  1. With the club seeing fit to once again close a section of Ewood to home fans without consultation, the Darwen End singing section find themselves on the move.  The timing of this has left fans with only social media to organise a new singing section.

It's a disappointing decision as I cannot see to many away teams bringing 7,000 to Ewood next season. In previous years when relocated section W01 and W02 of the Jack Walker Lower Tier has been identified as the best place to relocate the singing section. There are a good few reasons as to why this is the best place to move the section.

    1. Smaller sections of seats means fans will be more compacted and create a better atmosphere

    2. Still close to away fans, many of us enjoy the banter with away fans.

    3. Closer to the players and pitch compared to back of the Darwen End lower tier.

    4. Facing the TV cameras means a great location for the Jack Walker Flags and other banners etc.

    5. Compared to other sections of the ground easier to get good seats close to each other. (Blackburn End would see fans split up and picking from the lesser seats that haven't already been allocated over the years.

    6. Same price as Blackburn End.

    7. The Blackburn End  and Riverside already have some noise, the Jack Walker stand badly needs and injection of loud and proud fans with drums and flags etc.

If there are any existing Darwen Enders on BRFCC please tell others abut W01-W02 lets make Jack Proud of the Jack Walker Singing Section.

  2. I worked with Neil for a short time about 15 years ago now - gave him a copy of the programme from a match he played in against Santos, for Plymouth I think.

Not seen him around for a while...

Neil Ramsbottom was brought up on Clinton Street down Daisyfield, his family lived next door to my grandparents. We knew him as "Uncle Neil" as kids used to call family friends or neighbours Uncle or Aunty. To think he used to take us over on the Daisyfield rec (still there as part of the Daisyfield school grounds) and me and my brother take shots in him in goal. A nice family from my memory.

  4. There is loads of singing in the Darwen End, but possibly can't be heard by the Blackburn End. It is quite possibly the same both ways as we rarely hear the Blackburn End. This is where the Riverside could should come into play as the songs from either end could travel along the Riverside.

Would be good to haver all 3 stands in unison

  5. To be fair Rev Kamy agrees the info was correct, hardly an invented far fetched conspiracy theory

Checked with contact at Venky's. Glen's info was correct, there was a meeting. However it was just an informal meeting and doesn't look like there is anything going to come of it at the moment. No idea what was discussed, they may have even just discussed Venky's football in India programme. But of course there is always a worry when these clowns have meetings with the likes of Judan Ali. My contact told me that Bowyer has an excellent relationship with Mrs D so I doubt that she would do anything without running it past him first,
