I like how the burnley supporters wouldn't know what to do with the cards haha
-
26000 really isn't bad all things considered. Not playing a big team even though it was a big game, recent results and the weather were all against us. So really that isn't too bad.
-
Earnshaw and Dickov...combined height of 4 foot. Having said that would love to see Earnshaw here. Earnshaw and Bellamy, now that would have a bit of pace to it.
-
No thanks, I think he needs the time and freedom to be able to get the ball and experiment. I don't think he'll fit into our plan and work ethic, and won't be in a situation to do what he does best, though there is no doubting his skill and talent.
-
The fact he was quite a regular in the MLS team of the season did indicate that he was something special - even if the league isn't the 'mighty' standards of the EPL. Um no not really. I've watched the MLS for years, especially when I lived there, and making the MVP team really wouldn't make you Premiership standard. Hughes did well to pick up on a player that few will have even heard of, and even fewer will have thought capable of making it in this league. I'm sure that both he and the player have been surprised by the ease at which he has adapted and just how well he has done.

Now let's just not do a Boro, massive result for us though
-
Anyone got Burnley in any European competition...Erm...oooo...wait a minute. Don't think I'll be able to find that one.
-
Well we've had the wind against us, so halftime should make it even easier for us. Let's see how Norwich wriggle themsleves out of this after calling us bullies if we hold on for the result *touches several items made of wood*

And that as captain and "star player" he hasn't been much of a success. I wish him the best of luck, and I'm not (that) bitter. In ten years no one will even remember who he is.
-
He has been a member for several months, quite odd

Yeah, can't the messageboard get in trouble for "stealing" articles? Should cut that and replace it with the link. -
I'm not saying he didn't contribute, I even say there that I understand why someone might think of him as being suitable for that role, especially when you take into consideration the fact that he is the second highest goal scorer in premiership history. Now is this a vote on best ever player, as in most talented to wear the shirt, or best player to ever wear the shirt based on his performance while he was a rover? If it is simply best ever, then certainly Cole becomes an excellent candidate. My point basically is, that every player up there at one point or another did something that the fans loved, and he was a great player for the club. Now if you happen to have a special liking for him and hold him dear to your heart then it would make sense that you would vote for him, even going as far as to disregard scoring statistics and the like. I'm not saying one is right and the other isn't, in fact I'm trying to fight against people who obviously think that way. Argue the case for whoever you want, if you don't convert then oh well, but don't be critical of those who for whatever reason like a certain player and think he was a great.

It's a phase. Scrapping for our lives and digging deep means we don't play the free flowing pleasant football we did two or three seasons ago, while our discipline was amazingly poor at the beginning of the season. It is probably about normal now, but every yellow card just makes it look worse. In a year or two it will pass, it just happens sometimes, it may even be gone by next season. -
Andy Cole wasn't better. Jansen's goal were what got us back in the premiership, helped us stay up, and helped us win the worthington cup. If he has a special place in certain people's hearts then that is fine by me. I think you are all being so silly quite frankly, to think that your little spiels about a players career will ever match the joy and passion that comes from supporting the team when the player is playing and watch him out there scoring goals and bringing you the victories that we all want so badly. Stop being so damned closed minded. You think I am? I'm the one who thinks people should vote for whoever they want, you are the ones who keep saying that if it isn't the one you voted for, then obviously people aren't doing it correctly.
-
What? I thought most people wouldn't want to go?
-
Who says I voted for him? haha All I was saying was I could understand why people might. By the way, don't put people up on a list as possible votes and then vilify the person who does.
-
By god he has a lot to do if he wants to get Scotland's pride back.
-
Rubbish. Football is no more about individual emotions than reading a newspaper on the bloody toilet is. Football is so obviously a communal experience that I can't even be bothered arguing the point. DEFINITELY NOT. Eh? Agree with you, but do you read the newspaper on the loo with other people?

Well he's probably a better judge of talented forwards than most of us... -
Really? Out of interest how many capacity home crowds have Rovers had this year? Just to clarify I mean where all the home seats have been sold, not where you give 9000 to Man U etc? Not sure if you print them in your programs but I would be interested to know just how many Rovers fan turn up to home games I would not worry to much about us selling our tickets for this one. And on the who sold most tickets arguments, dress it how you want but we sold around 7000 last time, but I'll settle for 6000 which is still nearly twice what you sold for our place. Now I accept you couldn't sell more than 3,800 - and you couldn;t even find that many that would travel the 10 miles, in a FREE luxury coach. Now you can spout the general sale nonesense but I thought you had over 10000 season ticket holders? What 30% didn;t care enough to travel and as for the ignorant banana eaters comments, just more reinforcement of the nations view of Rovers fans as bigots and racists I guess Unless you now considered the people of burnley to be their own race, it can't exactly be racism now can it. While I'd just like to point out that your math seems a bit off at one points, if we have 10,000 season ticket holders, and only 3,000 people go to a game, then 70% didn't travel, not 30%. To be honest I think this discussion is better to be dropped, and that instead both sides do their talking on the pitch, which I think all of us would be quite happy with, as I fully expect a Rovers victory.
-
Nonsense. I'm fed up with the gloomsters writing us off all the time. Rovers will stay up at a canter, starting with a 3-0 triumph over the Canaries on saturday. Take notice you depressing fools haha. If jim is being positive, no one can be negative!
-
My god have I ever seen a more fickle bunch of supporters. You are all so sad, really either stop supporting the club or get a grip. We've lost 3 games in a row, dear me, it happens, get on with it. We'll survive this year, and if things don't change then, fine, be sad, but until then, we are in a pretty safe position really, and I'm sure we'll pick up our fair share of points between now and the end of the season. I'm sure you are the same people who only a month ago were singing the clubs praises and saying how great everything was and how good the team were, really gets on my tits.
-
We probably have the worst strikers, but certainly not the worst team. Big difference. I think a lot of premiership teams would love our midfield. While even our defence over the past couple months has shown itself to be excellent.

Agree with you there USA. I think it is just worth saying to Stead have a few games and keep trying. Back him for 5 games, eventually he'll come good, he has too much talent not to. He just needs to get the confidence back and the touch and movement that can only come from playing.
