I think what pisses me off about this - aside from the sheer unprofessionalism of it - is how needless it is.

It doesn't take a leap of imagination to think football fans would not be too impressed with their own players liking a post from a 7-0 dribbling. Nor is it a great intellectual feat to think even if it was done without any ill intent that it could be misinterpreted. Btw I think it is unprofessional not innocent but even if somehow you concluded it was ok, it might just cross your mind it could be seen negatively. Anyone with half a brain cell might see it is likely to go badly and not a good thing to do.

Then of course there's the fact that not liking it is going to have zero effect. What would happen if they don't like it? The 7-0 doesn't stand? Their friendship with Reed is over? Reed begins to suffer from depression because he feels unloved? Not only are there negative consequences for posting, there are bigger all negative consequences for not liking it. So why do it???

Honestly footballers are a stupid lot.

Even if he’s just liked it without thinking, the bonkers thing is that he’s then had a go at fans to justify it. Just take the hint surely

  2. On the face of it a like on a social media post isn’t very important, but what I can’t get my head around is if you are involved with a club - and I know dack didn’t play, surely seeing a post about your team losing 7-0 would make you angry and not want to see it, never mind like it

Just goes to show the carefree attitude at the club, then they wonder why no fans turn up. Love Dacky to pieces, but lost some respect for him after that, it’s one thing to like the post but to then give a sarcy response rather than just say apologise is really poor form

That's very true. Excessive aggression would be upsetting to potential new fans as well and create an atmosphere which might discourage new fans attending.

From my work in school, I know that children often get upset when things they know are wrong happen. They are educated all week long that some words are 'bad' and kindness to others is a big deal. They then go to the football at the weekend where grown men shout and scream and use words they know to be 'bad'. Teachers have years of experience checking children's body language and expressions to notice upset and you see it a lot at the game.

Anyway, I feel like the thread's wandering off topic so that's enough from me.

That's a new one - swearing is causing our poor attendances? It's football what do you expect, happens at every ground in the country not just ours

I think the only thing on that list Surridge hasn't been criticised for this season is positioning. He was getting slated on our board for diving for a penno a couple of games ago 😀

I don’t think rigger has watched much of Surridge to be honest, just has a strange dislike for Brereton.

Would probably claim he’d rather have Vokes if he was still playing for you

Because I would, it is my preference of the type of striker I want. I am glad Diaz scored again, but having watched the game, he did very little else.

    Who is Sam Sturridge ?

What has Surridge done exactly to make you think he's a better player than Brereton?

You're using past goalscoring figures to discredit Brereton but Surridge's record is awful

Am I reading you right longsiders? Even though the likes of Palace and Southampton aren’t interested in Dyche, the sovereign wealth fund of one of the richest regimes on Earth, who are in a sportwashing arms race with Qatar are going to take him?

Be some marquee appointment that wouldn't it 🤥

Join the club. But thats what we do by following our Blackburn Rovers through the good and bad times with the passion and love we have for Rovers and everything around it. I haven't lost my passion for Rovers even after not being allow to watched it live inside a stadium setting like I have for other social activities I used to do pre pandemic

That sort of comment is very childish and I would expect better from someone like yourself

That comment is childish but you’ve just accused him of not celebrating if rovers players score 😂

Think you need a break chaddy you’re on one today

Yeah what's that all about.I could understand with Armstrong because we couldn't be losing out on a fee as high as his.But Rothwell, what would we get 1 or 2 million, he has started the season well we can't be letting him go with the squad as it is.

Exactly what I thought, no chance we could get a replacement in that would offer anything like he does for the price we’d be getting

Just out of curiosity, Championship top-2 goalscorers over the last few season. Premier League quality or not?

    • Ivan Toney  - ?
    • Adam Armstrong - ?
    • Aleksander Mitrovic - YES
    • Ollie Watkins - YES
    • Teemu Pukki - Unsure although he did score 11 goals in the season he played in the Premier League for a struggling side so probably a yes.
    • Tammy Abraham - YES
    • Matej Vydra - NO
    • Lewis Grabban - NO
    • Chris Wood - YES
    • Andre Gray - PROBABLY NOT
    • Ross McCormack - NO
    • Daryl Murphy - NO
    • Troy Deeney - YES (just)
    • Jordan Rhodes - NO

Not sure about this one - he always seems to flop in the prem and then bang them in when he's back at championship level
