventually slips under the HSH old SEM net and gets their people in the Venky ear. Even they tipped up Mowbray who hasn't been bad and he on paper looked as bad as Coyle.
  18. The overdraft is external debt it's what runs day to day stuff so if that hits its limit it needs paying down otherwise they call it in.
  19. Because it's nonsense, i noticed you've changed tack from threatening everyone with Phil Brown.
  20. Pretty similar to a few years ago when all of a sudden everybody 'wanted' to leave even if they didn't know about it ! Still at least the agents will get some more business in what is otherwise set to be a difficult climate for them. I'm sure non of the friendly ones ate encouraging it of course.
  21. Standard Potato answer, rinse and repeat. Only the Teeside football messiah can do it i hope there's some good bargains in the club shop in the inevitable closing down sale when he retires.
  22. Very inventive clickbait that is I feel sorry for a few Coventry fans hanging onto it
  23. It's not long ago he was on about trying to use the promotion bounce. All this season he's gone on about the transition to a possession team. Now it's a young vibrant exciting team on the front foot. If there is one thing we've learned about Tony it's he's a nice humble football anorak. If there's another it's he doesn't know which way the wind is blowing from one day to the next ?
  24. If he got a similar wage budget to last season ( which i cannot forsee ) but we had to sacrifice Downing & Graham for an extra year in order to pay Hart how would people feel about that ? Good move or not ?
  25. But what we do have to do is when we find ourselves in a good position with games ticking down is have a bloody good go at it on the front foot. For a club like us it's all going to be about staying around midtable and getting a winning run going at the right time. We aren't capable of running away with a top 2 spot but we are capable of a late charge into the top 6. The mentality needs to be right for that though, it isn't imo.
