Can’t believe what I’m reading. People so upset that we are losing a 36! Year old and a 34 year old. Decent players, but nowhere near irreplaceable
Well we haven't replaced Batth as yet and I will be amazed if De Neve gets anywhere near what Weimann did last season in terms of impact, goals and assists.

Probably about the same time it takes a club to agree a fee for Callum Brittain, who only has 12 months left on his contract and is currently at a cash strapped Rovers, in fairness.
Think it's clear Hull are in even more desperate straits financially than Rovers!
Additionally, Brittain's transfer value is far more substantial (£2 to 3m) than McLaughin (£0.5 to 1m).
It's apples and pears!

McLaughlin sounds an okay signing - how low the bar, and our expectation, has fallen. At least he is 'Championship ready'.
Can't help but think club is pulling its finger out on this one as there's bad news on Carter's 'cramp'!
Jackson in LT saying McLaughin in Turkey at Hull training camp but would be allowed to leave IF fee agreed with Hull - how long does it take to agree a fee for a club in Hull's position with only 12 months remaining on the lad's contract!?!?
Also, stated Carter missing from Wednesday's training video indicating injury could be worse than first feared.
So our c/b's are Hyam and Wharton (who can't be anywhere near ready for 90 minutes in the Championship) with only rookies in reserve.

Seems Toth will be number 1 and I would think Pears will be p1ssed-off and toddle off to another club.
That would mean we would need a number 2 with fair experience and capability. Don't think this lad fits the bill - mid 20's and only 30ish senior appearances in 6 years and nearly all whilst on loan in Sweden.

Sadly, we seem to have made contact with a number of clubs regarding possible transfers only to make an offer way below valuation.
This lad is playing for the current Swedish Champions and is also a full international - being sceptical and recognising what has happened this window with the likes of Sagnan, Nade etc, would think this is yet another rabbit hole.
Think it's more like;y we sign Patrick Bauer or someone similar!

They also would have to agree a compensation package with us ideally to avoid a tribunal.
But either way, all this stuff about his agent feeding him a fairytale at this stage is unfounded rubbish.
Why have you got the impression that he and his agent see him as this hot property?
Have posted my thoughts and you disagree.
Not going to waste my time arguing the toss with you.

Because hes only in mid July not yet decided on his next move having rejected our no doubt pitiful offer? He must have been "sold a fairytale?"
I dont get why this narrative has grown legs like it has.
The timing suggests to me that he's not the 'hot property' he and his agent thought he might be.
Championship teams are at least 2 weeks into their pre season and you think Dolan would be a 'low hanging fruit' and easy to pick.

Does anyone have a view on whether Ismael is signed up to this transfer strategy? I can't see how he can be much of a fan of letting probably six of our best players go (Dolan, Brittain, Bath, Wieman, Tronstad and Travis) and replacing with unproven imports.
He doesn't look like a guy who will take it lying down to me. And he has a record of walking away from jobs.... Him not being around by Christmas seems possible to me.
IMO, in his post match interviews at Stanley, although refreshingly honest, his body language told me he was already p1ssed-off.
I think you are right, he wont take the current shambles lying down - just a repetition of what happened with JDT and Eustace.

See Derby have completed the signing of Patrick Agyemang for an initial fee believed to be almost £6million, however, he will miss the first games as he needs hernia surgery! Explodes the myth they have nowt to spend. Whether they have enough left in the coffers for Brittain and/or Travis remains to be seen.
At least they are showing ambition and backing their feckin manager.

Think Dolan needs to sack his agent as he seems to have been sold, and believed, a fairytale.
Huge dose of reality setting in for the lad.

And presumably they could write these off by so much each year but don't ?
Having one company owing the parent 130 million must somewhere somehow have some tax advantages against the profit the parent makes ?
All I have tried to do is outline in basic terms what the connections are between club, parent company and ultimate holding company and how the club is financed.
Intercompany loans can be a complex tax area where there are write-offs due to either insolvency or for other reasons.
Venkateshwara Hatcheries Pvt. Ltd (as ultimate holding company) will have its own group accounts back in India. Whilst there is a Double Tax Treaty between UK and India, I am unable to comment on any implications UK operations will have on VHPL.

A few posts have been made about how the parent company (Venkys London Limited) funds the football club (The Blackburn Rovers Football and Athletic Limited) and what is the nature of that funding.
Venkys London Limited is a subsidiary of Venkateshwara Hatcheries Pvt. Ltd which is the ultimate holding company and controlled by Desai and the Rao brothers.
To fund Rovers, Venkys London Limited issue shares with proceeds then loaned to the football club and shown in the football club's balance sheet under 'Creditors - amounts falling due within one year' (last accounts at 30 June 2024 showed an amount of £134 million up from £123.1 million the previous year).
Notes to the accounts advise these are interest free loans and Venkys London Limited will not recall these loans within 12 months of the date the football club's financial statements are approved (signed off by CEO Waggott and the club's auditors on 12 December 2024).

Could anyone really complain if Travis buggers off at the first opportunity?
Isn't he supposed to have said to a fan at Accrington on Saturday he hadn't received a contract offer?
At his age, his next contract is so important as his earning potential will never be higher.

Have a feeling that the atmosphere by mid September at Ewood could quite quickly turn incredibly toxic -
Brittain already out the door and a foot into the next one
Travis and Tronstad likely have their bags packed ready
All three unlikely to be replaced by anyone of considerable value and direct impact on the team.
A starting 11 likely of:
Toth
Duru Wharton Hyam De Neve
Buckley Forshaw
Kargbo Cantwell Hedges
Ohashi
Can't see where the results will come from - and once we start losing it's amazing how quickly the ewood tide can turn its anger to Pasha, Gestede, Venkys and Ismael

With that team we would be cut adrift by October with no prospect of recovery.
Would be relegated with a record low number of points.

Confirmation Lowe has gone
Never been a Lowe fan and seems Eustace sought to isolate him. However, for Rovers not to even confirm this departure is poor. One does wonder if this is litigious.

So, out of players we have signed/been strongly linked to over the course of the window so far (not sure if I have missed any): -
- Steve Kapaudi - No deal
- Marwan Al-Sahafi - No deal
- Ryan Alebiosu - Deal
- Sidnei Tavares - Deal
- Dion De Neve - Deal
- Moussa Baradji - No deal
- Ethan Pye - No deal
- Cody Drameh - No deal
- Sean McLoughlin (I am regurgitating an old name here, I can't remember the name of who it was but sure it was another Hull player) - No deal
Prior to pre season starting, we'd reached 33% so already failed that expectation to Val 🤣
You've left out Mikael Nade which was again ridiculous wishful thinking from Rovers.

Top fan - showing your true colours
regardless of the venkys madness any ‘fan’ who backs against the team quite frankly isn’t a fan
Yep, a top fan going back to early sixties who can count on two hands the number of seasons I DID NOT have season ticket(s) and for many seasons held half a dozen or so season tickets. Also bought corporate facilities.
What's your record?
Nowt wrong with betting against your team if you believe in a certain outcome.
48 minutes ago, GHD said:You always used to post that you only had fun bets on Rovers
Wrong - check my postings. On match day, usually bet on a single outcome and additionally throw in a 'fun bet' eg correct score, goals over etc.

But if Brittain does leave then we need to replace him like for like?
You Montgomery played there and did very well and got high up the pitch with Ribeiro took in making its a 3-4-2-1 when attacking. Montgomery is young and he almost got an assist when he did cross the ball into the box and Stanley player knock it against the bar.
he was cramp in the same area as his previous injury so took him as precaution and will go for a scan this week
when we were playing 3 at the back under JDT
A scan for cramp !?!?!?
14 minutes ago, chaddyrovers said:his medical has shown some problems so he has gone back to Switzerland now whilst Rovers look further into the medical and the problems behind.
Probably could re-negotiation the fee we are paying and instead of paying the fee over 2 or 3 payments, make these clauses based on appearances and how he does here
Stress fractures in the foot can be problematical.
Normal healing process takes up to 3 months and if they don't heal properly surgery is inevitable sometimes necessitating re-fracturing the bone and you are back to square one! Have known footballers be out for 6 to 12 months in some cases.
Think this might well be dead in the water now.

Its the age old question.
Who the hell knows.
There is potential for something nefarious with the owners but to suggest that extends to some theory of them wanting relegation or to liquidate the club or the fact Ismael has any role in any of it is ludicrous.
Crazy fake stories and conspiracy theories help no one.
Do not associate those comments to me.

De Neve signed as a winger (where he played mostly for his last club) who can also play wing back.
Anyhow, the key point is, if he hasn't been signed as Weimann's direct replacement, we have neither replaced Batth nor Weimann yet and bear in mind Batth was an outstanding performer for us last season and Weimann had excellent impact and delivered when we needed it with both goals and assists.
Age is irrelevant - it's the quality and ability to perform - Cowans, Moran, Gale etc and presently for other clubs Messi (38), Ronaldo (40), Modric (39) etc
