  1. Or perhaps AS it is more likely to be a sign of a man under pressure.
  2. I already have mate, not that I have anything against the new man, apart from the fact that the position did not appear to be advertised and young Jason is prob somebodies mate (Andy Neilds poss?.....similar age, similar neck of the woods). From what I remember of last seasons column Rev's only crime was to criticise the club publically just as last years 'hearts and minds' campaign to attract more fans was initiated. Not the best timing and from what I can gather a pressured John Williams went absolutely apeshit with the editor. You dont need to be Einstein to work out how much the LET needs to foster good relations with the Rovers (its about the only reason that I have it delivered), so it seems Rev was the sacrificial lamb. It's not for me to reveal details but I can assure you that Rev's lifestyle will not suffer as a result of his drop in income. He may choose to inform you himself or otherwise but I suggest that few members would be gobsmacked at the starting salary package. I rem Phil Lloyd (sorry Rev but imo the best yet.....but not by much) packing it in cos of other commitments but I would'nt be surprised if he felt that that he was being 'used' by the LET. When I found out how much writing the column was worth I rem early last season in the Woodlands suggesting to Rev that 'just for the craic' he should let me 'do' the column for one week just to see if anybody noticed . I then suggested that if that was'nt rumbled that he should approach one or two of the better quality, evenly balanced and more cerebrally gifted mboard regulars of sound sensibility and judgement** to do the same, albeit with Rev as editor-in-chief! Anyway imo it would have been great fun and would have served the LET right! Needless to say I'd have done it like a shot in his position Credit to RB's character that he would'nt contemplate that particular jape but I bet he wishes he bloody well had done now! **S'funny but all those 'Top Gun' members that I suggested to Rev at the time turned out 6 months later to be 'Droggies'! So quite obviously nothing flawed with my judgement of fellow messageboard posters is there?
  3. Oh God Almighty! Oh deary deary me! Was I really that drunk at 3 this morning after a night down town? Paul McGarry......what can I say? I offer my sincere apologies for dissing you last night. That attack was uncalled for and unwarranted. Please accept this as the act of a man under the influence of alcohol whose true feelings about you and your regular, reasoned, valid and even-handed contributions to this board cannot be expressed into mere written words all that easily! I am also sure that my post does not do justice to the way that you are perceived by so many other members on this board and I unreservedly apologise for failing to represent their views properly too. thenodrog There you go Jim, you should try it, a simple apology is easy-peasy and never hurt anyone. You should try it occasionally, it might not do much for circulation but i'm sure that so much unpleasantness could be avoided and the world might be a better place for all.
  4. Thenodross eh? There you go again Paul! You simply cannot resist being insulting can you? Thenoo eh? Well as you have an unblemished record and as personal insults dont seem to matter on this board anymore and you would rather that I kept them direct ......@#/? off ya sad, backsliding, bitter, twisted commy bstard! And so as not to offend others I mean YOU personally and not the entire population of this or any other country. If Modi decides that there is to be no more 'most controversial' awards and they replace it with 'most obnoxious tawt on the entire www' then you are a dead cert, matey. And if you ever get into the position of moderating this board I'll either @#/? off pdq or knock you out next year in the Blues Bar.....or both! There it's so much more enjoyable and far less time consuming, being able to post according to the current interpretation of the board guidelines. I know from experience now that I should use the pm facility to curry support and get McGarry in bother but unlike so many others I simply dont need a 'gang' and just cannot be arsed with the politics. ps Dear mods.. Please note. I made sure that I did'nt use the banned 'i'* word. *(impartial)
  5. You are quite right Modi. I'm not so much mad as bloody livid! I may be controversial, I may be abrasive, blunt, aggresive, I may be accused if sarcasm and using heavy irony, I may be lots of things but I rarely insult anybody directly EXCEPT in retaliation, which was the case on here, both with Paul McGarry and Jim. I'm sure that you have read theguidelines on more than one occasion (in fact you might well have written them) but please peruse them again and tell me on what grounds and why Paul issued yet another yellow. Nowhere in those guidelines is there any reference to questioning the impartiallity of the mods......also read em again and tell me why the initiators of the personal insults got off scott free. The continuing silence of Jim (who should, if he had anything about him, have cleared all this up by issuing an apology) speaks volumes about his character does it not? But then again he must be tainted by working in an industry that apologises for absolutely nothing without there being threat of legal action. When you have done all that then please investigate the second yellow card and you will find that yet again the perpetrators of personal insults as well as posters palpably guilty of breaking those board guidelines seem able to get off scott free of any disciplinary measures. Maybe then you may detect a certain bias from this boards equivalent of Graham Barbour. I am not particularly in favour of this board being heavily censored but I am in favour of it being fair and even handed in it's treatment of all members.
  6. In fact ......stuff it! I'll see that you get your award back asap! (sorry voters and modi...many thanks for your efforts) But it's not worth a piggin light....is it? Jim........you can realise your ambition and you can be the complete lunatic now! Oh BTW Merry fcukin Christmas everyone.......
  7. Paul.....you obviously see fit to ignore your own guidelines so thats fair enough. But if you do choose to do so you should do your best to remain impartial. Second to a lunatic eh, Jim? Dwell on that line of thought too long and it could drive you mad............ Oh for @#/?'s sake!!! Why the @#/? have I been yellow carded for this, eh Paul??? I was the victim of abuse of board regulations was I not? Afraid you've gone well over the top this time matey! Afraid 'Something is rotten in the state of Denmark'......and Board Admin!
  8. Thank you and Seasons Greetings to you and yours Oz.
  9. Paul.....you obviously see fit to ignore your own guidelines so thats fair enough. But if you do choose to do so you should do your best to remain impartial. Second to a lunatic eh, Jim? Dwell on that line of thought too long and it could drive you mad............
  10. Wise up Jim. For 'controversial' read 'most disliked and detested' and you'll not be far off the truth. Whilst I am 'easy' about that fact and dont subconsciously seek or need universal acclaim or appraisal it seems that you are having problems realising just how much the other posters dislike you. Did you have an unhappy childhood by any chance? PS You dont have to answer that of course. Hope you win next time....... thelunatic
  11. Why thank you Tugay but I dont think that that would ever have happened. There would have been far too many howls of anguish from outraged members falling onto their swords before riding off into the sunset in apoplectic rage. Thank you for your generous and gracious losers piece Paul McGarry (hmmm..maybe their should be a 'losers' category.) Also thank you for yet again reminding us all how you so strongly disagree with the basic democratic principle of one person / one vote. Thanks to all who voted for me and congrats to all the other winners. Modi thanks for your efforts. Oh and that 'innocent' spelling mistake......is it a minor one or have you made a 'genuine mistake' by spelling Thenodrog as 'Aggravating Tawt' or similar?
  12. ........does that include when you are at work?
  13. kinell Paul I'd like to see your missus......she must be well fit!
  14. just to aggravate I guess.....they were doing it in Glasgow too. Incidentally I cannot confirm the validity of this but my mate in the pub afterwards swore that he had seen 4 or 5 Iraqui flags being waved behind the Darwen End. Personally I saw a few peculiar tricolour flags with black bars and triangles on em but I dont know what they signified. Anybody else know the significance?
  15. Careful Sidders that last line of your post employs heavy use of irony with a touch of humour. Thats Yellow card territory for sure on here!
  16. It's a trap that a lot of people fall into: The "Soldiers Song" (which came across great on the BEEB) is not a PRO-IRA song ~ it's the Irish National Anthem. Given the origins is there much difference? Anyway moving on......speculation is not factual of course and all this holier than thou crap about the Celtic fans behaviour is just fine and dandy but I shudder to think what could have happened if we had scored 3 second half goals and won 3-1? Sorry but I cannot see any sane person in England who would want Celic playing down here. It's simply asking for trouble. It's bad enough when they win but should any future season turn into a relegation battle the scenario would be horrific. They are a threat to peace amd harmony on their own but I could envisage various sections of dickheads from Millwall, Burnley, Leeds Chelsea (even here) etc etc organising themselves to follow Celtic around for some 'action' when their own teams were playing away. Should more IRA attrocities occur the situation could turn deadly.
  17. Parkhead.........Intimidating? Huh maybe in the past, but my longest memory will that the loudest and most intimidating noise that I heard all night was the 55000 to a man whistling throughout the last 5 mins to try and influence the ref to bring a premature end to their discomfort.
  18. just in reply to your observation, as a Celtic fan i am shocked to hear that such behaviour was going on. Our suppoerters are certainly not racists. we have a number of black players in our side and i can't believe ANY Celtic fan would sink this low. Strange how you lot purport to like coloured chaps so much and to be so against racism but yet you are so openly vehement in your hatred toward you're own neighbours! Double standards in the extreme I think!
