Speaking of strikers. Our old player Marcus Antonsson has scored 20 goals in 29 games this year (one game remaining). His contract is up at the end of the year.

Barry Douglas didn't leave much of an impression, on me at last.

It was funny, I was listening to a Swedish podcast about EFL, and they were discussing Sunderland. They thought it was so strange that Mowbray played so many players out of their natual positions. I was thinking to myself that it sounded vaguely familiar... 😉

There's a player I've never heard of! When did Bradley Who play for us? 😉

Morton and Brittain have been absolutely brilliant tonight.
Agree. Brittain's first half was brilliant.

I was searching through older squads looking for a player who's name just escaped me (James Beattie). I found a player that I can't even remember his name at all; David Yelldell. Seems he was a goalkeeper in 04/05. Totally blank for me, don't even recognize the name, at all.

Dickson etuhu. Awful signing
And also an awful person...
"In November 2019 he was found guilty of match fixing by a Swedish court, and said he would appeal. Both Defence and Prosecution said they would appeal the sentence."

i`de like to baseball bat him for misusing harrison reed and flogging raya cheaply then bringing in walton
Oh yeah, that crap. Wasn't it something really absurd that Reed would have to learn to play CM by watching Richie Smallwood, or something like that?
And Walton must be one of the worst keepers I've ever seen in a Rovers shirt, along with Jason Steele.

Henrique, CB from Portugal, anyone remember him?
Radoslav Petrovic, Jordan Slew, Luke Varney, Simon Eastwood, Matt Grimes, Hope Akpan, Dominc Samuel, Wes Brown(!)...
Wow, we've had a lot of forgettable players the last 10 years...

Roque santa cruz. He had a good season but going to man city was a mistake. I think that signing underlined that Hughes wasn't up to the city job.
We mustn't (or we probably should to be honest) forget Julio Santa Cruz, the younger brother of Roque. He graced us with 11 games for the reserve team betweem 2008 and 2011.

DJ Campbell is another one I'd rather forget...

Players I wish we could forget..... Bradley Orr, Danny Murphy, david goodwillie, Anthony Stokes, Shane Duffy... Just from recent memory!
Oh and one real cracker of a "Forgotten player" from not really that long ago! that I don't think has been mentioned yet!
Grzegorz Sandomierski
Don't forget the man with probably the most ironic name in football; Leon Best. God I wish I could forget him.
If I remember correctly, his only goal for us came when he scored an own goal while playing for another club...

Carlos Villanueva, another one of the forgotten ones.
I remember him having some decent moments, but not much else.

It's very easy to forget that Dino Baggio and Youri Djorkaeff played for us (apologies if mentioned before).

Good shout for Gudmundsson! He arrived with a lot of hype around his potential
His son is actually a decent player now, on the verge of the Swedish National Team. Plays for Lille OSC.

Three assists, or so, on his full debut, I vaguely remember, with Bellamy scoring. But he didn't fulfill his potential and his career faded quickly. There were always claims that he had a negative attitude - though, don't know any details. If I remember rightly, he messed up a Panenka penalty attempt in a pre-season game which added to his reputation (though, I'm going off hazy memory).
That was back in the day that Rovers recruited many more overseas youth players from France, Germany and Spain. From Germany, I remember Mamadi Keita, Kevin Pezzoni and Bjorn Bussman who played U18s or U21s. I think the consensus was that Peter had the talent to do well but something went wrong.
Wow, those names bring back so memories, especially for FM/CM. I remember Mamadi Keita becoming really good in Football Manager.
My take on forgotten players, some Swedes (apologies if mentioned before)

@ whoever mentioned Birmancevic, seems he's on is way to Toulouse, according to Swedish media.

Sergio Pena wants out of Malmö it seems, don't know if he ever worked with JDT, but cracking player on his day. Peruvian national player as well, so should get a work permit. No idea if realistic or if he would come here.

Bellamy and Mark Hughes up front this season, unstoppable!
Bellamy working as a coach at Burnley just feels so wrong. 😞

I booked tickets to Passenger in Gothenburg today. Although, to be honest I booked it mostly to see the opening act, Luke Sital-Singh. Class singer/songwriter. If you're into sad music.
