Well, if he is, its taken 3 years to get there and his contract is up in a year, so he could bugger off for nothing.
Does that represent 7M well invested to you?
That wasn’t what I said, he is a championship level player now, regardless of fee or time.
If we do lose him for nothing then obviously that’s awful business, if he signs a new deal then you can bet we’ll get our money back minimum -

Sorry I'm confused by this statement, Brereton still yet to show us what he can actually do? I'm really yet to see a championship level player.
You’ve really not been paying attention if you think he’s not a championship level player

"Badly advised"? For way over a whole decade now? Come on. The example you yourself mention about this poor advice is from 2010!!!
When results still do not happen and relegation happens then heads roll in business. They understand business. You don't need "football knowledge" as another poster put it, to read a table. You don't need to know sport to know that winning games is better than losing them. It isn't a hard concept to grasp.
If they were being badly advised they'd have woken up to this eventually and sacked those advising them. They'd have tried different approaches. They'd have listened to those who reached out to them. But they don't. They didn't sack Kean. They ignore all attempts to reach out to them. They keep the Coventrio on.
The badly advised line worked for a while but it's turned into groundhog day and it's not convincing. Some of our fans made up their minds about this badly advised line in 2011 and have stuck to their guns ever since, adhering the sunk cost logical fallacy approach. Why are they badly advised, anyway? We have no evidence to show that they give too much of a crap about our league position. They bought us as a longstanding top-flight club, after all. Exactly WHAT do they care about when it comes to our club...?!?! It sure as heck ain't success on the pitch.
But badly advised as the excuse for over a decade of hands-off management and continuing underachievement? Really strains at one's credulity to think they can be "badly advised" continuously for 11 whole years and counting...
Brilliant post

Disgrace.
Just seen Rich tweet he's worked for Mowbray twice.
Euros finishing I should be buzzing for the new season, but far from it.
Absolute farce from top to bottom at this club

Why would I make up a rumours 😂, and why would I say who my source is?
The fact people expect people to say the source is absolutely baffling. There a source for a reason.
Next time I'll just keep things to myself and keep this topic absolutely dead.
That's better than making things up to be fair then claiming we can't compete with Wigan

What is your opinion that he would have come here over Wigan based on?
The fact we're in the division above?

Wyke has signed for Wigan apparently nearly earning £10k a week.
We were after him, so it seems as though we have very little money and need to sell Arma (I assume)
If we were after him he'd have come here over Wigan mate

When my mate brings me an ice cold beer I might say 'Nice one you legend', doesn't make him an actual legend. Altho I suppose that depends on what beer it is

Against some teams I think it does. Wycombe's, Coventry's, Birmingham's, Huddersfield's this season for example. But against sides above us, with more knowhow and game plan, I think we have to be more counter based personally.
Didn't we lose to Wycombe and Huddersfield

Back to insults again.
I have said I would play Henderson with Rice for the Croatia game then not start for Scotland game and play Mount in centre midfield with Rice.
Team for Croatia game
Pickford; James Stones Maguire Shaw; Henderson Rice;.Foden Mount Rashford; Kane
Team for Scotland game
Pickford; James Stones Maguire Shaw; Mount Rice; Rashford Foden Grealish/Sterling; Kane
😂😂 Don't be so precious mate

Only going to get fit by playing games
So we try and carry Henderson through 3 tough qualifying games and risk not even going through? Glad you're not in charge.
Bellingham has been a regular for a very good dortmund side, he's good enough to play there

Never said to test his fitness in the Croatia game. He has been training the last 2 weeks so I guess he is fit now and for starts on Sunday with Rice.
Again how can you be fit from 2 weeks training after 4 months out?

James for me is our best right back currently.
Against a good solid Croatia team I would play both Rice and Henderson. Then see how Henderson is after that game given he has been injured for a while before just returning
There's no way we should be using the toughest game of the group to test if Henderson is fit. He's played 45 minutes since February, there is no chance he is fit.
That's been our issue at previous tournaments - trying to force unfit players into the team. Play our fittest and most in form team. If we get to a point where we've already qualified with a game to (like in 2018) then give Henderson a run out.

I have a weird feeling that Southgate is going to 'trust' his old guard a bit (Rashford and Sterling) and start them over Foden and Grealish. Think that would be a big mistake personally.
Very excited to watch though, just hoping our attacking players turn up cause that back line is very shaky, and of course that we don't play too negative

AFC Fylde away is the first preseason game on 10th July. They play in white, so would expect the new away shirt to be in action by then at the very latest.
As said above, with the Umbro deal running until 30th June, I wouldn't expect any Macron releases until 1st July at the earliest.
Bit of fun for everyone in the meantime

Henderson
Walker Stones Maguire Shaw
Henderson Mount
Foden
Sterling Kane Rashford
One of the worst England squads I’ve seen going into a major tournament, Apart from Walker, Kane and Sterling I don’t think any would get minutes on the pitch in the 2004 squad
Worst squad you've seen? It's better than the one we took to the last world cup for a start. If that front 4 played for any other country we'd be envious

Try playing him in his favourite position of central midfield. Another one of Mowbrays strange selections of wide midfield. Maybe he’ll get a chance at centre half with the injuries we have.
He played most of his games in centre mid this season?

Moving the goalposts there, Joe.
I would rather we sold Armstrong right now than Rothwell.
If we keep Armstrong and recruit using the money we make from Rothwell then we are going to really struggle.
If we keep Rothwell and strengthen using the money from Armstrong then we should be able to improve the first team.
Arma is hugely overrated IMHO and his stock is artificially inflated because of his sporadic goalscoring - he is very inconsistent and has scoring gluts once teams are beaten. We are a better team when he doesn’t play. (You won’t find many stats for that but I’ve seen it with my own eyes). We need to take advantage of the situation.
While Mowbray is here this is all moot mind you.
Do you want another season like (or worse than) last season?
Can you explain that please? Genuinely intrigued

Yeah but my point was that he’s a championship quality player. The post I replied to said he wasn’t.
Your point is correct that it’s not in our hands, but that’s not what I was arguing. We absolutely should have spent that money differently, same with Gallagher.
