That's what i've been saying about 'front loading' to allow the conveyor belt to kick in although there are a lot of 'ifs' in it and as per with this lot the risk is huge because they are buying high with the 'hope' of selling higher.

There's been plenty you're just cherry picking again to suit the 'negative' vibe. I've mentioned many times we are batting from a position of relative strength compared to a few years ago in terms of squad value that's why imo most of our signings now whatever personal opinions on the individual players do actually strengthen the squad. There's no getting away from the fact that to date Brereton is a 7 million pound sub and some fell Gallagher might be the similar and some also feel we'll be starting with those two plus AA on the bench so that's a fair argument only time will tell. Correct about the defence but it's needed sound investment as well i mean we've had Travis and one or two others chipping away at a spot in midfield and Nuttall up front but that hasn't stopped signings and money spent to try and build up those areas. The value the young defenders are creating in the squad is wiped out by signings further up the pitch who are all probably bit part players as it stands so again it's a fair argument.

Such has been the bonkers and unexplainable nature of this ownership we have to be the only fanbase in England where an element are suspicious and complaining when we are spending millions. We also have to be the only club in the Championship who look like only buying multi million pound substitutes whilst signing frees and loans for the first 11 ??? Is it any real wonder debates rage.

If Venkys hadn't started pouring it in again they'd be selling assets to cover it like a few years ago something a lot are suspicious of happening again so i think the paranoia can be excused a little. I think Tony has had a microphone shoved under his hooter enough times down the years to know he's speaking in public, it's being recorded and typed down and people will discuss it and question him on it. His lack of consistency these days is getting hard not to notice.

With Evans it's what you see is what you get rinse & repeat about 150 times since he's been here and quite frankly im sick of it i just hope they were putting him in the window but doubt it very much as like Mulgrew he's been popping up on the official club photo's with the kit and one thing or another. That usually suggests they are seen as very important. I thought from the min he was signed Johnson would not be a good partner for Evans and likewise neither would Downing, common denominator in our mostly shite midfield over the past 5 or 6 years has been Evans, maybe a dozen games or so aside where he's looked like a different player. Usually around contract or pre International selection time. I just hope Mowbray has realised it's time to move forwards from that but very much doubt it, Evans has had it far too comfortable here for too long god knows why.

Or they bite the bullet, scramble round for a few bods cheap or subsidised and go with what we have until next summer when the pruning can continue. If that's the case we can expect a good end to next season as some play for new contracts again.....

They were a stronger more physical side all round than us that season to be honest.

I'm not sure what people are really expecting with this keeper situation it seems they are set to go down the road of 1 out 2 in and a fee which has been directed elsewhere. Hopefully out of the 3 or 4 we end up with on the books the tombola will drop and stop on one who turns out capable.

If this club didn't keep handing out good championship contracts to league 1 plodders here for filling the squad or a short term job it might be easier to get rid of them. Been going on since Bowyer and even then we were under embargo.
