  1. They'll be handed welcome to Blackburn leaflets and encouraged to drink and spend as much as possible at the bars and kiosks whilst they're here, don't worry about the mess and damage we'll clean that up when you've gone. We've already moved the home fans and ko time to accommodate as many of you as possible so it's the least you can do in return.

Behave and we might think of giving you another home section next season.

    Enjoy your big day out.

    regards

  2. To me he looks like what he is a raw kid who probably should be playing in the U23s regularly to improve his game and build up his potential or should've been signed and loaned out to a league 1 or 2 team to get a few more mins than here and get up to speed with the physical rough and tumble at his tender age.  Rovers should've signed or loaned another striker to help Graham whilst BB get's some more development time away from the microscope.

What he's doing now is basically filling in the Samuel job of utility striker/sub and yes he's getting some mins and experience but it doesn't help the team and not sure how much it'll help him. Everyone wants him to do well and it'll be a long term thing but when you spend that kind of money of a kid he's going to be scrutinized particularly when the first team desperately needs that kind of investment.

Pinch the winner v Bolton on Saturday and he's an instant star and the new Rhodes however.........?

  3. For Mr Cautious Tony Mowbray who's very careful not to try and create any extra pressure on himself it was a big stab in the dark signing this lad right now for that money.

Wonder who was advising on it ?  Did he push the boat out or was it some sort of panic buy ?

  4. Some of the basics are missing though and the point many of us brought up in summer - we need wingers or a winger on the wings to get crosses in, create things on the break seeing as we play counter attack at HOME.

As mentioned in summer you won't get away with playing strikers on the wings every game in this league like we (sometimes got away with it) last season. So so frustrating and seeing as they've splashed 7 mill on a kid who looks like a fish out of water I refuse to believe they couldn't have found one decent winger from somewhere once it became clear Chapman was a no go.

This isn't a knee jerk reaction to tonight but that game did highlight it yet again, it ain't rocket science.

    It was so cringe.

Fury actually said at the end "there is no fury like Tyson fury and he meant it in a threatening way" It sounded so ridiculous

All the pics of them sat on a sofa together backstage laughing and joking after their little stand off in front of the cameras.  Pathetic but the Yanks will swallow all that WWF type fake crap and love it.

    https://www.sufc.co.uk/news/2018/october/blackburn-away-tickets/

Operation 'Fill The DE With Away Fans', led by the Steve 'ear to the ground' Waggott, seems to have hit the buffers once again. SUFC have now received a whopping 2,119 tickets after another 300 turned up at their gaff yesterday on request. Just another 6,000 to go....

Good effort from them there'll over 2.5k on the night probably but Steve & co will be wishing they'd charged top whack if they haven't already seeing as it won't be anywhere near a full end.

Good job the likes of these, Forest etc don't fill it otherwise you'd be looking at the Riverside being added to the away allocation next season ?

  7. It does make sense from the bean counters point of view to nudge prices up whilst the product is at the most popular it's been for 7 years but going off gates last season should have flagged up a bit of a warning. They've seemed to base everything on that Oxford turnout not the rest of the season and like Williams once did in an effort to boost crowds substantially overnight they might have been better directing a million quid of the extra income going up a league into knocking back season ticket prices considerably for one season only.

Once you've got them it's easier to try and keep them than just hook them in again.  I'm sure this seasons budget could have handled that and still been as it is.

Rovers last 3 games yielded 7-7

Sheffield United last 2 games total 6-4

So sod's law it will be 0-0 but given they leak at the back as well, I am expecting the Blades to come to attack.

Echo what Jim mk2 says above for some reason I always think dull grinding game when I see Sheff Utd pop up although that's probably not true !  Like you say though I expect a tightening at the back type game from both sides, they come along every now and then.

  9. A good surge in sales once on open sale which indicates plenty non ST holders fancy it with their mates and all that goes with local games.  Going to be 2k plus which is a good effort in the end despite the usual flak we'll get.

I think i'd pay 50 quid to see these lot given a going over on their own patch for once we are badly due a win there !

  10. Good points in argument of the surcharge above but if it puts a dozen people off then it's pointless and not working, nobody should be put off in an area where most need a great deal of encouragement to think about turning up in the first place.

  11. Must've been a few more paying walk on's yesterday which is good, end of month, great day, decent opposition.  Was there actually c2700 though ?  Does the attendance figure not include complimentary , corporate etc as well which might have been boosted by the likes of Forest on a Sat aft ?

Riverside looked a bit busier which is good, probably won't be on Weds though ?

*Some* young people don’t stay here, plenty do and they need to be catered to.

There’s nearly 20,000 empty seats most weeks. What’s to lose?

That's a good point and is part of what sets us apart from a lot of clubs the stadium has always been too big for the town so that's why for me its always called for something like a Bradford or Huddersfield effort on ST's.  Also to re-engage the fans regularly and on the back of promotion especially, we have it but don't use it properly the easy option is to just keep closing bits down.

They'll never create a demand outstripping supply situation at Ewood unless it was the size of Turd Moor so price increases although probably needed from a business sense  is counter productive.

Try and fill it not close it.

    Spoke too soon:

It’s a good point, because without Jack Walker throwing money at them like a drunken sailor on shore leave, they’d be a League One Club at best, which is about their level.

We’ve had 7 seasons in our history outside the top 2 divisions. Indeed we spent the majority of the pre Jack 80s trying to reach the top flight.

This club is steeped in history, 10th most successful club in England, 10 major trophies, it really pushes my buttons to read such tripe.

The Friday night crew have obviously turned up on there now after a few post work beers.

    Try this for size Forest......

Clough jnr fist pumping at BBE after they gave him a rendition of 'Daddies boy' then Crossley throwing the ball in the net like a drunken sailor.

Official opening of Ewood ,, 7 (seven) nil wasn't it.,, Forest playing like a team of drunken sailors.

Lars Bohinen jumping sship because he was sick of playing with drunken sailors.

Must hurt some of them not being any bigger or better than our league one outfit ?

maybe have a season ticket where you can attend 10 home games per season for 120 pounds or something like that. would allow flexible and suit someone on shift work patterns

It's a fair idea but I think a few probably already buy one at full whack and do that so the club would worry of losing money there plus others deciding for one of them over a full price one anyway.

They should be able to come up with something though some of them are paid good money to allegedly 'think' about these things.

There is the 1875 though which is saving money on matchday tickets.

  15. They seem quite a realistic bunch and down to earth bunch on that Forest forum game thread non of the usual tosh, proper club.

Many predicting/settling for a draw which is where i'll be at although I've a reet uneasy feeling about this one as this inability to string a good 90+ mins together will keep biting us on the arse.
