Yes Dominic Hyam had a very poor performance against Bristol City where he made 3 massive mistakes but lets not over reacted cos in previous games he was very good and back to last season very good form and looking like the Hyam we voted for as Player of the season last season

Come on Chaddy, four or five good months when he first joined but he's been crap ever since.

eustace first words to hyam before he gets showered should be " see me in my office tommorow, your going on the list because that is the worst f*****g performance iv`e ever seen from a centre back and it`s not acceptable,im`e not having it in my dressing room and anyone else who wants to **** off just tell me,i`ll get rid of the lot of you"

    Spot on.

The infamous John Sitton rant springs to mind after that.

"And you can bring yer fuckin' dinner as well!"

We play well against decent sides..

We struggle against mid to lower table teams.. there is a mindset issue.

Also we have players that live off one good game in 3 or 4.

This team does not have growth mindset a bit like the club from top to bottom.

    Spor on.

There's  no pressure on results from the top and we play down to it accordingly.

I think Hedges is one of our few players who I can see stepping up a level like Szmodics and Diaz have in the past. But his injury record is horrendous and he can't settle a run of a games.

In terms of all round ability he's got a lot going for him - great workrate, strong, a goal threat, reasonable pace. He rarely does less than a 7/10 performance and the odd one better than that. How we get him to play more than half a dozen games in a row is the problem. Similar to JRC in that regard.

Goal threat? according to Wiki as far as I can see at Championship level or above  he's scored 11 goals for Aberdeen and and six Championship goals in England inc 4 in  43 for us.

17 career goals at a decent level and he's 28!

Hedges isn't lacking in talent at all. Has a decent first touch, good weight of pass and can beat a man. His fitness is terrible though

Do agree on the game of opinions. When do you reckon will be the next time you have a good opinion of one of our players? 🤣

When we sign some good ones!

I have a good opinion of Szmodics. I also seem to have a much higher opinion of Scott Wharton than many.

I think you're forgetting we're on a run of one win in twenty odd games under two different coaches the first of whom many on here revere as the best thing since sliced bread so they can't be that good.

Hedges is 100% in our best 11. He's probably the best footballer we have now. If he had Szmodics' natural fitness he'd be fantastic at this level

I don't think we'll have as much success this game as we did against Southampton. They aren't as slow on the ball, which allows us to get back in to shape. The way Eustace sets his team up suits the underdog more. In games where we should dominate the ball more, the lack of quality and attacking emphasis will show up more

Going to go for another bore draw

Blimey, shows what a game of opinions football  is! I think Hedges is absolutely dire and would struggle to get a game at League 1 or League 2 level if he wasn't here. Like Gallaher he's an absolute sick note as well so you'd be extremely hard pressed to find two players who offer less in terms of talent  and reliability than either of those 2 imo.

Under Eustace he looks back to his best from a few years back.

I thought he got some very harsh criticism for his comments about JDT - if he didn't like playing suicide football in a kamikaze system that's his prerogative.

Some managers and players just don't see eye to eye.

How? We've conceded in nearly every game.

If we'd have had 7 clean sheets I would say that is true but we're still conceding goals only now, today aside, we've totally nullified our attacking threat.

Almost as though having nothing up front means more has to be committed forward to create goals and that, funnily enough, leaves us exposed at the back.

When Szmodics is sold for a pittance in the summer and he's not replaced how many will we win when conceding nearly every game and we've got Markanday and Leonard up front?

    Bah Humbug.

  9. I'd say that's three fairly decent performances under the circumstances in the last three games against Boro, Brum and Ipswich given the run we'd been on under each of the last 2 coaches. Hopefully we're starting to turn a corner and there are grounds for cautious optimism.

If Dolan or Gallagher came up for sale at another club, we wouldn't be able to afford them. They're already paid for, it's vitally important they're both signed up.

Are you Gallagher's Mum? He's an absolute liability and our top earner to boot.

I would however like to think we could sign Dolan up - failure to do so would reflect extremely badly on Broughton yet again

Not at all. I am basing my opinion on not only the results, but also the way we have played.

If he keeps us up, I will go into the summer as a very relieved fan and so far as I am concerned, the slate is then clean for next season, with the manager.

For clarity, I do not blame the manager for the current mess, he was on a hiding to nothing.

Spot on, that's roughly my position as well.

I don’t look at that team and think it is a team that , if applying themselves correctly,  should be going 16 games without at a couple of wins.  If this was in November I’d be genuinely hoping for a win with that line up.

Even the bench is looking stronger than the last few months albeit without a striker.

Have to disagree - selecting Hedges and Gallagher is like playing with nine men.

I'm not sure why Ayari hasn't had more game time, he looks a pretty decent player.
