Keep me informed please! I'd love to see the game. First thing on my mind when I woke up this morning, and it will be there all of today, can't wait.
-
I wasn't saying we'll be there. Regardless of whoever makes the semi final it will be that weekend! I actually don't think we will make it, have a bad feeling.

[Archived] Good Tactics
Eddie replied to BringOnNextSeason's topic in I Can't Believe It's Not Football Archive
I play 4-4-2 counterattacking football, high tempo, narrow set up and short passing. Works well for me with most teams. -
I'd disagree with that American, and I'm not talking specifically about our game against Chelsea. I have seen plenty of matches where the better team has lost, and really the better team. Just because their opposition have outscored them, perhaps getting a couple of goals on the break with their only chances of the game, in a game in which they have barely featured, does not make them the better team on the night. There can always be the argument that they deserved the victory, because they took their chances and were not wasteful, however, I don't believe you can say they were the better team. As I said, I'm not saying this is at all how it was in our match against Chelsea, but to think that the better team is decided purely by who scores more goals, is, in my opinion at least, not always right.

So because he livens things up hes good for the game? Personally, I can't stand the man. I would really enjoy it if his time and Chelsea ends in failure. Give me a Robson type any day of the week ahead of him.

Savage had Grant in his back pocket for the entire match Fair stuff their longsiders. No doubting we both have our fair share of idiot supporters, just like every club. I just think that recent history points to a rather more extreme section of Burnley supporters willing to do that little bit more than even the daftest of Rovers. Now it is a small minority, and I'm not even saying it's still there, but as of yet we haven't trashed our own town or torn a roof off. I think that's why you'll get the stick you do about your supporters. Whether it is deserved or not I think we have to wait a week and see. I don't think anyone could have any complaints with how you've handled yourself on the messageboard though. Your opinions are somewhat, well, misinformed at times, but still, thats not your fault.

Just found out that it's not being shown on tv, sorry if it's been mentioned, which really isn't good as that means I'll be stuck with the usual internet commentary.

Good looking team. Shame about Jansen not making it though...
-
Given that he now has so few options, I think it probably doesn't make a difference. What is it going to change? I don't like the man much, but can't really say anything bad about that.

The lad who did run on the pitch will get himself a good kicking, took a swing at a cop, I'm sure he'll be feeling that around now haha. Fair result, neither team looked like scoring. Pedersen's flicked header in the first half only thing that really looked dangerous. Thought we did play quite well though, solid in tough conditions. Gallagher and Emerton were both pretty awful though. Emerton is good at the one touch passing, but as soon as he gets the ball down and starts running he just goes nowhere. He seems to just jog towards the defender, never once did he stick to the touchline to get a ball in, though perhaps this was due to a lack of presence in the area. Should be comfortable in the replay, they never looked like dangerous, and when we got the ball down and played they couldn't touch us, which makes me think that on a better pitch playing in a more controlled fashion we shouldn't have any real trouble.

Good luck to all of you travelling. C'mon rovers

I'm sure they are. I think they do play soooo regularly though that it must lose something. Twice, three times a season if the cup comes up, is more than enough just to let the rivalry simmer, five times is a bit of a joke. They should just kick the other teams out, play a 6/7 games between the two of them and winner takes everything.

Barca v Real isn't a derby you nin whit. Actually in a sense it is, at least in France you can have such a thing. You can have a local derby ie Blackburn Burnley Then you can also have a derby that is simply a match with a lot of tradition and history behind it where the clubs have become intense rivals ie Arsenal Manchester United I don't know if in English you can have the same thing, this is odd as I'm a native English speaker, just expressing an opinion really. What about the Breton derby (although Nantes isn't technically in Brittany any more)? No I mean they do have local derbies, but there are also big games that though essentially they are not derbies because of location, are because of history and tradition. This is where the local derby is seperated from just the derby.

[Archived] Amoruso Would Love Rangers Return
Eddie replied to herbergeehh's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Agree with that. He's simply the typcial MB scapegoat really. Not the best player ever by any means, but we've had worse, and he does have something to offer our squad. -
By the teams I listed I really do mean favourite teams. That doesn't mean that their results have any effect on me, as they really don't.

Here in France I somewhat keep an eye on Metz. Despise Paris St Germain and love it when they lose, and Metz, not sure why, historically a great city and just taken an interest. Here it comes.....as my girlfriend is Italian I have watched the Serie A more over the last little bit, have to say it isn't very interesting, but I knew that before I started watching it every week, there I do keep an eye out for Siena. Small team like ourselves punching above their weight, my sister used to live there and ran into a bunch of them in the bar she worked in. Chicago Fire in the MLS. While I liked over in the states I had no local MLS teams in either San Francisco or Salt Lake (don't mention the new "real"), so since then have followed Chicago as I was a big Bulls fan since 89/90. Englang obviously, and also Guyana when I can. Mother's side of the family from there, Jamaica when they are at the World Cup, basically any West Indian team that makes it, and as they were the last ones to gave them a cheer.

Does that mean you'll put me up for free then? I did vote for you...haha

No point, they could google there way through it! Should be a chatroom event, both posters at the same PC to avoid any sneaky googling. Agree with 1864 apart from the Vs day comments, my old man wouldn't speak to me again if I let my lass go before me Chat room it is then. Come on...a penalty shoot-out of questions

Boooo This result is unfair. How about they decide it by being quizzed by the messageboard on Rovers trivia. Highest score gets the ticket?
