It is indeed looking very likely now. I was just about to slate krislu for jumping the gun there, until I read the article in the last post...
Fantastic news awaits us, I'm now 90% sure of it.
Translation (quotes only):
"I will be meeting with the club about this (move) sunday night. So this was probably my last game for the club.
"It is my dream to play abroad. Blackburn manager Graeme Souness has been in direct contact with my agent Rune Hauge the last few days, and everything is in order now for the deal to go ahead. I will make an agreement with TIL tonight.
"We are negotiating with Blackburn right now, yes. 3 points of discussion are: What the TIL board say, what MGP wants and the economical aspect of it, says TIL manager Per-Mathias Høgmo.
"We rejected a bid of 16-17 mill (NOK) the last time around, but the deal may go through now if the board agree.
"Have you agreed the personal details with Blackburn, Gamst Pedersen?
"It appears to be somewhat better than at TIL, yes (smiles)"

You get the impression from that interview that he wants to leave, however not necessarily for Rovers. I dreamt last night that he rejected us for someone else... I can't really see us stumping up the cash anyway.
-
No offence, but your friends are archetypical manure fans, arrogant and ignorant!
-
So this is where all the sensible people hang out?
Except the odd optimist.
Give it more than 2 games before you say 'whatever we try it doesn't work'.It's been quite a few games since Souness lost the plot. I'm afraid a change is in order but would loved to be proved wrong by the man himself. The worst thing is how we go into the new season with no apparent system or starting eleven.
-
Andy Cole - he's obviously motivated by his move, just like he was when he came here. Just watch him falter in his second season, if it takes that long. I think we should worry more about what he'll do to our shambolic defense when we play them, than what he's up to now.
-
The problem is, Souness has NO IDEA what his best team is.
Correct. You're meant to find out your first team in pre-season. Souness messed around and the only thing he found out was that Gresko was the new Patrick Vieira - or so he thought until half-time of the West Brom game.
All hail Souness the tactical numpty. Yes, the last minute pen was outrageous but never mind that. We were playing against a poor and confidence-drained Southampton side and what team does Souness pick?...
A quality centre back on the left wing and an immobile veteran central midfielder (Flitty) on the right wing.
Totally bizarre - but in keeping with Souey's absolute negativity. I bet he'll be happy that we're on target for his 'ambitious' 4th from bottom target.
Amen.

Your not even a real blackburn fan so dont talk utter pants. Living in oslo, you just dont think or have the same feelings as people in this country.
You're talking out of your arse mate.
You think I've been involved in building up this site, as well as the norwegian one over the last years if I'm not a 'real' fan?
You know nothing about me.

Tromsø have today comfirmed that Blackburn Rovers made a new bid for Morten Gamst Pedersen on friday night. The news doesn't say anything about how big the bid is. On wedsday there where 7 Premier League clubs in Oslo to watch him play for Norway against Belgium.
He's basically saying that if the bid is good enough, and the player wants to go, he will be sold. We've made a bid, but they are focused on the game against Rosenborg tonight, so we might get some more news on this tomorrow or monday.
If they win against Rosenborg, they have a decent chance to win the league, and would be pretty desperate to sell MGP now IMO. If they don't, they probably won't be able to close the gap and might as well sell him now.

Souness needs to start fielding his best team from the start. We are wasting 45 mins a game at the moment.
The problem is, Souness has NO IDEA what his best team is, or even how they should play (if he does, he is certainly unable to communicate it to his players).
We can blame the ref, sure, but the fact is we were crap today, against a crap team. It doesnt matter how many grafters we put in midfield, because our defense is still horrible. Bunch of headless chickens. Especially Emerton. I've just stopped waiting for him to come good, because he won't. It think he might even be more useless than Neill.
- Short and Nissa were pretty disappointing. It doesn't do much good to play alright the whole game then fail when it matters the most.
- I'm pretty sure Flitcroft wasn't there...
- What everyone else said
Sorry about the negativity, but all my fears were just confirmed today. I did get something positive out of the game though:
- Tugay was class
- We can still score
- Gray is solid, Fergy and Matteo are pretty average, but should be useful.
- Excellent play leading up to Fergy's goal
- Friedel seems to be approaching his best form
- Neill wasn't so bad when he came on
-
Have you been drinking young man?
Never!
Now sober:
12. Blackburn Rovers
EDIT: If we get a new striker/Yorke turns out to be as good as they want us to think.
-
yeh. yous think you knows but actually this is the shizzint:
19, B. Rovas
-
Impressive optimism, however I don't share it with you. I'll be impressed if Souness can guide this team to a top 10 finish, let alone still be the manager when the season ends.
Wish I could be more optimistic about the season ahead. Still can't wait for it to start though.
-
The season hasnt even started yet. But people are writing him off. Its absolutely unbelievable. Has it ever occured to you that Graeme Souness and his team of coaches know more about football than you do?
People are writing him off because he's a defender playing in midfield, against crap opposition nowhere near the pace of the PL. In addition its something he did all last season without much luck, so there's more than enough reason to be wary.
But I admire your loyalty to the man.
-
Jay should get #3 now
And I agree the squad numbers are strange. Why couldnt they just leave it like last season and only make the obvious changes like Stead to 9 and De Pedro to 10. Yes why is it, that when he requested 10 they gave it to Dicky instead?? He must feel a little bewildered. Oh well...
-
Where's Todd?
Or more importantly, Flitcroft?
-
Radio Rovers eh? Not Rovers World I gather....?
-
1 Whealing og
Aint that the young fella who was in the Rovers youth teams a few seasons back? Anthony Whealing. If it is, nice to see he still cares about us.
-
How about Colin Hendry and David Speedie?
-
Do we need to hunt down Gally?
-
The figures are simply astonishing. Its probably more than most 3rd world countries GNP p.a. .... how sad is that.
-
Right you are, it appears now (accoring to ESPN) that Drogba has signed for around £24 million, while Tiago has passed a medical and only has to accept the contract offer.
Madness indeed. Surely there must be some departures after pre-season when he has had a better look at everyone?
-
Mourinho just said the other day that they would not be signing any more players, so I doubt they will be signing Tiago or Drogba. Unless he's just being media clever...
-
Who do you prefer, LDRover?
-
If I was the boss you mean? Well in that case ...
What on Earth is that?! McEverley at the back, he's been out for ages! And Nissa?! Emerton at RB?!
Our best 11 (I think):
Friedel
Neill, Amoruso, Matteo, Gray
Gally, Fergie, Tugay, de Pedro
Dickov, Stead
Well Bryan, I think Matteo and Amo are crap, Short is a good squad player but too old. And I'm sure after pre-season every player starts on the same physical level (apart from Amoruso who will probably be injured for the majority of the season). I'd rather see wing back Emerton playing right back than wing back liability Neill.
Gamst Pedersen
