either way dacks still on a contract... Whether he signs a new one or not. We only got him last season so I wouldnt be worried about it running down. The only reason they probably want to negotiate a new deal is so they can add in some new add on clauses and a minimum release fee.

Yeah, I completely agree! I am not worried, just bemused when they’ve been saying it’s ‘close’ for weeks ?

He also said that it wasn't Wigan.?

All sings point to it being us - Taking an age to go through / secretive stuff from their chairman when quizzed about us / basically ruling our everykne but us / hearing it’s about payment from buying club.

I wonder if this is what’s holding Dack’s renewal up. Maddison may want more than what Dack has been offered and Dack may want the same or more. And the bottom line is, we’ll be trying to keep our pay structure in place as well I am sure

  3. Dack is probably holding off on signing a new deal until he see's what investment is put in to the transfer market and the quality of player he ends up having around him.

Also, I feel if we wait it out with Armstrong, Newcastle may lower their asking price towards the end of the window - sit tight Tony.

How about Wharton stays and we forget about 2 million pounds Bauer?

I agree with this. Seems a waste to spend some of our budget (if we have one) on a 'backup' player when we already have a ready made back up player in Wharton. Especially when we need to improve starting positions in the squad.

  5. Long time reader, rare poster here,

I had to sign in to ask especially. Is 'chaddy' ACTUALLY saying he prefers the prospect of signing Kent on loan above the permanent signing of Maddison? This has to be a wind up. Almost like he has to stick to his story because he is in too deep.

Secondly, just to throw my two cents in - Poor window so far but I haven't quite reached panic mode yet. Agree with most of you on here who agree that we need 2 strikers, 2 wingers and a back up CB. and I echo most in here that suggest Armstrong, Maddison and Chapman. However, I am yet to be sold on having Gallagher back again and at the same time I don't know too much about Bauer. £2mil seems like a lot but having done some research, wouldn't be opposed to a cheaper deal.

  6. Any accoustic guitar lovers out there?

I stumbled upon a tv show last night on cable PBS chanel. A fabulously immense guitarist called Tommy Emmanuel.

Never heard of the guy before, but will certainly be finding out more about his work.

    ....just check this guy out!

Listen to his version of 'Classical gas' - Amazing man!!
