  1. I'll be the one that has gone for Jim Arnold, then. He certainly seemed like the best goalkeeper in the world at the time, mind that was probably because he was taking over from John Butcher. Out of all those listed he certainly had the biggest stepped improvement on the overall team in relation to his predecessor. Brad though has to be the best in global terms, when he can kick the ball that is.
  2. Was he not sentanced to imprisonment at Slade prison under the control of Mr Mackay ?
  3. One Friday evening at "Chez Souness" Graeme is busy planning his selection of players and the formation for the forthcoming game. After noting his own personal favourite 11 he looks at his team sheet notices with shock "Buugger me" in a kind of Avid Merion way, he exclaims, "Barry Ferguson is my captain but he cannot possibly be in my best 11 players because he wears the number 16 shirt." So for the rest of the season, he has to chose numbers 1 to 11 for selection, even though no number 3 was nominated he had to start with only 10 men....and once numbers 4 and 8 where both injured - well!
  4. The Proclaimers song of what 10 or so years ago I would walk 500 miles n I would walk 500 more Just see the Rovers score a goal just see the Rovers score a goal darada darada darada dadadadada darada darada darada dadadadada darada darada darada dadadadada Gets my vote! Vote "The Proclaimers" Should go down well in the JW Stand!
  5. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well done Celts, I mean that as well. A couple of my mates went over for the game last night and i'm sure they'll have some decent reports of their experiences. Did you not go jas? well I've got a suggestion jas, will you just GAFY. My first statement about you was right all along then heh!
  6. Duffer to turn on the magic setting up Andy Cole for a brace and then just to seal it a late pile driver from "Tugay You are my Turkish Delight nananananana" 3-0 thankyou very much, trip to Italy in two weeks time to hammer Parma in't next round!
  7. Yep, got to get in town early and sample the atmosphere. You have to make the most of situations like these. Celtic fans gave us no grieve as hosts and so I wouldn't expect anything different down here, not 'til after the match anyway when they have been knocked out o'cup.
  8. Good post Tris, Gillespie makes his mind up whether he is going to play well or not before the game. He looks at the LB and if he fancies he can beat him he does, if he thinks the guys got a bit of pace about him he wont even bother trying to beat him. Dunny is a big problem. I have mentioned on previous posts about his attitude, and his similarities to Gazza are becoming more striking by the week. Not thru' his ball skills and his influence on a game, more his waist measurement. I'm afraid I cannot agree on Cole though. He makes some splendid runs that just do not get seen by the "providers". I think the rest of the team have to learn his game as much as he has to look at himself. Goalscorers are what make a footy team successful, he is one and so lets try to play to his strengths. Remeber the Shearer days, we had a way of playing that was all set up around this man because he could score. Not that I am putting Cole in the light as Shearer but we need to look at ways of feeding him more often in the areas where he likes the ball. I admit he is his own worst enemy with that solemn body language of his, but lets get realistic, we paid slightly more for him than we did for Grabbi and what the bloody hell has he done. The fans still chant the italians name yet he has not produced, isn't going to produce and his attitude seems to never get questioned. Get behind Cole and he will score the goals. Give him the same chances that Grabbi seems to get off the fans. With Matty looking a long way off Yorke n' Cole is the present and future strikeforce that we have so lets not worry about their Manure connections support them because they are our best chance of success.
  9. Shall be arriving at Glasgow Central around 12:15, drop off the bags at our overnight accommodation and then hit the city centre bars.
