Also equal to his predecessors, you remember the ball that was 'launched' into Rivaldo's face at WC2002?
I was talking about Brazil in the 60’s and 70’s as per my original post.

I dunno I think you might wanna fish out some Neymar highlight reels. I used to not see what the fuss was about either from what I had seen, until I watched some. I ended up thinking it was unfair what he did to some of those professionals, embarrassing them like that.
It’s not his skill I’m questioning which is equal to his predecessors in the yellow shirts. It’s his diving and rolling around that I can’t abide, which is where he shows no class.

He'll probably be coming home after tonight,i can't see Chile beating Brazil. He shared the pitch with Messi a couple of weeks ago now he comes up against Neymar.
It would seem so yes, but on the other hand we can only hope BB scores a hat trick and consigns Naymar to dust. I grew up watching the Brazilians of the 60’s and 70’s and I think the Brazilian players of that era may think that Naymar isn’t really a Brazilian at all. Good player he may be but nowhere near the class of the best team I’ve ever seen. The 1970 Brazill WC team.

“The forward’s Blackburn Rovers teammate Ben Brereton has recently committed his future to Chile and has appeared at Copa America off the back of it. Gallagher wants to follow a similar path with Scotland”.
Someone should tell him that Scotland don’t play in Copa America 😃😃

I think we should have a poll to see how many of those players are recognised by fans who have boycotted over the past three or four seasons.

That would be interesting if he went to Leeds and Bielsa turned him into a superstar.,That would show everyone what a tit Mogadon really is.

Pity he doesn't show a bit of loyalty to the club and manager who made him and sign a new deal. That would be swell.

That is a first class resume of what has happened to us and also it embodies what the Rovers means to the fans, the community and the well being of the town. It is also impressive of the response from Tracy Crouch.
I wonder what Kate Hollern’s response to this is? Does she care? Let’s hear from her. Over to you Kate.
I have already written to Tracy Crouch to ask her to get a response from Kate Hollern.- 5

In the words of Jim Royale, “Data my arse, they stuck it in the onion bag twice and we didn’t at all therefore we lost 2-0”

I notice them too
Funnily enough, the Times style guide says football clubs are always singular and teams plural, which I've always adhered to
Had a "robust" conversation with a US friend recently who insisted it was the other way round
Why would you waste your breath explaining English to a US citizen? They don’t speak English nor can they spell English words.
Mind you some of our top pundits can’t speak grammatical English either. “They done well” or “The boy done well”Give me strength!!

I went to that game with a RAF mate and spent the weekend at his place in Rutherglen. Douglas was unplayable and when we got back home, his dad was apoplectic and raged “We’ve put up with Matthews all these years and now you’ve got bloody Douglas”. The headline on the back page of the Scottish Sunday Express just said “BLACK DOUGLAS”
I remember that headline. Duggie played them off the park and my Scottish relatives thought Douglas was better than Matthews.

Seven days earlier Ronnie and Duggie were playing for England v Scotland at Hampden. England won 4-0 with Duggie scoring the first.

I have been to old firm games since the early 60’s and have only ever seen the same passion at one other match that I have witnessed. That was in Buenos Aires for Boca Juniors v River Plate.
Big clubs, Arsenal or Spuds? Give me a break.- 1

Gareth Ainsworth on today’s result for Wycombe
"We were so close but next time we'll get over that line, believe me, because we've learned as a club - I've got things wrong this season but I've always given my best and done what I thought was right”.
"I can't wait for next season because we are going to make another mark in League One”.
Now there’s a manager of passion, but it looks like he has no plans to go anywhere.

The LT doesn’t have a standalone editor (or a Blackburn newsroom or sub-editing team) anymore.
As well as the LT, the editor (Steve Thompson ) covers The Bolton News, The Oldham Times and The Bury Times.
The newsroom is in Bolton and if you wondered why there are so many glaring mistakes when it comes to locations, street names etc, that’s because the sub-editors are in South Wales.
A Blackburn and east Lancs operation, it ain’t.
That explains the grammatical errors that abound in the paper. Journalists, Editors, I think not.

There is a club in the Lowland League in Scotland who have a manager with Rovers connections that the Venkys could easily sign up to be our next messiah, and we would be very dissatisfied with their choice. We would even want Mowbray back.
My brother in law lives in Kelty in Fife and I am due to visit when lockdown is relaxed so may have to go round to the local football club to dissuade their manager from applying for the Ewood job.- 1

F**k him. Blocking the LT would actually be good publicity for them. Someone is choosing the way they are presenting this situation
Reading some of the post match comments in the LT after every game makes me wonder sometimes if there is someone at Ewood actually making some of the comments themselves. I mean you’d think that Mowbray was a heaven sent saviour with some people in the LT comments list.
The LT on the other hand will not print any comment that is too derogatory towards Mowbray in their eyes it would appear. I sent in a comment asking them to grow some and call out Mowbray over the statements he has made regarding how he said he is an honourable man, he would not be a burden on the club, blah blah blah. Of course the LT didn’t print my comment.- 2

Not a fan of suggesting people just because they worked under a top manager.
Exhibit A - Brian Kidd
Exhibit B - Warren Joyce
And let's be honest, Mikel Arteta isn't exactly pulling up any trees.
A good coach/No.2 under a top manager doesn't necessarily translate into a good manger in the making. Very often, they need to be an entirely different type of person in what tends to be a good cop/bad cop role.
I'm not saying it doesn't ever work, there are plenty of examples where it does. I just think we need someone who has at least had some success as a manger somewhere rather than gambling on a novice in the hot seat.
You beat me to it with Exhibit A there.

I met TB on a flight from Cyprus at the time he was at Ibrox. He was a really friendly character and we chatted for a while. I had to tell him how I always admired him as an England player giving his all for the cause on many occasions, but my admiration was severely tested by him signing for the blue noses. He couldn’t understand how a Rovers fan could have a problem with it until I told him that I was born in Glasgow only a stones throw from Ibrox but I was a Celtic follower even though we had moved to Lancashire when I was only 12 months old.
On the subject of which of the players I would have in the team now; Alan Hunter for me with Eamon Rogers as reserve.- 1

My fear is that Mowbray will not be replaced and Ainsworth will move elsewhere and be a success.
My worry exactly. I think he will arrive at the club a mile from me and will no doubt be a success, which will make me feel heartily sick.

Is that a bit of snow to the left of the picture? The game was postponed and played at night the following Tuesday or Wednesday. I remember it as being as cold as I've ever been at Ewood Park.
Aye and none of the players were wearing gloves.

Nail on head there OEB. Waggot will then be able to point out to Mrs. D, “Look how we have sold our full allocation of season tickets, what clever boys we are.”

A great read for those of us who watched Rovers in the 60’s. It comes across in the book how much Noddy loved his time here.
