If we'd have spent that £7million on an established goalscorer at the time we might not still be bumping around the middle of the championship hoping one day we might get our money back.

We absolutely would be though, goalscoring isn't our problem it's keeping them out the other end. We've got the top scorer in the league, highest goal difference and we're 12th. Should've been spent at the back if we're going to talk in hindsight

No, it isnt about having a "stick" to beat the manager with, but if we was to judge at this point then Brereton still would very much come under the unsuccessful signing category and for a ghastly fee too.

Obviously one thing that Brereton has done this season is start to show glimmers of promise and potential that he could prove to be an asset which prior to this season did not seem to be the case at all. Of course he will need to step up a couple more levels further before the fee and justifying that fee becomes a genuine conversation.

I suspect that I am not on my own in feeling especially pleased when he scored even compared to anyone else though.

Overall, I still think that Mowbrays transfer record is a mixed bag. 2 main success stories in Dack and Armstrong and 2 main expensive question marks. Then beneath that, quite a few shorter term successes, some cheaper failures, and quite a few in the middle who flatter to deceive. It isnt a case of one big stick to beat the manager for amidst an otherwise successful history, it is mixed, good, bad and indifferent all included.

I don’t disagree but I think if brereton can consistently show the levels he’s been showing recently then he’ll he well worth the £7m. Just hope he can keep it up

He is too easily pushed off the ball. When he loses possession he doesn't bust a gut to get back/try to retrieve it. All opinions - yours and mine - but I regard him as overrated

He worked his arse off yesterday, maybe could say that about him on previous showings, but yesterday he was grafting all over the pitch

Commentators describe what’s happening on the pitch. If he isn’t being mentioned it means he isn’t involved. Just because he is rated at Liverpool doesn’t mean he can’t have football coached out of him by the current coaching set up.

Wouldn’t take much notice from our commentators, don’t know their arses from their elbows

  5. I also think that if it was as simple as having a slow build then every club in the country would do it, rather than firing their manager and trying to appoint better.

Having said that I think the frustration comes because we can all see how close we get, but we're constantly undone by either individual errors or tinkering. But the fact these individual errors have been happening since Tony took charge it's hard to not point the finger.

The league this year is much weaker than previous seasons, and with the games coming so thick and fast any team that can stay injury free and show any semblance of consistency will get out of this league. Just can't see us being that team as we can't seem to do either of those things.

Mine worked okay as usual but that co-commentator is bloody annoying. At the final whistle last night he said something like "If we'd kept a clean sheet we would have won 2-0, these are the fine margins in football"

A four-goal fine margin, whatever next?

I'm convinced he has absolutely no filter, just say's what immediately comes to his mind. 4-2 down with 10 mins to go and he's saying 'no need to rush, plenty of time to get a couple of goals'. I do wonder if they actually believe what they are saying sometimes, makes it an even tougher watch.

Another one was when Derrick made a long ball out to Gallager I think? and the co-commentator said that was a mm off being a perfect pass, and it was about a yard over his bloody head!

I personally think Williams has a better all round game at centre half then Lenihan.

I like Darragh, always plenty of commitment, but he seems to be getting worse with the ball, if anything.

Fully agree with this, and its crazy to think he was originally a midfielder. I do think we are a worse team without him though, just seems to be very inconsistent like the rest of the team

It was genuine point as you don't enjoy the performances unless we win. We performed well at Bournemouth and Newcastle games.

Well I didn't buy a season ticket due to being made redundant when they went on sale originally if you remember properly. Now with it looking increasing likely we won't be in stadium before March at the earlier. I not a fan of the Live I follow coverage and the time delay with the service. Now if you want to watch I follow coverage of Rovers that is fine with me But I know people who arent interested in watching Rovers this way. Yesterday I didn't watch or listen live to any of Forest game just for record.

Forest manager has said they got a lucky deflection with their goal that was heading for nil nil all day long.

So you’d rather watch it when it’s finished, how’s that for a time delay?

Having watched the game for the1st time. Only found out the result yesterday evening.

We badly missed Holtby and Rothwell. Holtby for his passing quick and eye for pass and Rothwell running and dribble ability. Buckley couldn't provide the spark need. Our back 4 were solid and look good defensive. Kaminski good. Had nil nil all over it until their lucky deflected gola

Would have like us to gone 4-4-2 in game second half with Gallagher and Armstrong up front

I can understand why Trybull and Douglas weren't on bench. Probably not even had a training session with the players yet. Elliott and Pears weren't signed in time for game with cut off time 12pm Friday dinnertime.

Why would you be happy to rewatch the match but not watch it live?
