  1. Watching Match of the Day last night, there comes a spot in the programme with what I thought was a refreshing change.

Let's have a "Save of the season" say's Gary, "and here are the candidates"................cue clips of some fine saves and some average ones.

Now given that we have the best keeper in the Prem in Big Brad and given the saves he has pulled off this past season, saves that no right minded person can honestly say that Brad had any right to make, I was sitting there watching and wondering just how the MOTD men were going to fit in three of Bradley's wonderful saves into a list of eight or ten or whatever.

At the end of the clips I was left dumbfounded. What the f###k is going on?

Not one save of Brad's. NOT ONE!!!!!

That is just proof if any were needed that the tosspot programme is total biased against anything or anyone associated with Ewood Park. It must be down to that dingle producer or editor or whatever he is.

I will not pay for my TV licence ever again you cheating barstewards.

  2. I am really torn with this one.

Bellers has been brilliant and I have always thought he was a top player before he came to us. I would vote for him if I thought it would help keep him at Ewood, but alas my vote will make not one jot of difference on that score.

Brad has made saves that he had no business making, that have kept us in some games, enabling us to go on and win. I would vote for him purely on the fact that I have always had a soft spot for him, and that he has committed himself to us for the rest of his carrer.

I would vote for Reid on the strength that he is probably our most improved player since last season.

But my vote must go to Admiral Nelsen. He has simply been a colossus in the centre of the back four, and I am pretty sure that Sven must have been checking through the Admiral's family history to find a valid reason to have him wearing the three lions instead of that Manc prat Ja Ja Binks.

  3. What's all the doom and gloom about.

Sure the games against Wigan and Pompey have not gone to plan but look at the position we are in compared to last season. It's not over yet either, and there will be results both for Rovers and the others that will not be as expected.

We are in a great position from last season come what may. The apathy shown by some on here reflects the apathy of the town toward Rovers.

If we don't get behind this team then it's not only the CL that we will be saying goodby to.

  4. I have watched this debate with some amusement over the last few days, and even though I am a smoker, I can have some sympathy with those who do not.

The thought that springs to mind for next season, when the smoking ban comes into force for seated areas, is who is going to have the job of enforcing the ban?

I am sure that in the home areas the ban will be self enforcing, due to the thraet of losing ones season ticket, being banned from the ground etc., but are we to assume that in the away areas the self same stewards who now implement the no standing rule with such gusto, will also be lambasting the hordes of Mancs and Scousers as soon as they light up?

Somehow I don't think so. I am sure that as I sit in my seat in the Blackburn end, I will not only have to endure looking at the standing sods in the Darren end but they will be puffing on their fags for all they are worth.

  5. unfortunatly you are right

    its perfectly normal for you

for some reason, we would get jailed for saying it  ph34r.gif

I must remember that next time someone calls me a Brit!

On the question of what anthem we should use for England games, Land of Hope and Glory, God Save the Queen, Jerusalem etc etc, the FA have now decided that the best chioce would be the theme from Bob The Builder. (Or should that be Bruce?)

  6. rover.gif i'm not a smoker but these smoking bans at football, the pub,the town centre is total rollocks,pc madness,i bet half of you groaning and moaning are ex smokers.once this has full effect it will be us poor drinkers next mad.gif  tinykit.gif

Quite right, ban alcohol at Ewood. The number of alcoholics that sit in the same row as me, who come in after kick off, leave 15 mins before half time and then come back in 10 mins after the start of the second half, rally annoy me. Do they want to watch live football or is it the plastic glasses that they have a fettish for?

Once the smoking ban comes in I will just invest in Sky TV and watch my football from home and leave all you sanctimonius folk on here to your clean air. I certainly hope that you will all be walking or cycling to the game in future so as not to polute my air space with carbon monoxide fumes that I haven't chosen to breathe either.

  7. So, the chances of us playing in the Intertoto Cup receded just a little, which is undoubtedly a good thing. I really don’t want Blackburn Rovers to be knocked out by a team from such places as Tit (Austria), Tos (Russia), Minge (Lithuania) or Crap (Albania). It would make the Trelleborg episode seem like a lottery win. However, recalling some graffiti from the other side of Accy about that infamous Trelleborgs game, Burnley being twinned with Crap does seem to make much more sense.

Just love this paragraph. It would almost be worth losing to Crap, just to see the inbreeds putting twinning signs on the outskirts of Padiham!

Thank you so much Bob for a great read.

  8. Whilst being a huge fan of mark Hughes and his modern style approach to fitness and team preparation and acknowledging Souness is behind the times with this.

we shouldn't forget that Hughes wouldn't be having the success he is enjoying was it not for a succession of wonderful signings made by GS

Friedel, Neill, Todd, Gray, Tugay, Pederson, Reid, Dickov are all crucial to Hughes success and were picked up for a combined figure of less than £6 million.

Not many managers could achieve such success in the transfer market so I'd think a little before launching into a scathing attack on the man who re-established us a Premiership club.

As Shillito quite rightly says, there are some good points you make there Brownie. However I feel that all those players you have mentioned have made great strides forward under the Huges regime, especially regarding fittness levels. I don't think that they would have been in this situation had Souness stayed nor more to the point his backroom staff like Saunders etc.

The problems we had with players fittness are now echoed at St.James' Park, and the Toon Army are berrating Souness on this aspect along with him playing certain players out of position. Seem to have heard the same moans somewhere much closer to home before don't you think?

  9. As far as the draw is concerned, we all knew deep down didn't we that Man Ure and the Arse would be kept separate.

The worry is as mentioned by someone else how far the referees in each tie will go to ensure the "dream" final.

A very pertinent point you have there Revidge. My personal opinion is that the draw is a total fix and I can just see the Football League top brass creaming themselves over the thought of a Manc v Arse final.

Come on you Blues!!!!................................and you Pie eaters. Lets hope we can both get to the final and do some good for football and not TV.
