  1. It's certainly not true! In the light of his viscous attack on Morientes when Ron Atkinson described Desailly last night as a "###### lazy nigger" he missed out the words "dirty and bad-ass" either side of "lazy".
  2. Thats a ridiculous comparison. How can anybody add value to any player when the entire market has recently undergone such devaluation? In the 90's year on year inflation of footballers values was meteoric. How else could we smash the British transfer market twice with Shearer and Sutton and then quintuple Shearer's cost and double Sutty's in just 4 or 5 years? MU are hardly likely to draw £150 million for Rio next year are they? Sure history tells us that Kenny was generally brilliant in the transfer market but even he still committed a number of ricks. Have you forgotten the likes of Corbett, Shearer, Makel, Witsche etc?
  3. I've a goose and a gander and they are both right fierce @#/?s that will have a do at anything or anybody that goes on their territory ....except me that is but I have to attack and terrorise them every so often to keep ahead in the 'pecking order'. Got to say aggression is their only weapon. 8lb weight, a blunt beak and webbed feet is hardly a killing machine is it? But its really amazing how many people are shitscared of em.
  4. Yes but everybody knows that 99% of professional footballers are thick! How else would the players at LUFC have voted for David 'brains' Batty to be their PFA representative? Oh and as for their advisor philip. Gordon Taylor himself used to be a professional footballer. Nuff said eh?
  5. Name dropping here but I was chatting to Peter Lorimer (he of the golden years at LUFC and possessor of the hardest shot in the 74 world cup) at a sportsmans do last night and he certainly did'nt hold out much hope for the clubs future.
  6. This saga is becoming very similar to the sinking of the Bismarck in WW2. The huge battleship, pride of the German navy was rendered rudderless by a British Torpedo and spent its last 48 hours steaming helplessly round and round in circles whilst the British Fleet intent on avenging the Hood whilst also scoring a massive propoganda victory simply surrounded it and used it for target practice. Like the circling vultures of the Prem they did'nt kill it off quickly but blasted another bit off it every time it steamed past obviously with the sole aim of prolonging its death as long as possible. Not much fun for the poor sods on board I suppose. Still alls fair in love and war as they say.
  7. It appears that Leeds have gained a 2 week reprieve from their creditors.
  8. Just remind me again of that moment Ste cos it must have slipped my mind.
  9. I give the Leeds fans credit still now turning up in their numbers. I give Gray and the remaining players credit for getting 7 points out of the last 9. Mainly through determination, hard work and effort! I wonder if they can bottle whatever the magic ingredient is and sell it?** Their money troubles would be solved overnight. ** Maybe they already have......to Big Sam.
  10. I should think Churchill could aptly provide Leeds future (if there is one) motto Simon.
  11. Hmmm.....Lots of food for thought there. Good post Philip.
  12. Surely its also used to protect creditors from businesses run as carelessly as LUFC. Administration does not and should not cancel out debt.
  13. Being French I guess that he would take that as a compliment.
  14. I read his crass and stupid comments in the press today and was also amazed by his hypocracy / amnesia. It seemed to me to be obvious that he is attempting to adopt the tried and trusted methods of Arsene Wenger. The only thing is that Wenger has far more presence and aura whilst Liverpool are undoubtedly employing the (very) poor mans version in Gerard Houllier. He has absolutely no bearing or credibility whatsoever.
  15. Wash your mouth out pg! You obviously did'nt go to our opening game in the Prem at Crystal Palace then? Alan Shearer...... No 'getting fit', no getting used to the speed of the prem, no sulking, no homesickness, no lazy attitude.......in fact no nothing except the most consistent, clinical and devastating finishing that we have all ever seen week in week out! Gotta go I'm filling up........... "no getting used to the speed of the prem" maybe because it was the first day of the Premiership for everybody So AS was just some ordinary run of the mill striker and obviously quite some distance behind the 'world class' Turk that we were all soooo lucky to see in the famous blue and white shirts eh Chris? OK you have it your way. Next thing, you'll probably be trying to tell me that Martin Dahlin was once European footballer of the year I suppose?
  16. Wash your mouth out pg! You obviously did'nt go to our opening game in the Prem at Crystal Palace then? Alan Shearer...... 17. Couple of points Jim. 1. Presumably you would like Simon Jordan to take charge of BRFC? After all it was him that appointed Kember so where exactly does the buck stop? 2. Steve Kember? What has he ever achieved in football anyway? 3. Resignation? It appears that at this moment in time Jim, Graeme Souness has more support than you by a country mile so if I may presume to speak for the majority of this mb we'll bloody well accept yours from this forum! ........Providing of course that your pride, arrogance........ and ignorance .......will allow you to do that! You are so typical of your occupation.
  18. Wenger and the RFW are generally regarded as the best managers around so why criticise GS for emulating their stance? IMO it smacks far too much of self righteous, holier than thou attitudes which we do not need at present! The enemy within maybe? BTW interesting hoe Wenger managed such a clear view of the Holland pen dive when always manages to miss so many of his own teams indiscretions.
  19. Thanks for your reply and I certainly agree with point 3. It's better not to attempt a match report as it simply usurps their regular reporter and there is a danger of doing a match report to death. Be warned though if the guys in the pub dare to criticise the club in any way at all ffs dont write about it else JW will be down on you like a tonne of bricks!
  20. Welcome Jason and full marks for your honest and frank approach to your detracters on here. We are all 'Rovers' and I dont want you to think that I am giving you a hard time without reason but could you possibly clear up a few points that I have quoted from your post and which I am still not clear about.... 1. Surely thats bloody odd! Why you in particular then? No advert for the position, no interview, no connection with anything in fact...... so can I assume that you were incredibly chosen (on a probability of something like 1 in 100,000) by a blindfolded Paul Plunkett throwing a dart at a Blackburn postal directory? 2. You write in the past tense Jason!......you obviously know them now then so will you now inform us all exactly what those circumstances were then? 3. No problems with that Jason BUT why did he not simply pick somebody else who does attend every match including away matches? I cannot for one minute think that he will allow Andy Neild the same luxury! tnr
  21. jason Whalley on Neill............."With that one foolish act he cost us the chance of three points in what, at the time, was a hugely entertaining game being played at a ferocious pace." Ferocious pace?!?........Aha There's the rub!
  22. C'mon then you guys from the Telewag. Own up, Time to come out of the closet. My moneys on young Jason being Gourgeous Blue Babe, and Plunkett turning out to be Dr Stamen
  23. If it is indeed the case that getting rid of Rev and replacing him with a hand-picked 'Yes Man' was contributable to John Williams then should'nt he consider offering Jason Whalley a place on the team coach if Jason is finding it so difficult to be a 'proper' columnist and attend each match in person? Alternatively if the editor is satisfied with somebody who after just one away game cares enough about his responsibility that he would rather get @#/? up in the pub and write sub-standard second-hand articles based on Modays match report than actually attend the match then protestors should simply stop buying the paper.
  24. Dont be too cock-sure about that Oz! I've a feeling that Rev's about to prove a more than capable 'Droog'. Eh Simon? :'>
  25. Well thanks for the compliment Samuel but the content of your post confirms that you must have been reading it anyway! Anyway when are you and the rest of your dingle mates gonna pluck up the courage to come out of the closet and fill up the Darwen End? We know, you know and the world and his wife knows that you all really want to.
