    They would all get in!!!:

    Jones - goalie supreme

Heaton - tenacious, terrier like and led by example - would give Brittain the shits one on one

Hawkins - Mr dependable, great organiser

Faz - very, very good at level of old Divisions 2 & 3 but not quite there for old Div 1 (now PL)

    Burgin - cool and classy

Metcalfe - very good on his day, skillful and tenacious

Oates - great athlete who was strong and got around the pitch and weighed in with goals

Parkes - you only realised how good he was when he wasn't playing!

Beamish - got goals and missed a lot, however, never shirked or hid and got in the right positions to threaten, worth 10 of Gallagher

Hickman - tenacity, workrate personified, a physical threat and weighed in with goals

Martin - 'the Don', superb classy footballer.  Could have played in Division 1 but for that horrible ankle break and was never quite the same

That team would get me to Ewood for every home match and many away games.

Sadly, IMO, today's bunch is just  spineless and mainly 'Eusless' who should be made to watch a video of that epic 1975 encounter against Argyle .

One of the all-time greatest games at Ewood in living memory

Never understood how we managed to keep Sir Roger all those years.

  2. Bazball works for flat track bullies but gets found out against the better teams and players who stick to the time-honoured Test match virtues of crease occupation and solid defence. But for one extraordinary innings from Pope this would have been a 5-0 whitewash.

Reading the papers it seems Stokes is leading this attack at all costs mantra as much as McCullum. With an away Ashes series on the horizon it's time for a rethink because it won't work down there either.

Does it make me any less of a fan to think rovers would be better off getting relegated in order to force a reaction in India? As we are only going to be in the exact same position or worse next season in the championship.

Why do folk think that relegation might lead to some sort of awakening in India - that it might lead to them acting on some way, or even selling the club?

There's no guarantee that relegation - and another relegation to L2 - might be a catalyst for anything. In all likelihood, they will carry on running the same way, with minimal interest, minimum funding and certainly no engagement with supporters.

BRFC has been placed in the Venky's bottom drawer - to be looked at perhaps once a year and the returned into the same dusty file for another 12 months or so. They don't care, because their arrogance does not allow them to admit they have made a huge mistake in buying the club in the first place.

For me, only perhaps Crawley and the young spinners come out of this series with any credit.

Looks like 4-1. Should have been 5-0. I think we approached this series very naively and a few might pay the price.

McCullum and Stokes need to rethink strategy - the gung-ho Bazball approach has been exposed.

Most relevant sentence from that article

"The CEO, who has also come under fire from supporters, also revealed the club have no longstanding or overdue debts. In fact, the club are hopeful of ending the year in profit, based on current forecasts"

So, in other words, the prospect of relegation and fans sick with worry don't matter - Waggott will be trousering his bonus on top of his £300,000 plus salary.

One thing that worried me last night is McFadz who has broadly been very good was absolutely roasted for their goal. He totally lost track of where their player was and got left behind so easily....

37 year old (?) who's been playing alot of games recently and they're probably catching up with him

Quite frankly, this team deserves to get relegated. They're the biggest bunch of soft touches I think I've ever seen as a Rovers side. The sad reality is, half of 'em won't care.

That's it for me. They don't seem to care

The West Brom away game in the last days of JDT's reign was a case in point. The whole lot of them spent 90 minutes jogging around going through the motions

Yet put them in front of TV cameras and Premier League opposition and they pull their tripe out

As I said last night, they're cheating the club and the fans

The more he talks the clearer it is that he was a panic choice because JDT was leaving and Waggott needed someone to spout pleasantries to try and keep at least the happy clappers on side.

The sooner he goes the better, talks the talk and that's literally it.

Tomasson has been negotiating his exit (and talking to Sweden) since before Christmas according to reports

I reckon Rovers had Eustace had lined up from then - hence his swift appointment after JDT left

Rather than a panic choice he appears to be a planned appointment....... via Coventry

    This begs the question…

Why did Millwall sack Harris the first time?

Then, why did they bring him back?

Our club isn’t the only one that does the inexplicable.

They realised it was a mistake? Harris has got them 2 wins since he returned

  10. Skilful but lacks the pace and physicality to beat defenders at this level. Being small and lightweight is a big problem for him because he doesn't have the aggression or footballing nous to compensate. He's here to fill a shirt - in a decent squad he wouldn't get a look in and would have been released or probably never signed in the first place

  11. It will be long and hard road back next time - whoever is manager.  The likes of Dack and Graham were the main factors in getting us up last time and without such talisman players we will probably struggle.

Although it's another argument, but seeing as it has been mentioned it cannot be denied that Tomasson is partly to blame for our current predicament.

Talking to some Derby fans at the weekend about Paul Warne, their manager. They dislike him with a vengeance, even though he's got them in 2nd place in League One playing what they describe as "Sunday league football". Warne got Rotherham promoted 3 times from L1 but also relegated them twice.

I guess some managers, like players, have a natural level and it could well be Eustace will be a success in L1 with his own brand of direct football. We could be out to find out.
